Katie reminds me of the actress that played Aunt Hilda (Caroline Rhea) from Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Celebrity doppelgänger!!
👀👏👏👏
She reminds me of the actress that played Claudia on the T.V. sitcom Grounded For Life”
Funny, she reminds me of Catherine O'Hara, but I can see Caroline rhea too!
That’s what I thought too!
@@krisdiane This is the correct answer. even the voice.
I would love to see you teach Katie about the reasons you might want to use each different product she has now tried on different types of nails for best durability ? Love watching you teach Suzie, you are a natural teacher!
Great idea
I watched your videos daily in 2017 & 2018. I was considering becoming a nail tech/artist. Then my biz took off and I worked all the time (I’m grateful, not complaining)
So excited to see your product line!! I still do my own nails & can’t wait to get my order. ❤
1) Katie is such a cutie, and it is so lovely to see the friendship you two have🤗
2) Yes, do a video on different lamps! I have a good one _now_ , however when I researched which lamp to get - wowzahhh, so many types and prices, I had a very cofusing time finding which one to get that was great, but didn't break the bank! UV-lamps, LED-lamps, UV/LED lamp combos and different strengths of watts which cured different products at different stages
3) Also - show & tell! You know, how many lamps does Suzy have hidden in the back of her closet, that cameraman may, or may not know about😂
😂😂😂😂
I feel like Im watching a sitcom with two extremely likeable characters and Im here for it ladies. ❤
That shade of green looks stunning on you Katie!
THANK YOU! You're too sweet! Suzie and I take great care to dress nicely for filming!
You two are SO much fun to watch!
The two of you are such a joy to watch! I was told that hard gel is better than acrylic if you are a nurse or bartender who has their hands always in water. Is that correct Suzie? I have learned so much from your excellent teaching skills , info and designs. Thanks for the tip on opening up the jar of gel product. Once again you always have great hacks. Hope to see more of you both and give us some bling nails for Christmas please. Thanks also Cameraman for all you talents too!
We just finished our Christmas bling video
It’s not true about having Gel over Acrylic if hands are in water. I had many clients who were nurses/ professional cleaners and no issues with constant water- if the ‘fake’ nail is adhered properly water is never an issue
Most of the nail techs in my area use gel exclusively because of the ease. With new people moving in they are having a hard time finding someone lie me that can also offer acrylic. (Love Celina's work!!)
That's interesting! My area is exactly the opposite. It's like no one knows what hard gel is. I think it's really because they've optimized salons to let techs work on other clients during soak offs of acrylic but you can't do that with hard gel.
Yes. It really does depend on your area. I find Gel is more popular because it is quite a bit easier to learn. And this is the explosion of hybrid gel ( Polygel ) and of course the newest explosion with the full cover tips. But each of these nails are getting further and further away from the custom built nail built from a form. And that’s fine, but if you still like that natural custom fit, then there’s nothing like acrylic or hard gel or even hybrid Gel built on a form designed to fit your nails specifically.
I want her to scream “KEVIN!”
😂😂😂😂
O M G thank you!!!! I was dying trying to figure out who she reminds me of 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I came here to say the same thing!
Yesss she does look like that actress! 😂
Yesss
I love these two together! Your best friends now in my mind!😂
I've been doing my own nails since 1984ish. I'm self taught & love it. The hard gel is new to me this year. I really like it. This video was very helpful. Best teaching video I've watched on gel nails! Thank you!
Thank you! I learned in school to just apply the gel like polish, with no consideration for apex! 😩 now I have a full set to do tomorrow and thankfully found your video for reference. The tip to flip the hand over is so helpful. I’m going to practice a bit today after my other clients.
I have tried a very thich hard builder gel as overlay on my M sized nails after using base gel for a year.
First time it was not only lumpy and bumpy...it was a literal relief map that i needed to file down for a long time 😂
Even these 2 products are so different!
