The AAPRCO Pine Tree Limited departs Chicago on 9/18/14!

The American Association of Private Railroad Car Owners (AAPRCO) had a convention in Portland, Maine and the train to get there with 26 private cars was called the Pine Tree Limited. After all of the private cars came to Chicago behind various Amtrak trains, on the morning of 9/18/14 it set out to Portland and I caught it leaving Union Station off 18th Street bridge and Lumber St.
I have to admit, this was one impressive train to see, the only other thing I can compare it too was Amtrak's rainbow era back when Amtrak was formed and all the trains had colors from the other railroad's passenger trains mixed up. It was amazing to see so many old passenger cars all in one consist, some friends of mine didn't believe at first it was really going to happen. Thanks to fellow CZcamsr metraf40ph175 for meeting up with me that morning and catching the train.
