I got one of these about two years ago after owning a scuf (still works but I don’t want it to break since i got it in 2014 so I stopped using it) and using those cheap wired power A controllers with the two buttons in the back. Feels very high quality but it lasted about 3 months before the bumpers started acting up and the left stick would have the slowest reaction time ever. It’s apparently a common issue according to Reddit and I opened it up to try to fix it and did everything that I saw on CZcams videos or Reddit posts but nothing worked. I’ve never had stick drift on a controller (not even on an Xbox 360 one) and I rarely drop my controllers so I don’t think I messed it up. If only they lasted long, these would’ve probably taken companies like scuf and battle beaver out of the market by now. It’s honestly mind blowing how expensive they are and how easy they break. The regular Xbox controllers last much longer than these pieces of junk. One of my buddies worked at geek squad for about a year and he also went through like 3 or 4 of these in that span. He also said they always had people return them so his store always had a lot of those open box ones as well. Can’t believe they haven’t discontinued them because they don’t even last a year. On another note, I have a buddy with a series one of these controllers and he uses it pretty often and it still works really well. One step forward, two steps back with these goofy controllers. If you’re gonna buy a controller that you don’t expect a long lifetime from, get one of those cheap powered A ones that is like $30 bucks and get the Best Buy warranty so if it breaks, they’ll replace it and buying the warranty for something so cheap is also very cheap. The only issue I had with those was that after a long time, I’d press the right trigger to aim and somehow my character would shoot and aim at the same time 🤣
Bro I got one f the open box ones at my local Best Buy and the sticks are already having issues, and I haven’t found any information on it either. The sensors don’t seem to respond well to input in certain directions and take a weirdly long time to return to center.
My brother in law gives me his broke remotes. I dabble with electronic repair and have gotten pretty good at it but I have 2 brand new controllers at this point for free. Also the controller would be the best on the market if it had Hall effect joysticks
I’d bet that there’s so many because someone bought them for an event, and then returned them after it was done. Happened all the time when I worked at MicroCenter.
I used to destroy the sticks and bumpers on my controllers so I'd buy $20 corded ones. Because a $20 corded controller would last me a month to a month and a half. a $60 one would only last about 2-3 months, so it was cheaper to just buy a super cheap one every couple months. I bought my elite 2 probably over 2 years ago now and it's still going strong. Every issue I've had I've been able to deal with and fix with a little tough love and a few extra hard smacks on the button that's not working, and it started working again perfectly. Thing is bullet proof. Never even have to adjust my dead zones in game or on the controller over that whole period. the sticks just don't drift.
Not to mention I've probably only ever charged the thing 10 times over that 2 years. if that. battery lasts for like 2 weeks of GRINDING. hours every day for 2 weeks straight. if I'm in a period of not gaming much and only use it once or twice a week that thing goes for months at a time.
A friend of mine encountered drift within 2 weeks, that's when I stopped using mine. That being said, if Microsoft were to put hall effect sticks in these things and made the bumpers more robust (surprisingly i don't think I've ever had a bumper issue beyond a dropped xbox 360 controller, but I've read about it enough to know it's a valid problem) I'd probably buy 3 or 4 of them
Ive had two of them, both have bad stick drift but then again I play all the time so it makes sense they wear out. I want something different but no other controllers have lock triggers like the elite 2.
I have an Elite Controller series 1 for about as long as it exists, it learned to fly several times, one of the rumble motors is broken, but it does not have stick drift.
I’m watching this on Xbox controlling my Xbox is that exact controller the exact same colour? It’s so high-quality it’s got so much good battery life and when you touch it so good
wanted one since the first one came out back in 2017/2018 era but as a broke kid i never even had a second thought of buying it, found one a few days ago at my local liquidation store without the paddles for 8$! best 8 ive ever spent and i got 4 other regular controllers all for 8$ apc
My brother in law gives me his broke remotes. I dabble with electronic repair and have gotten pretty good at it but I have 2 brand new controllers at this point for free.
i recommend setting the sticks to axis independent in the settings if one xsx/s. that’s what default xbox controllers have. otherwise the stick movement feels a little laggy
Have had mine for a long time now and my only issue has been the rubber grips. They are really nice but over time they have pealed back and are next to impossible to fix. I have babied this controller and has still been one of my all time favorites.
