Also, fwiw, I watched someone use a pair of Nail Punch Sets in a pillar drill - held in a pillar drill vice at the bottom and the chuck at the top - to form a nice domed rivet head in mild steel (so it should also work great in brass). With the chuck spinning, it didn't appear to take much pressure to form the head of the rivet.

I love this mod. I use this same kind of tool for my cigars, the cigar cutters on this tool are some of the best. I have always looked to something more upscale like this. if you decide to make another for purchase or if this one is for sale please send me a note, I am interested.
You could use the sigar cutters to strip the insulation of thick electric cable's

I got behind on my orders in 2023... But I am doubling down and working on getting caught up. I must confess though, these build videos set me back each time. They take a bunch of extra time...
I think in this case fits better the corkscrew, some one who loves wine and cigars would appreciated more... but as always good job, good video...

Hey, (It popped into my head while I was watching the video) why don't you use a press instead of a hammer to crimp your rivets at the end? (something like a modified small drill press, (if I translate correctly))

Just a press wouldn't work because it would bend the brass rod.
But like you said a drill press with a blunt tip might work well. It's definitely worth trying.

Is the smoothness/sharpness of the scissors ever affected by the etching and washing?
The Victorinox scissors are "self sharpening". So they still perform the same after acid etching.

How do you custom a 91mm owl into 58mm titan?
You'll need to modify the pivot bore and do some grinding on the awl for it to fit in a 58mm.

Originally the price for a build like this was around $400. But, now Victorinox has discontinued the Victorinox Cigar models. That really drives the price up. So, it'd be closer to $500.
