- this was taped from the stage in 2009 at the College of Piping.. it was the only number I didn't play .. perhaps that's why it was my favorite part of the show all Summer..I got to just take a breather and enjoy.. plus they got better and better all Summer!! This is a creation of the Great and Wonderful STEPHANIE CADMAN!!

David Attenborough: And here, we see the peculiar mating ritual of the Scots.
These aren’t scots they are Americans good pipers but unfortunately Scotland doesn’t want them
...except it turned French at the end.
@@garethaustin6049 I'm fairly positive this is in Summerside, PEI
These aren’t Scots
I read that in Sir David Attenborough 's voice
absolute mad respect for the guy skipping while playing. many people don't understand just how hard that is so hands off to him (both of them did fantastic of course)
That dude is my little brother :)
I searched "two guys bagpiping aggressively at each other" I'm not disappointed
"Bagpiping each other"... Sounds like: case of death: killed by bagpiping xD
"Two guys bagpiping aggressively at each other"... Title of your friends sex tape
@@SlytherinGuy Gf
Who knows what tune this is please ty Gary Rooney
These dudes kilt it on stage.
that's terrible i love it
That, was completely awesome, Loved the bit where they actually played a few notes of the original dueling banjos. 10 for 10 all the way
First reply in 8 years mate. Btw hi
I'm not Scottish, but I've travelled to Scotland several times because I love it. These bagpipes bring tears to my eyes every time I hear them, especially on a remote loch or island where you don't expect to hear them. The sound carries far and blends with the wind...
Wtf...
+pachacamacs Could not agree more. I am from Norway myself, but I love Scotland to death. The day I am going under the ground they can cut me in half and bury one half in the Scottish highlands. I've spent the last four years vacation in Scotland and love it more and more. I felt instantly at home in Scotland.
Svein Engelsgjerd you guys need to chill
+pachacamacs It's like a Scottish mating call to attract the nearest lass :D
Native Scotsman here, all can say is.... ARE YOU MAD? The bagpipes were made to piss people off! XD
The tears it should bring are tears of joy once you know they are finished. Ever walked through a miners town during a Galaday? Just nonstop processions of brass and bagpipe bands. I sight to see and a sound to kill you sense of sound. XD
I can't tell you how many times throughout the years I've enjoyed this skit. It always puts a smile on my face.
When two scottish Regiments meet on the Battlefield, but no one wants to kill the others, but the Pipers hate each other
Excellent piping, guys!! My Dad had a piper on his squadron during the 2nd world war and fell in love with the sound. He could play any instrument by ear, and wanted to learn them. He was "instrumental" in bringing a piping teacher to our small town and he, my sister and brother all learned to play. Dad is gone now, but my siblings still play and are both pipe majors. I was a Highland dancer and taught for a long time. I really enjoyed this! :-)
If you hear dualling pipers piping you've gone to deep into the highlands. " There can be only one"
This is how marriage should work. You walk up to a woman and play the bagpipes to her. If she likes your song, you become wed.
+Toasty Wolfeh lol I would have been married already
awesome way to get married lol
In the least, she should undress...
+Danie Winchester I'm with a (russian, armenian, something pale and furry?) but his *name* is Scott. Does that count?
Toasty Wolfeh god yes
F**king brilliant, the sound of the pipes always sends a shiver down my spine and you can understand how enemies of the past would shit themselves when confronted with a hundred pipers before a battleaxe was even yielded...
Gotta love the age-old ritual of Love expressed like this. Kudos to all involved in it.
If all war/disputes could be solved like this
TopinBeals lol
obviously...then this world wud be heaven one day.Isn't it !!
we'd be all talking with a scottish accent
Carlos Chaves is that a bad thing
not if you handle a hangover it's not :b
Bagpipe music opens my heart...love it !
Both of you lads are awesome!!! Been a bag pipe player for 50 years!!!! AWESOME!!
+Rob and Rick- Chudej-Martin My father was Pipe Sgt. of The San Francisco Highlanders in the early sixties. Do you know of the once famous band or what ever became of them? Nothing came up but then, video of course was 8mm & not in the hands of everyone.
So skilled, loved this, a joust with bagpipes. Well done all involved. Thank you.
Nice to hear those bagpipes being played. They have a peculiar sound no other instrument can make. I have never been to Scotland or England for that matter but perhaps someday I shall visit those countries.
Don't bother going to England, it's a dump
As English as I am, and being a tenor drummer in my younger days,I just love the sound o’ the pipes!
I can watch that video, almost everyday, and it never gets old. I have never been interested in the bagpipes, until like six months ago. And, I am fifty now. These two guys definitely know how to play them pipes. They were definitely jamming in that set. I would love to see the rest of this show, what ever it is.
I love how bagpipes sound.
I know right?
When they're played properly.
So sweet❤
Ai was once told that a gentleman is one who knows how to play the bagpipes and doesn’t.
Yeah why do people hate on them?