My problem with every single elite is that R3 won’t work when the stick is moving forward because of how it’s build. Every elite I’ve tried the same issue and for me it’s a big thing because that’s usually my “crouch” and “slide” in fps.
I returned mine after a few days because the face buttons were mushy and didn't register all the time. It was the A button in my case. I noticed this in platforming games where my character wouldn't jump 5% of the time. I don't have this issue on the standard XBOX controllers.
the rubber on my elite series 2 peeled from the left handle like if the adhesive gave out or something. anyway an easy fix would have been to purchase a silicone grip cover which would have held the rubber in place. instead i took some advice from reddit and went the plastics super glue route. the rubber had too much tension and wouldnt stay glued. sure enough i made the situation worse as i glued the left trigger and now it wont pull. oh well looks like im gonna order a new eilte 2 but this time ill get it from xbox design labs
I returned mine the day after i bought it. the Y and A buttons didnt always register. and the LS felt weird to use when sprinting in games. I can recommend solid controllers by PowerA.
I haven't had any issues with mine, purchased around the Holidays last year. Unless the quality issues are still prevalent, only thing I can think to explain the high return rate is maybe the weight? I have to admit, it's a pretty hefty controller, but I happen to like that about it.
I got my elite controller years ago as an open box from best buy. I got home opened it and the right bumper was gone, no pressure and it didn't work at all. Took It back to best buy and they gave me a brand new one for free, I paid like half the price for it
Great controller but i have had to take mine apart 3 times to fix the left bumper which stopped working completely. A little isopropyl alcohol does the trick. Plenty of videos out there to show you how to do it.
My second elite hasn't broken. My first one did but I was able to replace the stick that had drift. You would think for such an expensive controller MS would use Hall effect sensor control sticks.
It’s a really cool idea but my kids kept pulling off the buttons since they come off so fast. If you just happen to drop it the buttons scatter everywhere.
Just ordered a clean series 2 controller on ebay with everything thing included but the right stick has stick drift. Easy soldering job and great savings since it costs 36$ after tax and shippingñ
Mine had stick drift out of the box and the a button sometimes didnt recognize. Its very sad because i would really like to have those pedales in the back but i cant play with stick drift and an a Button which sometimes doesnt recognizw
The elite controller is good only bad thing I've experienced with them is that the bumpers will stop responding after a while and that's common in elite controllers to be honest, but they usually never really get stick drift and the it's easy to take apart and fix the bumpers usually by cleaning them or removing the plastic or both but in some cases just updating the controller itself helps
Just set the stick resistance to the highest and you'll never touch it again. The tightest setting is not very tight at all, it's just right. I don't know why you'd ever adjust it back from there.

If you’re gonna buy a controller that you don’t expect a long lifetime from, get one of those cheap powered A ones that is like $30 bucks and get the Best Buy warranty so if it breaks, they’ll replace it and buying the warranty for something so cheap is also very cheap. The only issue I had with those was that after a long time, I’d press the right trigger to aim and somehow my character would shoot and aim at the same time 🤣
Nice video
Can you show us more of the rog ally
RB and LB always be lagging on mine 😂
Wish more controllers had that rubber grip! I kinda wanna get one of these one day! 😅😁👍🏻
Also the controller would be the best on the market if it had Hall effect joysticks
i just LOVE the metal triggers and the weight of the thing
I've had 3 elite controllers. Absolutely love them. Amazing for FPS and MMOs.
Love your videos man
Thank you so much! Hope you have a great day
I especiallylove your nintendo switch videos
Wtf are you doing to destroy those controllers bro
A friend of mine encountered drift within 2 weeks, that's when I stopped using mine. That being said, if Microsoft were to put hall effect sticks in these things and made the bumpers more robust (surprisingly i don't think I've ever had a bumper issue beyond a dropped xbox 360 controller, but I've read about it enough to know it's a valid problem) I'd probably buy 3 or 4 of them
Ive had two of them, both have bad stick drift but then again I play all the time so it makes sense they wear out. I want something different but no other controllers have lock triggers like the elite 2.
