- A last minute decision means I will have to leave the boat in Costa Rica. So we go for one last sail, and what an extreme sail it was!!
SV Parlay is a hurricane damaged Lagoon 450 catamaran, which Colin rebuilt with friends and has started sailing around the world. They found bulkhead damage on their catamaran in Panama, so have fixed her up, and are almost ready to cross the Pacific Ocean!!

What a difference in how the inside of the boat sounds after you fixed it. I remember how it would creak and groan in rough water. You can tell that your hard work paid off. She is solid and quiet now.

Another inspiring episode! I finally launch in the morning to begin my own adventure. 3 years in the making, selling house, getting rid of everything, finding the boat, getting it ready, and the time is finally here. Leaving Florida for the Bahamas then on to Puerto Rico and the rest of the Caribbean. Been inspired by you and your channel to make this a reality and it is finally coming true. Thanks Colin and Parlay crew for all the inspiration!
That crew was a lot of fun, playing with us, just exactly what you need for CZcams.! I have seen more crazy sails, especially those going between Fiji and New Zealand and the reverse of that, seems like the wind knows your coming and goes the wrong way !

Best part of this video IMHO, it's the middle of the night, you're in the saloon with the camera talking to us and it's blowing a stink outside and not ONE creak noise from the boat, EPIC. You and the crew did a masterful job on the bulkhead rebuild and all the other suspect areas.

I love watching sailors catching fish. My favorite thing is catching King Mackerel while under sail on my Hobie Tandem Island. To do it from a beast like your catamaran is awesome, a team effort and everyone has to be on their game to get it done.

This is the exact perfect episode for Parlay and the original intent of the channel . I hope to see more of this content, with Ben. Sailing, fishing, surfing, land exploration, and boat repairs. Any other channel strives to Sail the world.... How many videos of sailing into 40 mph winds can you see? With this content you can have charters exploring different areas, doing different things, with different crew, Collin, Jamie, and Ben can go off doing their things and each one a series or an episode. Collin, who is great with new crew, can record his episodes returning home, doing boring tv shows, surveying a boat, helping with boat repairs, and sailing Parlay.. In my opinion much more interesting content than just sailing the world to a new destination and exploring it for a few days.

I love listening for the creaking/groaning timber scrapping together noises when you are on passage. There aren't any. The background is silent. With your skills, sandpaper and grp you have tied all of the moving parts of Parley into 1 unit. I imagine other cats twisting as they go over waves but doubt that Parley does. It is a testament to your skill and determination. There is a reason Kiwi's are sought after overseas. Its cause we are good. 😎

The water is in the diesel when you fill the tank, it's not "condensation". It comes out of the diesel -or back in- with changes in temperature. If you leave your tanks full, more diesel means more water.

Hey Colin, for fishing while sailing re: speed control, what if you set up a small pair of sea anchors to drag only a few feet aft of sugar scoops so you could pull them back up readily when fish is nearest to boat to avoid interference ? Just be sure to rig a line to collapse anchor, by turning it 180 degrees away from water flow for easy recovery.
