Trevis Gibson showed a lot in preseason, but we still cut him. In my opinion, Dominique Robinson is gone
They thought Travis was more of a 3-4 DE, and just didn't produce enough.

Velus is fast but has absolutely no football skills, after 6 years in school and 2 in pros. He won’t make the team.

I love our roster. Poles has done a phenomenal job in just over 2 years. I'd say B or B+ but we can get that to an A if Dexter can step up as a solid starter+ in the middle of the D-line. As of right now, Montez Sweat is the only D lineman that stands out. Most Elite Defenses have at least 2 or 3 standout guys starting up front. I have high hopes for Dexter and the new kid out of kansas (He was a straight robbery at 144), but it has yet to be seen. If Jenkins can stay healthy and our 2 young tackles take another step forward... We will be watching some bears football late into winter.
I’d say c at best he’s drafted 26 players so far and no pro bowler. He has only made two hit trades, he has nailed his linebackers signings and jj and billings the rest not so great. He has gotten extremely lucky but if he doesn’t have a winning season soon it’s all going to blow up

The Bears roster continues to shape up and I'm particularly impressed with who we have at the skill positions. I think our depth overall could stand some improvement, with a focus on that depth in the trenches. Our OL & DL are good, but not great and not deep. I suspect those two units are going to be addressed heavily in next year's draft.

They will probably need 4 TEs. Waldron plays a lot of 13 personnel which is 3 TEs oat one time.
Bears Roster ----> C. They have lots of individual players with talent. The Packers and Vikings have TEAMS.
The O Line is still just so so without a ton of depth and the D line same so so and no second pass rusher so even with Caleb and all the crazy offensive weapons still give Bears roster a B. That said if guys like Booker and Kiran can make contributions that would elevate things a bit but probably doubtful in year one.
I would put Velus ahead of Collin Johnson with the new kickoff rules and his use in the backfield last year

I think they would carry 7 Corners and keep Reddy Stewart on the active instead of quindell johnson. They payed him as much as tyson last year which is a big commitment for a udfa.

I disagree slightly d rob is younger than Kareem so Kareem is out let’s not get it twisted Kareem isn’t good either but the nod goes to the younger guy. I like stroman over Blackwell. I just checked the top 50 defenders in nfl and Edward’s was our highest at 14. We only had 3 in top 50 and I was super surprised that not a lot of sweat love he was at 35 highest I found on him in rankings was fantasy at 19th so on paper we only have 3 top 50 defenders Edmund’s was the other one super shocked to see jj left off. So I honestly don’t believe we got that great of defense now I was thinking we had 6 in the top 50 but nope. So still a lot of work to do.

Claypool was only on the roster for less than a full calendar year, while Jones is in his 3rd season, so Poles obviously still believes in him. Collin Johnson is currently Jones' only competition to make the 53-man roster. If Poles viewed him like you obviously do, then why wouldn't he bring in more competition?