Safe to say she's gonna find out who has faster fingers 😏
And that ladies and gentlemen... is a comment. Well done!
10/10
And a bigger pipe
Bwahaha! True story there!
I'm more interested in who can blow harder
I never tire of watching this. The skill involved is exceptional.
A perfect blend of Scotland and Appalachia!
Really, really, really cool! I don't normally like this sort of thing, but I stumbled upon it randomly here on YT and I'm glad I did........well done! :-)
Having played the pipes in the Army many many years ago (3RAR) I just can't imagine the practice these 2 guys put in to this.., well done.
pure joy to watch and hear. thank you.
I love the sound of the bagpipes. That's why i play them for 20 years. i'm not Scottisch, I live in the Netherlands. I'm playing traditional and also in a Scottisch Rockband named "Sassenachs". Really, it is stunning when you cross bagpipes with rockguitar & bass!
+George Willems do you know what Sassenachs means
+wulf 659 Yes I know. It is the opposite from Albanach, and it's also name for the Englisch and lowlanders. They call the Netherlands also the lowlands. So that's why we give that name to our band.
Hey george, 8 jaar later lees ik je post en wat leuk om te lezen. Ik ben nu net een jaar begonen aan de pipes. Hou ook van de combi van rock met pipes. Ik ga je band opzoeken!
Wish this was longer, especially the faster parts, I LOVE those, if you listen to them you can't help but smile and at least tap ypour feat to the rythm =)
That was very lovely. good music too.
THAT is an absolutely GREAT video. Dueling Bagpipes would have never occurred to me , but I Loved it, and such a classy ending as well.
This is so awesome!
I love the sound of the bagpipes!
Being of Scottish (Drummond) and some Irish descent, I have always loved the pipes, since I was a literally a baby. Dad used to take to the NC Highland games at Grandfather Mtn every yr. I am a singer but no talent with instruments- could never learn the pipes but I tried. My youngest sister is a damn fine piper. Played for my wedding, she plays for weddings, funerals, etc... I listen to the pipers from all over the world, many cultures had their own versions of the bagpipes but nowhere truly compares to Scotland (though Ireland comes close lol).
If there is music in the afterlife, then it better be bagpipes lol Btw these two are damn good, props to them
I absolutely loved this performance. 👍💪
Hilarious. Beautiful. Relatable. And the amount of skill and practice needed to reach such a level is impressive. Great job. And a cute ending to boot.
Why is a kilt called a kilt? Because a Scotsman kilt the last guy that called it a skirt.
lol clever
true story :-)
Seems accurate.
+TheStrii Why yes indeed!
+TheStrii Kilts... because trousers cant hold balls like these
Whish, i would be able to play this instrument. Love it.
It was splendid!! Those young lads were flawless
awesome. love to see the skill in these young men. thanks for posting
1:43 "Hey! You never grab another man's chanter!"
And she was never heard from again... sorry I meant “she never heard again”
I watched a lot of things to get here. Worth it.
This is what we call piping hot! Talent here outshines most. I never miss College piping at my Daughters school, every Tuesday. It warms my heart we have carried on this tradition.
Groundskeeper Willie: ach, that's a beautiful lass!
Still listening to this in 2022. Cheers 🍻
That was fun to watch!!!! Thanks for posting!
Dueling bagpipes right into Smoky mountain breakdown fuck the hell yes.
Playing the bagpipes has two modes "this is good music" or "oh gawd kill me." This is good bagpiping.
What I can't get over though, when they're circling each other they look like tom turkeys.
I mean, they're definitely strutting on each other like a pair of toms.
I love listening to the bag pipes! Awesome
well that was simply beautifully romantic as well as funny,,well done guys that was real fun to watch and listen too,,
Anytime I listen to bagpipe music, makes me miss my home Canadian province, Nova Scotia, also known as "New Scotland".
If you ever visit Nova Scotia, especially Cape Breton Island, Northern Mainland Nova Scotia, and the Halifax area, you'll often hear bagpipe music, especially during social, cultural, or even some sporting events.
me laughing. that's funny and with a silly story to it. great job, guys! LOL ^^
Great! my roots are in scotland and i love this playing
Dang! Bagpipes are AWESOME sounding ! :)
The girl had the easy part. All she had to do was stand there and look pretty.
And she did a damn fine job.
Which she did very well.
Leaving this at 69 likes
But at the end, she had to choose.
have you ever stood next to a highland er bagpipe? holy shit they are loud! so no, it was not easy to look pretty next to all those Db's of noise.
Well stand there
I like Scottish culture,so beautiful :)
Bestraalde beatbea
Love the premise & who but a heartless soul wouldn't play their lungs out for her. Wink
AMAZING gentlemen! Well played!!!
this is how wars should be fought...
Yah
Now that was cool.
how could someone dislike that? it's epic
Wow, this is great! Talented pipers!
I like to pretend we live in some 80's or 90's sitcom and this would be a real scenario happening. So Dope.
That was awesome. Plus either they're good actors and well rehearsed or there was genuine rivalry there.