I love the ending ssoooo MUCH!❤️🥹
I enjoy watching you two together.❤
Oops! I didn't realize the apex needed more love and attention with gel. Thanks for another educational lesson!! I've been following you and other CZcams nail ninjas to learn how to use gel products to protect and fix my nails after over 2 years of chemotherapy, and it's been working pretty well so far!!! I'm still real new to all this, and I love watching students doing gels for the first time because it gives me confidence to try. 🥰Thanks for all your tips!!! (Tips pun intended; you're welcome!)
Yes, like any nail the Apex is crucial to its longevity. But Gel is easy to lose it because it’s self levels so incredibly well.
I’m sorry you’re going through so much with chemotherapy. That’s so hard. Keep your spirits up and be creative with Nails is a wonderful distraction. ❤️🎄❄️
@@NailCareerEducation Oh! Yes! Nails are a good way to distract because it requires so much mental focus, and who among us isn't easily distracted by shiny objects? As for gel, I had a nail break a few days after I did my prettiest manicure yet, and I couldn't figure out why. Now I know: Apex. I think it actually broke where the apex shoulda been. In fact, it exposed my nail underneath! It totally makes more sense now, so I know I need to build it better during my next manicure. Polygels ain't cheap, so I hate wasting product.
Nevertheless, I have pics from before I started doing my nails with your tutorials. Chemo nails aren't pretty, deep ridges, Beau's lines, sandpaper-rough, paper thin, cracking, chipping, peeling down the center! Just awful! Your tutorials have helped literally keep my nails from falling apart. I know it sounds dramatic, but it's TRUE! My nails look so much better even between manicures now... It's unreal! I can't ever *thank you* enough.
You two are just so enjoyable! Made my day🥰
HAPPY Thanksgiving to your family and furbabies
Loving the energies in this video! You guys are so fun to watch! ❤
She's a lucky lady getting taught by a nail guru. Is it just me or does she look so much like Catherine O'Hara?
I feel VERY fortunate to have crossed paths with Suzie and Cameraman! ♥️♥️💋🇨🇦
Yes! I was thinking Caroline Rhea circa Sabrina the Teenage Witch, but she looks like both of them!
I love your videos!! Ive been following for a little over a year, I've learned most of what I know about nails from your videos! You were my Inspiration to start doing my own nails... now I can do friends nails! Keep up the amazing work there are many of us who truly appreciate what you do!
Alternative title: “Watch Katherine O’Hara’s first lesson building gel nails” 😂
Omg yes!
I have wondered about the gels “crawling out” of their jars. Can’t count how many times I’ve opened a pot to find the gel all in the threads even though I’m sure it never got tipped on its side!🤔🤣🥰
Yes, it’s horrible and annoying. One of the reasons why I dislike Gel. But it has such a great shine so I’ll forgive it.
I find exactly the same thing. You have to do a clean up job before you even start. At least now I know it's not because I've done something wrong.
This is so awesome ladies ❤Thanks so very much. I did my nails last week and I was looking for videos like this. Please please make more ❤
I love you I love your videos and I'm learning so much on my Polygel overlay journey that is helpful! I also love the two of you together!
I love it how you became nail besties!
Love ❤️ watching your videos and designing nails 💅🏾
These videos are so much more helpful than tutorials x
I agree I love them
What a cute friendship! I love it!
I love this series
thank you for sharing this, i’m learning how to do my own nails and this is so helpful. thank you so much for always sharing, for always teaching, and for always being you 🩷
What timing! I'm just learning hard gel while waiting for my NCE glass gel to arrive! I have yet to master forms - no real desire to since I am a DYIer, but love using full cover tips as dual forms to pop off. A clean cuticle with very little filing needed.
