    Got mine in 2013 and still carry it almost daily. Only reliable true pocket 9mm that I have found.

      I find it really fun to shoot as well even with a small capacity.

    Although a dated design I still like the Khar.

    Just got the Trijicon Tritium front sight off Kahr's page. Kind of glad it's not dovetailed. The screws are much easier to install to me

    I’ve had the pm9 for 9 years now and I’ve carried it every day during that time. I’ve never had a single issue with mine. I only went with the pm9 cause it was on sale and cost the same as the cm9 when I purchased it. I know it’s outdated now but it works so I figured I’ll just keep carrying it

      Mine just works always too. I don't think it's outdated because it's still about the smallest thinnest 9mm with a trigger unlike any other auto pistol. I think regardless of its dated or not if you can use it well then it's the best you can carry.

      @@jrengo87 totally agree I sure don’t feel under gunned with 7 rounds and like you said it carries very well being so small

    I have and carry the kahr cw9. Nothing wrong with kahr and in my books they are better then glock. Glock is overrated. I love my American made firearms. Great review. God Bless from Oklahoma.

    Thnx for the review. Although I have both a P365 and G43, my long time companion CM9 still rides with me most days.

    I have the exact same model CM9 I bought in 2012. I love it. You can get a Crimson Trace laser that molds perfectly with the grip like it came stock. The trigger was state of the art for its type in 2010. It isn’t anymore but like you said still really good. Especially once you acclimate yourself to it. Also, the CM9 suffers compared to modern micro 9MM competitors that can clown car 10 or 11 rounds into their magazines and even have red dots. But it remains highly accurate (Somewhere on CZcams a young woman made a 200 meter shot with it.), reliable and robust.

      I like mine so much Im getting a k9 just for fun. Great guns, I think the mag capacity isn't for everyone but if you go small as possible for a gun you can take anywhere wearing anything, sucks having low round count but at the same time it saves size and weight, more of a back up in that case.

    Good review. I have the big brother, a CW9 that was bought almost 10 years ago, along with a PM9. Bought both used, enjoy them a lot. Have put a bunch of rounds through the CW, a few less through the newer PM. Only problem I ever had was the CW lost the front plastic sight - twice. Solved the problem with Truglow front tritium PRO sight from the Kahr website. Didn't change the original rear sight because I like the dot-the-i setup.

      @jrengo87  Před 2 lety +1

      I went with the same sight setup too. That plastic sight is almost meant to be changed out. Cw9 I assume shoots like a dream too. Im getting the k9 next for fun.

    Nice review. I have had my CM9 for a long time and LUV it! [[Follow this comment for a ~possible~ safety issue]] I got it when Glock came out with the 42 in .380 and we all went disappointingly.... wuuuuut? Not a 9 !? Your kidding right ? I wanted a sub compact 9 for a back-up, to fit in my vest back-up holster. Long story short I researched these small 9's and it fit the bill. When the 43 came out I did jump on that too for other reasons, but still love the CM9, and it's still in my rotation for many situations. Anyway...... I want to alert CM9 and possibly PM9 owners to a ~possible~ issue. It WAS an issue with mine. (Kahr will fix this)
    On a cold winter night [near 0*F.], brining my CM9 in from my glove box, I unloaded it for the safe, cycled it a few times and did a dry fire.....nothing ! I mean no click/release of the striker. The trigger hit end travel with nothing! I went into a dry firing repetition to make sure it wasn't me. Continuous non function. What the heck !? Then as the gun warmed up..... "Click" just fine. Perplexed, I put it in the freezer for 30 minutes to try and duplicated that, and it did. When the CM9 got freezing cold, the trigger would hit end travel never releasing the striker. I did some research and discovered some other owners describing the same thing. They said they sent them back to Kahr and the issue was fixed. I wrote Kahr of my same issue and sent the gun in. It came back issue resolved.
    Personal experience and reviewers videos show that the trigger does almost hit end travel to release the striker. I am guessing tolerances were so close in that end travel, that pistol materials contracting in the freezing temps messed with trigger mechanism travel limits, just short of being able to release the striker. Kahr did not blink an eye on accepting my complaint and having me send it back for correction.
    In warm climates, you may never have an issue. In the cold, holstered near your body, again maybe not happen. Me out running or biking in Colorado freezing temps with the pistol in a small chest rig, it was subject to attaining ambient outside temps, and possibly not functioning if an emergency warranted its use.
    So......you can check yours by putting it in a freezer in safe condition for a while, then take it out and attempt a dry fire. I side by side tested that with my G43 being concerned with that, and it was a non issue for the G43. An interesting issue for sure. Kahr never said exactly what the cause was, just it went to their shop, was corrected, tested, fired and returned. It's been flawless since, including doing my own freezer tests again without issues. Just food for thought. I still love this pistol for it's reduced dimensions to the G43 and benefit/advantages of that when I need it.
    Peace~Out!

      Thanks for the comment. It got -20 here in Nebraska 2 years ago so I'm going to try mine in the freezer rather than wait till winter. I bought mine a few months ago (2022), do you remember the year you got yours? Hopefully they already fixed it on new models.

      @@jrengo87 ....... I want to say 2014. Right after the G42 came out. I thought they were brining a 9 to the table. When It was a .380 (super disappointing) I didn't want to wait anymore and got the Kahr, which was the best micro 9 at the time. Today's offerings weren't a thing yet. When the G43 came out in 2015 I got one in late 15 early 16 to be brand compliant with a place i worked for a back up. But I still love the CM9 and its in the rotation.

    Excellent review. Love my PM9, only wished Kahr would make a double stack out of them… it would be the perfect micro gun.

    • @jrengo87
      @jrengo87  Před rokem +3

      Kahr is supposed to be releasing a double stack sometime this year. One thing I like about the cm9 which may seem odd today is that it has a lower capacity which makes it weigh less, which is great in the summer when you are wearing shorts that don't have belt loops.

    Have no issues with my MK40 and what Kahr charges for some of there firearms there should be no issues! Seen a lot issues with the polymer ones than the all metal Kahr pistols, Kahr does state that there's a break in period. That being said seen some that didn't and the owner needed to send the lemons back for service.

    • @jrengo87
      @jrengo87  Před rokem

      I'm no stranger to lemons from established companies. Thankfully I never had a problem with this one. I did notice the first time I took it to the range it got gritty, but cleaned it and have shot it a ton since and it's smooth. Must have been part of the break in.
