  • For the first video it only seems proper to show my first time (fourth time in the plane) flying ground reference maneuvers (s turns and turns around a point). We added some slow flight, stalls, and steep turns into the mix, and ended our day with some pattern work at KTVC. Biggest thing I have come to realize is that flying takes a lot of work and practice, but it's worth it. Don't get discouraged and keep learning.

    An instructor giving a student the gift of flight is one of the most beautiful things someone can do.

    Happy Summer Everyone! I have been out of training most of this year, and have not been keeping up with the channel. If you are a fan of the previous material please check back as I will start uploading again this fall/winter when I return to training.

      Great video. Great instruction and good vibe. Seem like a squared away and chill instructor.

    That is the perfect spot for the Ipad. I think it covers up the clock but I can just add another clock somewhere else.

    That student is arrogant and irritating and distracted. That instructor seems very patient and intelligent. Would love to see more videos of this instructor teaching.

      Lol what? That student seems fine, I’d kill to have a student like that, you must have never had an actual arrogant student

      @@388sbc5 thanks for the kind words and sorry for the late response. I recently switched to a 141 school which doesn’t really allow for us to film flights as I did here in part 61 training. I’m hoping to start adding some videos here and there as I start doing some flying outside of the school setting. Fingers crossed anyways! Happy Holidays!

      Michael, truly bummed to see you feel that way. This video was my 6th flight ever(4th in that plane), I was all over the place and quite nervous at that time to say the least. I’m sure I tried masking some of my nervousness in ways that came off weird, but I have never been one to be arrogant, if anything I am always undercutting my skills, and thinking I need to be better. Either way, thanks for watching. Sorry for the late response.

    In the power on stall it should be a full stall not just a buffet. This is according to ACS standards.

    • @mepaviation
      @mepaviation  Před rokem +1

      Eliot, I stopped because I switched to a 141 program, and it tends to be difficult, and lightly frowned upon for students to record flights in this manner. I am hoping to add some more videos here and there soon as I start to do some flying outside of the training program(hopefully). Sorry for the late response, finally just starting to revisit the channel. Happy Holidays!!

    One major really important question. HOW DID YOU MOUNT THAT ipad. I really like it and I just started flying the Piper 140 just like this one. Can you tell me what parts and how you mounted it.

    • @mepaviation
      @mepaviation  Před rokem +1

      Hey! Sorry it took a while to respond. I don’t get around to checking this channel much anymore. The Mount is honestly just a regular store bought unit that just seemed to work well in this location. I also used a yoke Mount for a while as well(not my favorite). At this time I was using an iPad mini which is great for these setups. I’ll include a link to the exact mount below if you want to try it.

    NEVER accept an intersection departure.
    Runway BEHIND you is of ZERO value.

    • @mepaviation
      @mepaviation  Před rokem

      It’s few and far between where we do accept an intersection departure. However, one of our runways is 6,000, and the other has a displaced threshold allowing the C2 intersection to still obtain full length. We will jump the intersection here and there if the a/c ahead is waiting IFR release or something, but again few and far between. Great statement though, more runway is never a bad thing!