They all had mad stick drift for sure
This is the best controller ever made
I bought these a year ago, 3 months in and the sticks were drifting hard. Returned them and bought a cheap Hall effect controller
Not me thinking the text notification was mine. 💀🥲
I have an Elite Controller series 1 for about as long as it exists, it learned to fly several times, one of the rumble motors is broken, but it does not have stick drift.
I’ve had my elite 2 for a year now and still works perfect
I’m watching this on Xbox controlling my Xbox is that exact controller the exact same colour? It’s so high-quality it’s got so much good battery life and when you touch it so good
wanted one since the first one came out back in 2017/2018 era but as a broke kid i never even had a second thought of buying it, found one a few days ago at my local liquidation store without the paddles for 8$! best 8 ive ever spent and i got 4 other regular controllers all for 8$ apc
Can u add paddles to a normal Xbox controller?
My brother in law gives me his broke remotes. I dabble with electronic repair and have gotten pretty good at it but I have 2 brand new controllers at this point for free.
It's the only rubber grips that don't start to peel off, because they're not just glued on.
I got an elite series 2 a few months ago. This is one of the best bang for your buck pieces of hardware I have ever used
i recommend setting the sticks to axis independent in the settings if one xsx/s. that’s what default xbox controllers have. otherwise the stick movement feels a little laggy
Everything and I mean everything about this controller feels premium and worth the money. Even the damn charging dock is great.
Got a elite series 2 and 2 years later no problems
Got mine used it broke I’m gonna get another one soon really nice it gives. Me a better skill in mortal kombat
Can you link that red keyboard on your desk?
Got an elite 2 controller for $80 used like new from Amazon. Works like a charm.
It is great for pc gaming cause you can custom map the back paddles to keyboard shortcuts
Those back paddles could act like a paddle shifter if your playing a racing/drifting game
If you install it backwards feels more natural, like the paddles in the Logitech wheel
I returned mine the day after i bought it. the Y and A buttons didnt always register. and the LS felt weird to use when sprinting in games. I can recommend solid controllers by PowerA.
Wolverine ultimate controller has done me good for years
I haven't had any issues with mine, purchased around the Holidays last year. Unless the quality issues are still prevalent, only thing I can think to explain the high return rate is maybe the weight? I have to admit, it's a pretty hefty controller, but I happen to like that about it.
Not even a month in and a joystick stopped working properly. Yet my standard 5yr controller still works
My friend has that control but it’s white and black and it heavier than the regular ones
You also forgot the lb and rb sticks always breaking
Input delay is a killer for serious competitive players
The rubber grip came up and off my last controller, I don't think I'll be investing in another.
My second elite hasn't broken. My first one did but I was able to replace the stick that had drift. You would think for such an expensive controller MS would use Hall effect sensor control sticks.
What game were you playing it looks really good
It’s a really cool idea but my kids kept pulling off the buttons since they come off so fast. If you just happen to drop it the buttons scatter everywhere.
Bro! I got an open box deal at best buy as well! for a steal! paid $85 for it basically $100 off 😁
Just ordered a clean series 2 controller on ebay with everything thing included but the right stick has stick drift. Easy soldering job and great savings since it costs 36$ after tax and shippingñ
My Best Buy also has like 13 of these always wondered why
Because every single one of them come out of box with at least .10 minimum stick drift. Y’all are dumb af purchasing this
They break all the time
Mine had stick drift out of the box and the a button sometimes didnt recognize. Its very sad because i would really like to have those pedales in the back but i cant play with stick drift and an a Button which sometimes doesnt recognizw
I bought one, the dpad no longer works after like 2 months, buys normal remote, still going like a trooper 10 months later
You have to check the open box items for Hot plugs
This controller is great. Idk why people have beef with it.
Im coming up on a year of moderate/heavy use, zero issues whatsoever
The elite controller is good only bad thing I've experienced with them is that the bumpers will stop responding after a while and that's common in elite controllers to be honest, but they usually never really get stick drift and the it's easy to take apart and fix the bumpers usually by cleaning them or removing the plastic or both but in some cases just updating the controller itself helps
Just set the stick resistance to the highest and you'll never touch it again.
The tightest setting is not very tight at all, it's just right. I don't know why you'd ever adjust it back from there.
