A two state solution is not a solution. It perpetuates the divisiveness. The only solution is dialogue among the people on both sides of the fence. Both parties are also divided internally so there is no solution in sight until they clean up their own house.
The mere prospect for this to happen makes everyone uneasy because it will force them to detach from some of their desires

Are you actually braindead? If Palestine settled for a valid peace deal TOMORROW, there would be peace. They are the ones who are CONTINUOUSLY giving Israel a valid reason for counterattacking. How about you stop using your waterpipes to create killer rockets, and then you can actually focus on your own safety as a country, and the palestinians themselves. Ridicolous.

  • @EtanG911

Sorry Bassem.. you’re glazing over a lot by saying the purpose of Oct 7 was hamas’s attempt to “release their hostages”. I’m not saying that Bassem himself is defending hamas and if he was answering based on his personal opinion, he’d probably argue it was Israel’s provocations in occupied regions prior to Oct 7 that fueled their actions (on top of getting billions in aid and covert assistance from Iran). If releasing hostages was really the goal, they could have kidnapped a similar number (compared to Palestinian hostages) of Israeli citizens and bartered for release, and that alone would make Israel’s “disproportionate response” look even more unhinged.
No.. It was the indiscriminate brutal murder of 1200 people, including the hostage taking and rape that was the goal of Hamas on that day. I’ll never accept that Hamas, an organization known for using human shields, was simply caring about the release of their own hostages. It’s a care they do not afford their own people when they declare “from the river to the sea” and “death to all Jews”.

There is a very important lesson here. If you have no power to change your fate - then do not declare war on a state that can squash you like a bug.
It's just plain stupid. Which is exactly the so-called Palestinian position. A ridicolously non-performer/non-important people, that are not even recognised as a nation, have never had a recognised state, have never been able to agree amongst themselves long enough to create a government, have regularly killed their own leaders - have been offered more than once the opportunity to establish a state but walked away from the opportunity. I would say such a group is both extremely stupid and not deserving one moment of sympathy.

This is in order to create disorder and more easily manipulate the Palestinians. Divide and conquer. The Israelis never cared about the monster they created, in fact many now believe Israel knew that 07.10 was coming and invited it. Why was there a festival taking place in occupied land? Why was it moved both in time and place at late notice to coincide with the Hamas attack into the Kibbutz (also on occupied land). Lots of real estate opportunities and a path to the "Greater Israel" is why.