Loving this video ya'll are a hoot!! Just got a shipment in getting another in a few days, gotta say I'm in love with my practice finger!! Thanks for my finger Miss Suzie😊
Loved this video, you both were very funny.
wow!such an amazing gel tutorial it was.Tysm Suzie for telling us every lil detail about the gel system. I always enjoy the way you teach us nail technicians. I've learned so much from you. Keep up your good work. And btw Suzie. Can you pls invite some nail designers to teach us how to draw professional arts? I appreciate it.💋❣💕💗💖💘
Great videos! Learn so much. Thank you.
Actually,în România europe ,we don't cure that first coat.. becouse its find it way hard.. if you leave it wet..will spread good 🤗💋
Very informative, enjoyed watching ❤
Lol. I'm loving this
I'd looove to see you show how to build sculpted long nails using forms with this gel product please
I just finished creating my Christmas video for this year and I’m using all my gel product built in sculpted on the form. You’re gonna love it there gorgeous
@@NailCareerEducation yes omg thank you!
I wished I was the one setting there getting the lessons but this is still as good. Thank you so much for sharing this great info. 💖💖💖🤗
It's a dream come true that's for sure! ♥️
LOL you crack me up too. 🤣😂
I love your videos. 🥰🥰 Thank you for telling me to wear a mask. 🥳🥳🥳 I use builder gel for my nails. You 2 are great together. Make lots of more videos. Thank you bunches ❤️😊❤️😊❤️🥰🥰🥰🥰
THANK YOU!!!!
Katie looks like she could be Catherine O'Hara's twin! 💕
katie keeps that big brush😁😆
😂
Really enjoyed this video. I still am having trouble with builder gel. Still trying!
Omg. My gel polish was curing as I was swiping it on. I was sitting in front of a big window!! I figured that’s what happened but now I know.
ur the best teacher
Oh my goodness I need this product, looks fantastic!! My only question is, could I use this on nail tips instead of using a form? You’ve taught me so much, can’t wait to learn more!! 🖤
You guys are so cute 💖
How does one get so lucky to become your student? Can I get a link , love all you videos they just make sense and when you break it down wow!
🥰 aweee- I offered classes between 2 to 4 times a year in person in Victoria BC usually. nailcareer.com has all the information. Will be posting a new class coming up in January February 2024 in Victoria BC.
I love the videos with Katie! I have a question - why when using gel polish you are always told to keep the coats super thin in order to ensure proper curing, but builder gel can go on so thick?
Great question. The reason is because builder gels are generally clear or a very light color. If it has any color, it’s specifically designed to cure all the way through while being applied thick. But gel polish is incredibly pigmented so it has a very strong colour at a very thin layer. Because of that pigment it’s harder to Cure all the way through. So it is designed to cure when it is applied thin. When you apply it to thick and try to cure , it sometimes will not cure properly / resulting in peeling wrinkling, lifting, etc..
@@NailCareerEducation thank you so much Suzie! That makes sense 😊
@@NailCareerEducation Yes, I have learned that about gel polish the hard way. I had to remove everything and start all over again.
I LOVE GEL .
Please please please more builder gel videos.
Superb ma’am❤
Very informative! Husbands are people too 😉😂
Yes! I need to learn how to with gel. Anything gel lol.
Katie looks a little like Catherine O'Hara! Great video
Omg, she does!
I've turned into a gel girl but I think it's important to know all the different enhancement products
Hey suzie do all salons do builder gel overlay and how would you ask? ♥️😇
Do you have a video of the both of you doing hybrid gel?
One question as a beginner i have is why do we need an apex? Im not a big fan of thick nails that have that giant lump on the base. what specific reason do we need one? and can I get away without making one?
Can you do a video using the magic gel system? I want to know what you think of the Acrygel.
is this the difference between builder gel and polygel that is more runny?
Build your gel can have a thicker viscosity like mine. Poly gel is much more firm. Heads up poly gel is actually a brand, hybrid gel is actually the product name.
