    The big "Super Group" is great for our sport. The galleries are huge in KC and they love seeing the best Men and Women perform together at the highest level. If you were here, you would have been just as entertained as the 500+ spectators. Splitting them up would have been a gallery killer.

      @aaronmizzou Před 9 lety +1

      I totally agree. Great work with this tourney Parker. :) It makes a ton of sense to play a final 9 together. Fantastic disc golf and the gallery doesn't have to choose which group to follow.

      @jeffthrow6892 Před 9 lety +1

      Sorry Mr. Parker......completely disagree. Splitting them up would have allowed your gallery to enjoy the whole final nine experience much more.....

      jeffthrow6892 I'm sorry that I have no clue how that could happen. You would run them simultaneously, which means someone would miss action from one of the groups. Unless of course you want to keep the players on the course longer in order to showcase both fields. Which I'm sure that's what these guys and gals want to do.

    Mixed card final 9 was awesome. TDs take note that this can work! The crowd sure seemed to like it. This sport has the potential through this kind of different approach to attract more players both men and women. Pros at the top of their game having an amazing time. It doesn't have to happen every time, but I would love to see more of this.

    Great video as always and thanks for taking the time to film it. I really loved how they let the ladies play with the guys. I feel like there isn't enough footage of the ladies playing and really enjoy watching them. Val is a class act and always has a smile on her face. She is def my favorite lady to watch play!!!

    Really cool how they got the guys and girls to play together. I'd like to see more of that. Those girls are all way better than me and it really shows the importance of technique in this sport

  • @netposerx
    @netposerx Před 10 lety +3

    I wish you would film putts more like you did at 27:17 (Nate Doss). From a filming perspective it tells a better "story" about the putt. The over the shoulder (behind) the putter doesn't give enough detail of the putt. Hard to tell if the putter is 10 feet away or 50 ft. away. And long putts when the golfer and the basket are in frame are the best. Thanks for the coverage.

    • @martyhmcgee
      @martyhmcgee  Před 10 lety

      Rob, you'll find a healthy number of putts just like 27:17, when I find myself out of position. But if I can shoot over the shoulder, I always will, because I find it adds depth and visual appeal. Like it or hate it, it's become sort of my "signature" style. (Counting the number of paces a golfer takes to retrieve a made putt will give you a pretty accurate gauge of distances.)

    • @netposerx
      @netposerx Před 10 lety +2

      McFlySoHigh Video Haha, yeah I know it's your signature. I think it removes "depth" though. And yeah, I count the steps too on videos. I like to keep the disc in frame as much as possible (easier said than done). And thanks for the reply. Keep it up.

      @djbme83 Před 10 lety

      McFlySoHigh Video
      Is there any way you could still do over the shoulder but stand maybe a foot or 2 to the left or right? Many times the player steps in front of the shot in flight and you can't see where the disc ends up. Great coverage as always!

    • @daviddemarse4298
      @daviddemarse4298 Před 10 lety +1

      Rob, I just want to say i respectfully disagree with your opinion. I love it when McFly shows the over the shoulder view of the putt. It is much easier to see the line the putter flies on when behind the player, and it is much easier to tell if the putt is just a little too high, or low, or left, or right. From the side view, i cannot tell any of these things.

    • @netposerx
      @netposerx Před 10 lety +1

      David DeMarse You can disagree which is fine. But when the disc is out of frame for most of the putt I don't see how you can tell the discs line. You can't tell if the putt is high or low until it comes back in frame. And you are being completely dishonest when you say you can't see any of "those things" from the side view.

    Thanks again as always, McFlySoHigh!! Well, this is just my opinion, others might disagree. But these gang golf final nines are kind of ridiculous. I know they've done this before in KC, & I understand also wanting to showcase the women, but you've got to separate them. It's got to be damn hard to concentrate in that big a group....Anyway, so, only final nine coverage of the last day, no round 3 footage?? I know, always asking for more, what the hell.....LOL!!

    • @aaronmizzou
      @aaronmizzou Před 9 lety +2

      I disagree. I love the mixed top card. More tournaments should do it, especially with a course as easy and wide open as Swope. I've played gang league before and it was arduous with ams, but the pros shoot so well that it flows and it is very easy to follow.

    • @jeffthrow6892
      @jeffthrow6892 Před 9 lety

      ***** -- Uhh.....it doesn't flow, it isn't easy to follow ( probably especially for the players themselves) & it simply is a bad idea.....Let's certainly hope more tournaments don't opt for doing final nine's this way....

    • @ocdrums24

      pete nixon ---Hey....I said others might disagree. I guess I should have said others might leave " jackass" comments 'cause they don't agree with me....Not a fan of eightsomes.....period. And why should the FPO women be kept to 3 in the final nine? Whoever came in fourth should have got to play in it too, why not make it a ninesome while we're at it......

      I don't understand. The gallery is very much into it. The players are enjoying the great sport together. Why would they need to be separated for the final 9? This is great footage and great golf.

    • @aaronmizzou
      @aaronmizzou Před 9 lety +1

      I love the mixed card! So glad they do it at this tournament. They do it to let the women have the same exposure as the men. It's nice to be able to follow both lead cards at the same time. I dig it.

  • @TheFloridaPappy

    What discs are these folks using that hold the line to the right when throwing right hand, back hand (hole 5)? My throws always come back to the left if I have any kind of elevation to them (say, above eight feet.)

      An Annhyzer Shot

    • @brekkoh
      @brekkoh Před 9 lety

      It takes a disc which is somewhat understable, and then you need to have enough power, in the form of RPMs to get the disc to behave as designed and hold those lines. On 5 most of them are throwing mid ranges or putters.

    • @EugeeFGII
      @EugeeFGII Před 9 lety

      I was there for that. One of the groundsmen was yelling at those folks to get back (they were right on the OB line). Half a dozen of us (including me) were telling them the shot was going to come in right where they were gathered, but they were drunk as hell, and wouldn't move. A-holes. It's a miracle his shot didn't hit any of them--it would made him OB if it had hit one of them, too.

      I was up there where that drive landed (back away from the line though). There were a dozen people in that gap along the OB line there. We were telling them they needed to move--as that was the line they were going to come in with. It's a miracle that guy got out of the way as drunk as he was--and if the disc had hit him it wouldn't have skipped back in bounds.
