    I’ve probably watched this video 50X today trying to re-assemble and can’t understand how you do it so easily with no jigs and tools. I’ve been fighting to keep tools engaged with the springs every time I add a tool.
    You clearly have the strongest fingers on the planet!

    • @FittoSurvive
      @FittoSurvive  Před 5 měsíci +4

      🤣 Sorry to hear about your troubles. Try placing the tools and springs for 1 Layer on the pins but leave one tool off the spring. Add your next liner and only then try to depress the spring with a long tool and force the remaining tool into place.
      Be careful not to gouge or scratch the spring with the long tool that you use to depress the spring.
      Hopefully that helps!

    Your video is great, when you put your blades in the container with pieces of brass, you but water?

    Do the scissors need sharpening and would the brass wash roughen and dull the scissors?

    • @FittoSurvive
      @FittoSurvive  Před rokem

      Acid and brass will make the scissors dull, but the Victorinox scissors are self sharpening. So, simply by opening and closing the scissors a couple of times it will sharpen again. 👍🏻

    Really nice work and beautiful result.

    Many thanks.

      Hello.
      Thank you!
      There is not a particular temperature for the acid. I keep it in a "hot bath" and try to keep the water close to boiling.
      You are very welcome.

    Do the g10 liners decrease durability or sturdiness at all?

    • @FittoSurvive
      @FittoSurvive  Před 5 měsíci

      Not at all. The G10 is a composite material that is significantly stronger than the original aluminum liners.

    If I send you my Victorinox Rangergrip 57, can you replace the can opener with a set of scissors?

    • @FittoSurvive
      @FittoSurvive  Před 2 lety

      I don't think so. The can opener is a shorter secondary tool. The scissors could only be added by adding another layer.

    Did you use pure ferric Chloride? Or did you mix it with water? And what do you do after the etching? Leave the parts in oil? Anyway great looking knife! Your video's are awesome

    In more detail can you explain the brass wash part? Is it just scrap brass in a container with water and then the tool in the mixture?

    • @FittoSurvive
      @FittoSurvive  Před 2 lety +1

      Sure thing. It is brass scrap in a container with water, I toss the tool in one at a time, and shake it semi aggressively for about 30 seconds.
      If that doesn't make sense, Google "how to stone wash at home".