J'adore "the pipes" !!!! (Grazie, nilmerfdarb !!!)
Wonderful. Just a wonderful experience.
Stags locking horns in Scotland :)
Well said two stags fighting for a doe they can get quite fierce
they played the Mason's Apron, I dance to that song!!
Perhaps not the _best_ video to watch while nursing a caffeine withdrawal headache, but even with that, that was some damn fine bagpipe playing.
The dude in the crowd going "COME ONNNN" at the end lol
plot twist: they both end up impressing each other so much that the two of them get together, leaving the girl behind.
I 1000% get behind this scenario!!!
That's exactly what I was thinking. Why fight over a girl when it can just be gay?
I was just thinking the funniest ending would be if the girl walked off with another girl who just happened to walk by.
@@AnonYmous-of8ep why?
Why does the girl lok so Irish?
I think i figuered three songs out after some research via the Internet:
00:41 - Old Wife of the Mill Dust
00:51 - The Gravel Walk
01:02 - The Masons Apron (I think they play it to the end of the video ... they just speed it further up)
Sadly i dont know the first songs =/
00:33 - Wings
I have been searching for the at 00:51 for over ten years my dad use to play it for me when I was young. Thank you.
Cool.
Thank you posting the songs, for me it was the 2nd song I was looking for that you posted ^_^
I want to play bagpipes now
i hear them every st. pats parade, both sides of family are irish
I love this so much!!!!
There's a college of piping? I have clearly chosen the wrong college to attend.
LaughingMan86U It's in Glasgow! Holds workshops for different abilities
aye they thought they had enrolled on a plumbing course
theres also one in canada.
Attended for a brilliant week years ago - is it still in Otago Street, Glasgow?
In Summerside Prince Edward Island to be exact.@@celest_iah
Im not Scottish or English, but I still like it!
by far the manliest thing I've seen today
Awesome. Found this after listening to the dueling banjos.
awesome fight for the girl with bagpipe music
damn that scottish girl is beautiful
hell yeah she is
+Friendly Fash Are they?
That's sad :(
+Friendly Fash Applachia? You sure their bloodline is pure? USA is a melting pot...
+lordmasterization White Americans like myself are pure bloods I'm pure Scottish , pure Irish , pure English , pure French , pure Native American and so on. I have family EVERYWHERE , I think it's awsome. Have a WONDERFUL WEEK !!! Peace and Love : )
A mighty Pretty Young Lass, Pride of Scotland
DELIVERANCE on PIPES at 1:04 MARVELOUS !!! I found this Post because I just bought my first Set [ McCallum AB1 ] .
Personally I was expecting the two pipers to leave with each other.
They both did her....one from the front, the other from the back and then they switched.......
😂😂😂😂
Tickle me tickle me you know where...
Under me kilt and in me hair🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Merry Christmas All!!!
We have long list of races of people in my family background. Scottish and Irish are part of my family background. With bagpipe I am so proud to see Scottish man or Irish man in a kilt. It brings joy to my heart and my soul. I love you my ancestors from Scottish and Ireland. Keep wearing those kilts with respect, pride, love, joy and peace.
+da112568
Em, not to be too pedantic but the the Irish were not kilted.
+Barry Webster Without ignorances, I am fully aware of kilts comes from Scotland. In the 20th centruy, It was adopted to the Isles by the Irish nationalists. I understand. In the 16th century, Scottish people have created/produced the kilts long time ago. Take care and be safe. Enjoy your day and your night of peace at Scotland.
I just clicked because of her skirt but now I love bagpipers. Btw in France we say ''Cornemuse'' for that instrument. I just found that it's a funny name
I was expecting the lads to become so enamored with each other's playing that they walked off together & left her standing...
That would have been funny, but she is just too pretty to make that at all plausible. The threesome was a more likely development.
I was like "One of em's about to riverdance." None of them do.
"Dangit!"
XD
Ah yes, two lads bagpipe battling for a pretty lass. Perfect.
Amazing! Awakens my inner highlander.
congratulation verry performer
Here in America, we have dueling banjos, in Scotland they have dueling pipes. I think we all know who wins here
🏴
Niggas?
why choosing, when you can have pipies and banjos :D czcams.com/video/2Rb4QQGR9EQ/video.html
@@Jaed_Marauder you brought me something I didn’t realized I needed, thank you!
really love it!!... a lovely bagpipe scotland
Good video, and I have to say that the red head was absolutely beautiful.
I was expecting a drummer to come out from back stage and she walks off with him!
I picture this happening in the time of the Saxons. "Oi! You, prick, we're gonna settle this right now. You and me let's go right now, pipes to pipes. May the best lungs win and most importantly..... Freeeeedoommmm"
Guuuaaauuu que maravilla 👏👏👏👏👏. Muchas gracias
So beautiful and touching amazing you guys gotta be proud 👍
For a girl like that I could play an entire orchestra alone.
But I'm not sharing!!!
There is something incredibly primeval about this...
