I've been using an oasis 2 for almost 2.5 years without a case. Scratches are here and there but the device is still solid and works extremely fine.

I moved from the paperwhite to the oasis and I love it already, the design is so lightweight and the buttons are so handy for one hand reading. For me the extra money is well worth it!

I took mine to a two week field artillery training exercise. It got really hot, it got fairly cold. I dropped it multiple times in the Amazon cloth case. I did crack the case, but the Oasis was fine. It got super dusty from living outside, but a quick rinse took care of that.
I feel it's at least as tough as my paperwhite has been

Hello, first let me say how much I appreciate all of your Kindle videos. They’re very informative. I have a question I hope you can help me with. How do I get my Kindle Oasis (10th gen) to do immersive reading? It used to do this. Now I only have the ability to read or listen to the audio book. I can’t do both at the same time any more. Thank you in advance!
I wish they'd release an updated version with usb c now that it's back up to $250 from $185 prime day sale. That's the only way I could stomach the price. $185 was still too much knowing that a new version could be announced any day now.
I don’t imagine them releasing a new version for at least a few weeks if not months. That would be so bad if they announced a new one right after prime day!
how's the light display when it comes to evenness? the paperwhite is distinctly brighter at the top of the screen compared to the bottom.

I had the paperwhite for a week or so and sent it back for the Oasis, and the minute I started reading on it, I was overjoyed with it. So for me, it was well worth the price, and Amazon gave me a good price for my paperwhite.

I’ve had mine for a day now and I can definitely say you are right. All the improvements that might sound minor in a video are actually pretty major is use.
While I’ve been an e book reader for almost a decade the experience never felt the same as paper books. There was always some divide; some friction.
That changes with this device-mostly due to two things: processor speed and paying that twenty bucks to remove the ads. Because of those two I can pick up the oasis, hit the button and instantly be back in a book the same way I can pick up a paper book and open it.
No waiting for it to load. No pressing the button and then having to swipe. It’s sounds simple buts it’s transformative. I pick up the oasis and read little bits during tv commercials now.
I’m considering getting the fabric cover just to be able open it and have it turn on. One more minor step closer to reading paper.

One of the things important to me is the weight. I'd like to know if you can notice the difference of weight between the Oasis and the Paperwhite. Also, Do you know if the Oasis 32Gb is heavier than the Oasis 8Gb? I've got a Paperwhite 4 now and thinking into updating to the Oasis.

Once you read on the Oasis there is no going back. It doesn’t fit as well in my back pocket like the Paperwhite but not bad enough to bother me.
If you have the spare cash I would recommend it
I agree that it’s hard to use anything else once you try the Oasis!!
I was thinking in upgrade from my kindle 10 gen to a Kindle Oasis, but with the recently introduccion of the kindle paperwhite signature, it make me think in a new Kindle Oasis, should i wait for the new version of a kindle oasis or buy the new kindle paperwhite signature edition?
If I own an audible book, can I read it on the kindle or do I have to by two separate books? I know if I buy a book on kindle it’s not possible to listen to it on audible but will it work the other way round?
I was frustrated by my basic Kindle’s sluggish response to inputs and page turns. I finally coughed up the cash for the Oasis and have been blown away by the responsiveness. It completely transformed the reading experience for me. It makes it so much more satisfying to tear through books.
There's a MASSIVE difference between those two devices. Enjoy your Oasis!
I have Kindle Oasis I just want to know One thing and I have asked this question before. Is there a way to do immersive reading on it ?
Also, I never understood why they would integrate audiobook functionality on the actual device without having the ability to read WHILE listening to audio. Most people will most likely continue to use their phones for this reason.
That’s a very good point! You have to buy the kindle book separately from the audio version in order to do that. And even then I don’t believe you can listen and read at the same time. Maybe with a future software update!

Does the Oasis have speech recognition for turning pages? Page Up or Page down?
What about overheating in direct sunlight? I live in south FL and it gets hot! My 10gen PW overheats.

I’ve recently purchased the kobo forma because it has a bigger screen than the oasis which is really helpful for me. I might get the kobo Elipsa if a second generation comes as I’d not like the fact that it doesn’t have a warm light. For £349.99 I would expect it to have a warm light for the price as it is about £110 to £150 more expensive than the kobo forma which costs £239.99 for 8gb or £289.99 for the 32gb.
I just got my Elipsa! I’m looking forward to trying it out. I’m surprised it doesn’t have warm light for that price, wow.

How many Hours Battery lasts?
My Oasis came a little more than a week ago and I find myself still using my Voyage simply because I don’t yet have a case for it and the case that I do want is $65 for the Premium Leather case. Big yikes, amazon. 😬

I'm very stuck between a oasis and a kobo forma I side load manga from comic converter so I'm honestly not sure which is best
I have a paper white but 6inches is little small for me
Oasis I trust Amazon quality wise
Kobo forma has 8inch screen but not sure if I trust it's build quality
Then Amazon could come out and be like
"Kindle oasis 8inch "
Keep in mind that in some countries, neither Goodreads, nor Audible are integrated in the Kindle (PW or Oasis).

I have the Oasis as well and I love it, the only part that concern me is that it dooes not charge at 100% it stays at 99 or 98...
That’s a weird one! I don’t have that issue. That last percent take a while sometimes to charge.

Put a wrap on it and screen protector and it will feel less fragile. I always take it out of the case because it feels so premium in the hand.

Feelings and facts are different things. I dropped it a few times and my children thought it was a toy and bounced it in the floor quite a few times. Tough E reader.

Can you search words in the dictionary manually?
Example: You click the word "working" then it says: "the act of working, related to work" so you erase the "ing" and search for work instead. Getting a more useful definition.

In the kindle's library, there's a folder that shows all the dictionaries you have installed, when you go into this folder and select a dictionary, you can search it and use it just like a regular dictionary.
You can just click on the word work within the definition and it will take you to the word's definition in the dictionary.

I like the content but now after watching a decent amount of videos I started getting really annoyed by the tone of the last word of every sentence. It sounds like everything is just one huge sentence filled with commas. For a caricature look up the guy from burger king foot lettuce meme.
Where were you last Tuesday? Why didn't you post this video last Monday? I bought the Paperwhite on Prime Day, which is not a bad device, on the contrary it is excellent but, maybe I would have invested the extra 100 Usd to buy the Oasis if I had seen this video before.

This review doesn't mention the version of Oasis (model year introduced, generation, etc) which is very frustrating as I'm looking for reviews on a refurbished product I'm contemplating buying. Thumbs way down.
