I’ve probably watched this video 50X today trying to re-assemble and can’t understand how you do it so easily with no jigs and tools. I’ve been fighting to keep tools engaged with the springs every time I add a tool.
You clearly have the strongest fingers on the planet!
🤣 Sorry to hear about your troubles. Try placing the tools and springs for 1 Layer on the pins but leave one tool off the spring. Add your next liner and only then try to depress the spring with a long tool and force the remaining tool into place.
Be careful not to gouge or scratch the spring with the long tool that you use to depress the spring.
Hopefully that helps!
You make it look so easy, great video ! Good tool selection in a pocket friendly size.
Keep up the entertaining and educational content.
LOL Yeah, the editing helps. 🤣
Thanks, I will do my best!

Beautiful knife! The brass scales and black G10 really look great! And it's very cool to see an already useful Compact get the tool upgrades to the Yeoman! Excellent job! Plus, I love seeing the entire process of disassembly, cleanup, customization and re-assembly!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the project and the tutorial. 👍🏻👍🏻
This one came out aaawesome again! And the video. It has it all really perfectly made howto tutorial. The darkness of the tools is phenomenal. Much respect 🙂👌👌👌👌

Thanks! Glad to hear that.
I have no intention of ever disassembling or reassembling one of these, but your videos are things of beauty and so hard to turn off! Love them and I know I need to have you make one for me. Now it's just choosing what tools I want.
Thanks a bunch! I am thrilled to hear that! Sounds great!
Compact is the best two row victorinox. Best combo of tools and thin and light. And cheap. Amazing value and so usable.
I agree the compact is one of the best.
that is indeed extraordinary
Thank you
Perfection.Great work.👍
Thanks.
Clean build dude, appreciate this. Copper scales awaited ship wreck patina)) wish you luck and inspirations in your projects!
Thank you! I appreciate it. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This is excellent I think you are an amazing artist
Thanks a bunch! I really appreciate it.
This one is REALLY cool. Very steampunk (in a good way).
I'm mostly into the woods-focused SAKs but this one would be really good for around the house and urban areas (and it's just beautiful).
Thank you! I was pleased with how it turned out. 👍🏻👍🏻
FANTASMAGORICAL. Love it .
😂 Thanks.
Very cool, love the G10 inserts.
Thanks!
I won’t lie. Seeing this build makes me really want the same knife but with copper!
Copper would look great too!
Perfect job, man!!!
Thanks! 👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome workmanship! 😎👍🏻
Thank you! I appreciate it.
Beautifully done and a great name 😎
Thanks a bunch!
Eres muy grande! Tus modificaciones están a otro nivel. Felicidades desde Barcelona. Cuando pueda intentaré comprarte una de tus creaciones. Un saludo

Very cool. Nicely done.
Thank you!
One word - Epic! Just subscribed.
Awesome! Thanks a lot!
Beautiful work .... Love it!!!!
How much would it cost to get a ditto piece like that from you??!!!
@@vaibhavgupta3618 A knife like this costs around $280.
Beautiful man!
Thank you!
Compact is my favorite stock 91mm, having said that I’d definitely carry that yeoman, stellar work as usual!
The Compact really is a good but thin toolset. The Yeoman makes it just a bit better.
@@FittoSurvive spydernox yeoman would be interesting… with maybe an unmodified blade but I don’t think that would work unless you did another layer on top of what you did here.
@@antonsimanov Yeah, to have an unmodified Spyderco blade an extra layer would be needed.
@@FittoSurvive If you added the extra layer for the Spyderco blade could you fit in one of your custom saw blades on the other side?
Genial lo que hiciste!!
Mis repetos!!
Gracias!
So far the best mod on Utube mate. Cowabunga.!
Thanks! I really appreciate that!
love it!!!
Awesome!
great job. looks amazing! =)
Thank you! I appreciate it
Every Victorinox is more compact than every compact knife of the world which is not a Victorinox.
The Name of this knife is Model 244, Sir. The Brand your audience has to find out by themselve.
That‘s th thrill.
After your work it‘s a still Modell 244. it‘s the Knife (In French: le couteau).
So your work is just You as a Capacity for our favorite Companion.
Fantastic. Thank a lot, Sir.
For You.
Cu
That is very true. 👍🏻 Thank you!
Beautiful
Thank you!
Nice work!