Just found this video. Wanted to ask. How do your gel cure in a LED lamp? the gel i have only cure in a UV lamp. the one with 4 big light bulbs. it never cure in the LED lamp with the small lights. and it even say UV/LED on the gel Jar
Cool, but nothing beats acrylic.
one thing that suzie doesn't mention and i wish i knew before having a course ou buying the wrong one, is that the alcohol she talks about for cleaning or molding gel is isopropyl alcohol, not just any alcohol, like ethyl alcohol. i really like her videos!
Good point - 70% is excellent
No Gin or Rum either 😂
Can you use the glass gel for an overlay on natural nails. And if so can you do a video.
Yes, it is specifically designed to use a natural nails
Miss Susie seems to have a new bff/student
I would like to see pink and white gel done
A little off topic from this video but I got 9 new jars of color dip powder, they are all chunky with darker color chunks! So it looks spotty on your nails, sometimes it's a cool look but not how I want my powder to be!! How can I fix it??? I've tried to strain it out but not all chunks are coming out!
Either buy the one you really want or double layer it
@nailcareereducation I just bought my first set of polygel and it doesn't work for me the forms won't stay on my fingers any advice
Yes wipe you skin with alcohol - remove oils
@@NailCareerEducation thank you
Do you have any full tip gel x extension videos
Yes, if you go to my channel and search playlist, you’ll see a bunch
Ok, so hybrid gel you call the acrygel or polygel? Thank you! ❤
Can you do a video on builder gel with the French cut style? I know you have an older video using acrylic and that barrel tool but I’d love to see it with builder gel and design if possible!! #learninghowtodomyownnails #loveyourvideos
Do u find that gel or poly gel lift off the practice finger more than your natural nail. 🤔 I so want you to start that academy.
How about LED 75 -100 watt equivalent light bulbs? Will it cure the Gel too???
Why the Gel hurts when you cure it ?
Can you adhere a fake nail on top of this gel and it hold or not pop off?
What Is your filter on camera that you have that dreamy effect? 😁
Wait...do you not put on a base coat first? The thin coat is the base coat?
Did you do 3 layers?
Did she raise her prices just before the sale? I had stuff in my cart from earlier. I knew the exact amount I would need and was just waiting for my check to clear. It finaly did and I came back to by the stuff and its no where near the total I had before.
They should make the aluminiumlid with a lifter. Personally I removed it from all of the jar, the sides aswell but I no longer use gel in a jar, only in a bottle, so much easier to work with and no cleaning of the brush.
🥰🥰🥰
Can you please review kiara sky’s acrylic nails ?! Can you really apply them with acrylic?😮😮😮😮😮❤❤❤❤❤ ps been watching you since I was 15 I’m 22 now 🫶🏽 I’ve learned so much from you
What will happen when you get assertion in your gel
How many coats of clear is required please?
Until you feel you e reached the thickness you need - but 1-3 is average
Hi,do you provide any lessons privately besides your lovely videos ?
I am working on Zoom Live classes
I wanna buy the gel on your website. Im from the Netherlands and i can't find my country on your website..
Can you help me?😔
Just go ahead and place your order, I don’t believe it will have any issues getting through. If you do email me at hello@nailcareer.com.
@@NailCareerEducation i just did! But i didnt get the Netherlands, but i will email you! Thank you!
Wow I lent something so the first gel you need to cure it for 60sec wow I did not know that
Tell me about it …mine has crawled out of the jar and spilled /dripped to the bottom and when I go to pick it up, I have to pry it off. Now I put it on a ceramic tray so don’t ruin anything else and clean it up with acetone.
It's so eerie, when I got my first tube of hybridgel you made a video. Yesterday I bought my first little tub of clear gel. :D (I hated using it for the first time...)
i wich you can come to South Africa and teach me 😅
I thought you don't cure the slip layer?? :O Am I supposed to?
L I K E 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤💛 💚 💛❤🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
I did notice it was sticky after I cured it
Do you use 70 or 99% rubbing alcohol?
Are you 70% I find it is the best, especially with Hybrid Gel
