I don't play the pipes, but I love listening to them. I keep coming back to these videos of this wonderful musician.
Thank you for making them available.

I was playing with the Vale as a kid and Duncan, my maths teacher, and Gordon were my heroes. Amazing and humble musicians.

Thanks Gordon for your amazing compositions. I begun to play scottisch tunes in my galician bagpipes when I just heard "Andy Renwick´s ferret". Then I understood I had to get an GHB. Your talent was unreachable for any piper I had listened to. RIP.

Im pretty sure his death had much to do with the fact that he became an alcoholic, and was going through severe deppression, not to mention the long, cold winters in Scotland could have added to the equation. As hard as it may be to judge someone, its especially hard to judge an artist of this magnitude. but God bless his soul. He wont be forgotten.

Gordon Duncan, a damn piping legend.
Now why in the hell did he commit suicide? I thought it was cause he had no wife, but I just found out he did! Oh well. he's like the Curt Cobain for Piping.
In deed, we will all miss him ver much

That comparison was based on the fact that kurt commited suicide, as well as his known fame among the grudge community (gordon being the piping community)

@SirBagpiperIan Tragically he committted suicide on14th December, 2005

Makes me wonder why we tend to regard "potheads" differently from "alcoholics" ...
Both guys were real artists, and artists seem do do drugs. (As seen in other communities like Jazz etc.) Be it booze, pot, tobacco or whatever. Sad as it is, genius minds seem to unconsciously strive for self-destruction...