The Greatest show on Utube. Cowabunga mate.!
Wow! That's a major compliment! Thanks. 👍🏻😉
very classy
Thank you! Cheers!
Awesome!
Thanks!
Such a Yeoman is still one of the best SAKs. You designed it great. Today I would do it a little differently. The scales are a little too thick for my taste and I would replace the magnifying glass. But otherwise I think it's really great❗️
Thanks. Yeah, there are some options to improve on this build.
Great job thanks for sharing
Thank you!
Nice job! I would love to see an update on this knife with the patina look on the scales.
This knife went to a customer, so unfortunately i didn't get to see the patina.
Im doing this 😊 got everything ready. Mixture of 3 to 1 and G10 on the way.
Awesome! Best of luck with your project!
Finished! Etching everything! Scissors ✂️ came out two tone. Both half Different Chromium content I'm guessing. Still looking amazing.
@@travisyork3915 Sometimes the scissors do that. It exactly sure why. The older one (with the flat head bolt) tends to do that more often than the newer scissors (the one with brass peening).
Just found your channel and I'm impressed! Well done! This was a wonderful upgrade. Question: is the price for an "upgraded" knife similar to what you have listed on your site for a Dragonox? I have a Victorinox Camper and definitely am interested in upgrading it with a Spyderco blade. Thanks!
Que hermosa pieza lo felicito solo x curioso que precio saldria una pieza asi
nice website. banging customs.
Thank you! I appreciate it.
I was just thinking about when the next post was going to be and here it is, not 15 mins later.
Yeah, I am running a bit late on posting it. Glad that you were thinking about it!!!!
The SAK clicking was ASMR to my ears.
😅👍🏻 You're actually not the first to say something like that. Glad you enjoyed.
Hello! I never tire in saying that your technical acumen and your artistic bent contribute to such beautiful builds...I would not fret about the gray pen, it matches the glass and the screwdriver...you turned an "ugly duckling" into a "swan" and into a different model to boot! Did you have to mask up for the acid wash? I noticed fumes as you worked the parts...really like the black and the brass...Good job!
Hey! I really do appreciate the kind words!!
I usually do the acid etching under a vent, but for the video I brought the acid to my work bench. Otherwise, I really would have needed to wear the mask.
Very cool
Thanks!
Do you make these for resale? Watched to the end, I guess you do! What would a yeoman like this sell for???😮
It's a Crossbow!!! Greets from Suisse!!!
🤣 LOL 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Amazing video (as always). I've got a little question about the replacement of the blade... I understand that with the older one you can use the "flat" G10 liner but how did you compensate for the combo tool side? Did you use another key ring attachement? Thanks !
Glad to hear that you enjoyed the video!
The combination tool side does not need to be modified. It fits the same with original liners or with G10 liners
Nice, very inspiring and relaxing video! Any tip where to get spare parts like pins, spacers, springs and even tools for vixtorinox like seen in your vid @5:39 for example?
Thank you! Glad that you enjoyed the video.
The spare parts usually have to be harvested from disassembled Victorinox knives. Every once in a while you can find somebody selling parts on Ebay.
Fascinating to watch.
#craftsman
Awesome! Glad to hear that! I tried not to edit out too much, but had about 75 minutes worth of footage that I had to reduce somehow. 🤣
Thanks for the detailed explanation!
I have a question, what kind of oil do you use after acid etching and brass wash?
I use sewing machine oil. But any thin oil will work well.
Hi, excellent job! Where did you buy the brass little parts (rounds and pins)? Thanks
The brass pins can be found on Amazon. 2.5mm and 2.2mm
The brass washers (grommets) have to be sourced from the knife during disassembly.
Very nice Projects/Products!!!
Any recommendation where I could get single tools (especialy the big blade) ?
Thank you!
I get all of my parts from knives that I have disassembled. Some times you can find people on Ebay who are selling parts separately.
Wow! But where do you find all the extra parts? I have to try this! Thanks!
Thanks. I got all the parts from knives that I have disassembled.
Brilliant what your can do with an old knife. I assume you sand down all the liners at one time so they are exactly the same size.
Thanks. Yes, I sand them all together in the end.
Great build, where is a good source for pins/ hardware?
I order the pins from Amazon. amzn.to/3X4OyU8
amzn.to/3Ymb5gn
Would you share some tricks on how to get the pinning down so that tools don’t have play but also are not too tight? You always get that right or did you had to disassembly some time ?
When I was starting out, I had to redo the peening a couple of times.
The main thing I would say is use a small hammer and go slow. No other secrets...
Wonderful job! Do you dilute your FeCL? When I've done it I go 3:1 water to FeCL. However it takes about 2 hours to get the similar finish you have here. I'd love to speed that up. Thanks!
I use a dehydration (dry) FeCL and mix it with water 1:2. So, it is more concentrated.
You are doing God’s work.
😁 Thanks!
I love this setup but is there any other tool you can put opposite to the Philips screw driver ? I have good eyes and don’t see the point of having a magnifying glass. Maybe a reamer ?
Thanks. There are a couple of options for tools opposite the inline philips. You can place an LED light or universal wrench without any modifications. With some modding you can place a carabiner there from a rare Wenger.
Great job, i'm planning to gets my hands on a Modeler the same way .The stamp on the main blade it's a crossbow ( swiiss mythology ), not an umbrella
Thank you. 👍🏻 Yes, you are right about the tang stamp. I just get some good laughs in because it really looks like an umbrella to me. 🤣👍🏻
Excelent
Thanks!
Hey! Amazing video. But why do you do the acid etching? Any good reason? Doesnt it make the blade blunt?
Thanks. The acid etching is just for aeshetic reasons. It does make the blade dull, but I re-sharpen it afterwards.
It looks great, but doesn't the acid etching mess up the usability of the knife? harder to clean? quicker to rust? what are the downsides? plus those scales are gonna corrode. Love the look, not very practical though.
Do you neutralize the acid with baking soda and water before brass wash? I found out that sulfuric eteches stainless very well😂
I rinse and scrub the tools, but only use soda for cleaning the sink where I rinse the tools.
Tes vidéo sont super, quand tu met tes lames dans le récipient avec des morceaux de laiton, tu mais de l'eau?
Your video is great, when you put your blades in the container with pieces of brass, you but water?
Where can I order the magnifying lens? I am looking at modding a SAK Hiker by replacing the bottle opener. I also plan to change the scales.
Here is a link: amzn.to/3J7ZlHQ
Sounds like it'll be an exciting project.
Do the scissors need sharpening and would the brass wash roughen and dull the scissors?
Acid and brass will make the scissors dull, but the Victorinox scissors are self sharpening. So, simply by opening and closing the scissors a couple of times it will sharpen again. 👍🏻
Hi.
Really nice work and beautiful result.
Appreciate your time to share your experience.
One question please: the temperature of the acid?
Many thanks.
Regards.
Hello.
Thank you!
There is not a particular temperature for the acid. I keep it in a "hot bath" and try to keep the water close to boiling.
You are very welcome.
@@FittoSurvive many thanks. 👍👍

