I talked to Bill "Dirtfishing" and we will be doing more Manticore vs D2 vids soon. We've both had a lot of things happen the last few months.

For one like you, been detecting since the early 80's, recently came back after about a 5 year break, have the money and bought everything, and yes wasted money and should of just bought the Manticore and saved the money, look forward to getting back to some old places from 20-30 years ago,,,,,Wow, time does fly, 🧓🏻In the old days I was Garrett man with the Grandmaster and all, but those guys have not kept up with today's detectors .
    Look forward to your videos

I have the Deus 2 but wanted to try the Manticore. I have the 800 and to be honest on the beach several times i had more finds in the water with the 800 than the Deus 2 and also in the dry sand. 800 ran a bit more stable however I am thinking I could dial the Deus in if I work at at it more but wanted to try the Manticore as well so I pulled the trigger on the sale. should get it tomorrow. I like watching your content both Etrac and Manticore as I still have my Etrac and also would like to make it lighter but like you said, not a great idea.

Lots of great gold finds on salt beaches with the Manticore. My 800 worked great on the beach.

Maybe you could do some Live Dig comparison videos Like manticore vs legend vs 800 kind of stuff? I am sure they would be a pain to film but people Love seeing how machines Perform in Real World Settings. Thats what made calabashs videos so good in the beginning.

Deus 2 is also up there to be honest, had the Manticore but went back to Deus 2 as finds rate went down, Nothing on the market can touch the Deus 2 in Iron Period...

White's Spectra V3i is the best metal detector ever made for the money. Nokta will be the best machine ever made. They have not yet made their best! Dilek and Nokta rock! T o m o r r o w !

Manticore more universal detector for all applications.
    Unlike Etrac.
We all know what Etrac’s strong suit is.
But some countries don’t have the higher conductive coins as we do.
Those hammered coins in Europe. Manticore slays.
How would Etrac do on them? Hmmm
I have my suspicions. IDK exactly.
I do know one feels good and the other is a TANK.

Good points TNS. You're use of the word "universal" is dead on. I used the etrac so long that "I thought" I missed it?.. But in reality the Manticore is a much better machine. BTW - I'm still butt hurt about the $500 discount! LOL. I enjoy and learn from your videos. Thank you for coming here with your wisdom.

The ETRAC IMO is far superior to any present machine other than the CTX. When you master the ETRAC, you don't have to keep adjusting its settings.
The Legend and ETRAC are the best combo out there.

For me, as a former analogue metal detectorist (Lobo), these metal detector comparisons are a b-s waste of time. Too many variables to make it viable. Make your choice, buy the thing and hold on to it and learn it. The "100hrs"learning tag is b-s, too. It takes a lot more time than that to thoroughly bond. Only use it for what you need it for. Spend at least a couple of years with it to really bond with it. Those who chop/change and suffer from what I call PO/SDs (Perceived Obsolescence /"Serious Detectorist" Syndrome) will always be in the vast majority. Step away from that track; don't be a "sheep". Old saying: "Beware the man with only one gun, for he surely knows how to use it". Once you and the machine "click" you may find another ,one, addition useful for a specific scenario. Me, I use a multi frequency machine for general work, in tandem with my F19 with either a 5" or at most 5x10" DD for highly Fe contaminated ancient (Roman/Medieval), site work. That suits me fine. I've used the F19 since 2016 and the Multi since 2022. Scoff at the F19? My tally of ancient coins et cetera from ancient sites says different..This is just my opinion mind. Your money, your opinions and your wants are your domain and good luck to you. The Manticore seems a very good machine indeed. Is it worth it's price tag? The owner is almost always going to say, "Yes", after shelling out all that amount of cash. Is it the best out there? Of course not. There is no "perfect" machine.

Great points. I felt with one with my etrac of ten years. I have videos of the F19 which I believe to be the best first Texas machine made. The bounty hunter Time Ranger Pro is the F19 now. TNSHARPSHOOTER says the gain goes up higher now too. I always felt my F19 had more to give because I could use it at full gain with no chatter at all. So it looks like the Time Ranger Pro has increased gain
