I just did a radiator replacement in my HDJ81 and added a transmission cooler from Wholesale Automatics in Australia. 1.5 day job, no big issues and everything works great, no leaks. Have fun in Moab. I want to go someday, need the time.
A lot more work than the FJ60 radiator. Well, maybe not a lot more work, but a little more. It took me about 3.5 hours, and I was outside waiting for it to snow. 8 years later and I need to change it out again! Hop you had a good time down in Moab
OB10153 member, looking forward to seeing the videos from the trip. Just a thought but I ran a 12-volt wire up thru my snorkel to have power in my RTT.
😂 that’s about right Now that I think about that week I wasn’t really trying to show anyone how to do anything and didn’t have the time to take to do so I was just bringing everyone along for the ride
Hi there, I brought a factory radiator from toyota. Did you need to tighten the transmission cooler tubes or where they preset? Mine are leaking but are also painted over so I wasn't sure if I should tighten???
Mathew Stanford I allways pull the fittings making it much easier to slide the radiator down in there then put them on if you got it all in and it’s leaking feel free to tighten
Huh, I bought a new OEM radiator from Toyota as well. Impex of Japan has them. The radiator came with the transmission fluid heater/cooler fittings installed and tightened. No issues.
I prefer brass for sure toyota no longer offers brass tank ones. That being said I’ve never had a problem with a plastic one that is not aged. They show you when to change pretty much because they start turning a tan color on the tanks
@@ozarkoverlandoutfitters9218 toyota might not sell them ..but natrad do about 700$..I have a low water sensor on mine..they are easy to take out..just a lot of work involved undoing taking the grille off .unlike in a toyota ute...they're easier..

What size hoses did you need? Im going to changing mine out once the parts arrive next week
Would be nice to know how many bolts and where. How to get the bolts out of the bracket
It's actually a lot easier talking radiator support out you can get bolts by top without taking headlights grill or battery box out
Taking sorry