¿podrías añadirle a la waiter el punzón?
i actually would have been cool if you could paint a black victorinox logo on it
Yeah! That would have been cool.
Hello, I am amazed at your work. it's something really fine. detailed .. what is the price of making a knife like this? Greetings from Nicaragua 🇳🇮
Hello! Thank you!
A knife like this would cost around $300.
❤
👍👍👍
las partes sobrantes las botas o las guardas para otros proyectos?
Las piezas sobrantes las guardo para futuros proyectos.
Does the combo tool fit on a 91mm in place of the small blade?
Yes, it does.
Do the g10 liners decrease durability or sturdiness at all?
Not at all. The G10 is a composite material that is significantly stronger than the original aluminum liners.
If I send you my Victorinox Rangergrip 57, can you replace the can opener with a set of scissors?
I don't think so. The can opener is a shorter secondary tool. The scissors could only be added by adding another layer.
Did you use pure ferric Chloride? Or did you mix it with water? And what do you do after the etching? Leave the parts in oil? Anyway great looking knife! Your video's are awesome
Thanks. I used a 1:3 ratio. I rinse and scrub in water after the acid bath, then I soak in oil.
Have u made one with nail clippers?
I made one with nail clippers. I added a scalpel to it. I am planning to make a bigger one soon. f2scustoms.com/builds-83-123/build-110
У вас золотые руки.
Спасибо огромное!
Cool build. How well does the acid etch hold up over time?
Thank you! The acid etched finish can be scuffed off. So it will depend on much abuse the tools go through.
Thanks I’ve yet to try it. How about
cerakote have you used this in your builds?
Hola!
Soy Andrés, me gustaría que me dijeras dónde se puede conseguir( vivi en España )el material de las victorinox como los clavos y arandelas para hacer reparaciones
Hello Andrés, I do not know where you could find them in Spain. Try Aliexpress.
a.aliexpress.com/_mKJ1SZC
This would be the perfect case for RIT dying the magnifying glass, micro screwdriver, and pen black
Interesting idea. I need to try that.
wich acid you use?
Ferric chloride
In more detail can you explain the brass wash part? Is it just scrap brass in a container with water and then the tool in the mixture?
Sure thing. It is brass scrap in a container with water, I toss the tool in one at a time, and shake it semi aggressively for about 30 seconds.
If that doesn't make sense, Google "how to stone wash at home".
@@FittoSurvive thank you so much for your help
