Thanks for the screen protector ! It boggles my mind why they didn't release the Rog Ally together with a case. Can you find or recommend a case for the Ally also in a video?
bro why does every channel promote joystick covers now. Like just get a case, its a dumb idea to throw a half a thousand dollar system loose in a bag anyways.
It can last longer, it all depends on graphics settings and what game you are playing. Either way, this is a literal pc packaged into a tiny form factor. So the battery life is not good at all.
@@riboiman4005should I get a steam deck? Seems like it’s pretty good but I already have a gaming pc with a 1660 super, switch and a ps5. Do you think I really would get anything out of it?
@@IronIsKing Yes I think you would enjoy the Deck! I myself also have a more powerful PC than the Steam Deck, yet I always use the Deck, too. You can make the Deck fit with your PC setup or fit it into a home console setup similar to a Switch, which I have done.
The vid was great and im gonna add a like after i post this, but maybe wait for these companies to fix it themselves if you are on the fence. But if you absolutely need a gaming rig right now these come with some amazing options.
Even though I don't have an ROG Ally for this video to be of much use to me, I'd personally approve it for the sole purpose of seeing a PAW Patrol backpack here
Battery bank just adds a bit too much weight. Also stick drift happens from wear and tear. It may reduce the wear and tear while in the bag but not while playing games.
Stick drift isn't caused by wear and tear It's caused by idiots abusing the controllers and or acting like kids and raging out on their devices and controllers I've been using the same PS2 controller for over 20 years. Still no stick drift PDP Xbox 360 controller since 2009, no stick drift either Launch model Wii-U gamepad, No drift 4 y/o Switch Lite I've used extensively for FPS, still no drift. If you take care of your controllers and devices they won't drift Hal effect or not Hal effects also don't last forever the magnets eventually degrade leading to input delay and dead zones. As proven by the Sega Dreamcast Hal effect stick and Xbox Hal effect triggers
@P_D-px6iv that couldn't be further from the truth. You get lucky with 1 controller not having drift. I had one ps2 that didnt develop any stick drift while my other one did. You probz got lucky. These are mechanical parts will fail eventually. Anything mechnaical is subject to failure eventually. The potentiometer has a limited life span. They have this resistant pad which wears down over time from moving the controller. This has nothing to do with user error and has everything to do with lifespan. These joysticks are rated for 400 hours which is not long when you think about it for the average gamer. Ps2 games didn't require crazy movement life that for alot of their games honestly speaking. You didn't have people playing games like fps where analog movement is essential for example
@lordadz1615 I disagree Also that pad your talking about has nothing to do with drift that's the R3 pad. Wear and tear can cause the stick to get dirty which causes drift but if you regularly clean them it's no problem Also what are you talking about "there weren't any FPS" PS2 and Xbox had an extensive lineup of FPS and TPS some with online servers still being hosted to this day via private severers. Battlefield 1 & 2, COD 2, 3 & WaW, BLACK, Killzone, Time Splitters, XIII, Red Faction, MOH Frontline, Rising Sun and Pacific Assault, Dark Watch, The Suffering, Dues Ex, Brothers in Arms, Red Faction, Halo 1 & 2, Metal Gear Solid, Zone of the Enders, SOCOM, Mercenaries, Red Dead Revolver, GTA 3~San Andreas, Gun Grave, Syphon Filter, Splinter Cell, etc 6th gen also had an abundance of racing games more so than any other generation and those aren't nessisarily very good on sticks either I've been gaming for over 20 years and have had dozens of controllers and have only ever gotten drift on a few and it was easily fixed by cleaning them. I've had more buttons stop working than sticks drift Also like I said before Hal Effects don't last any longer they have practically the same ammount of life if not worse. Once those magnets start degrading you're SOL I mean I've had 4 Xbox One controllers since picking up the Xbox One in 2015 and 2 of them have dead triggers due to the magnets degrading they have to be pushed damn near all the way in to even register. Yet my Xbox 360 controller with potentiometer based triggers still tests like it's brand new
@P_D-px6iv okay why did you get drift on those few controllers. Are you abusing your sticks???. The fps games in ps2 did not require movement on the level of today's games. They were very minimal cus u were just killing bots at the end of day. Its alot more competitive compared to back then and people wanna be the best. The pad I mentioned is not a the r3 button..... i mentioned potentiometer which has a black trace pad on the inside. Look it up bro. Those potentiometer are used to measure horizon and vertical movement of a controller and sends the signal to the controller to register input. If they wear out you get drift. The copper inside of the potentiometer also wear out too.. mine literally rusted and turned dark brown. I had to change it. Cleaning won't fix that.... Don't get me wrong cleaning helps in some situations but not all. The fact users have to open their controllers to fix these issues is a problem... hall effect sensors can wear out like you said but that's after decades. They last ages. The potentiometer do not though... (you get lucky as you mentioned with some of your joysticks).
People talk about the battery life but this thing is huge. Portable gaming devices used to be small enough to fit in a pocket in a jacket or even pants. I see this as something I would play at home so battery life isn’t all that important especially if I could just leave it plugged in.
I understand a lot of gamers are mad about battery life... but its completely dependent on what you play and your settings. I really don't suggest playing heavy games on the go, because that will drain it. I can play most of my games on here fine tbh, skyrim lasts really long too I suggest playing more of the smaller games on the go in places you can't charge for anyone wanting to buy it. theres a bunch of games worth it on steam :)
You know the sticks are the easiest to replace ever without breaking the warranty… I recommend ordering some holo effect joysticks and boom, no stick drift!
@jedvaulten02 Bro, you need to get the dust out of your deck. No way it's running that hot without a problem. Also, where does the deck even come into this? It's far less expensive and outdated by two years, and yet still holds up.
@jedvaulten02 Deck does not always overheat. It runs hot on AAA games, but it does not "sound like a jet engine." During everyday use. You're as uninformed as you are delusional about the capabilities of the ally. It is obviously better than the deck in many ways, but it is far less durable and far more expensive. The steam deck is one of if not the most inexpensive mid range gaming pc, and its portable.
