Anna, I'm angry, upset, frustrated and bewildered that Europe regards Ukraine as the bastion of hope for democracy, the front line of defence against tyranny, holding back a potential tide of evil that threatens to engulf Europe and wants to destabilise the free world, and yet Ukraine is expected to fight with the bare minimum of equipment, always delivered too late.

We told democracies not to build up their militaries because we (US) would be the arsenal of democracy. Arsenal as in we are the guys with enormous storehouses of weapons that we provide to Ukraine in dribs and draws or not at all.

Before Article 5 can be imposed all member countries have to agree meaning it takes time and cannot be activated by just one country because a missile has crossed its border for 39 seconds. I am in full support of Ukraine and also query why it does not receive the same support as Israel.

Helping out Ukraine is essential for Western Security. Russia doesn't stop at Ukraine unless they are stopped. Unless they lose. By their own words they plan to attack further to regain countries lost to their control with the fall of the Iron Curtain. Besides our own (US) self interests, there is also the humanitarian perspective in helping Ukraine....

The problem is that Ukraine can’t stop Russia on its own. It isn’t their determination, but rather numbers. Putin can draft half a million and not care what anyone thinks in his country. Ukraine can’t do that. Putin can draft three, four or five million, as long as he has a police force to coerce it.
Russia has the advantage the US had against Germany in World War II. We could field tanks at 5:1 and soldiers at around 8:1. The US didn’t win that conflict through superior technology, but rather sheer numbers. Ukraine can’t match that.
Watch for how Russia reacts to France making itself a party to the conflict. Macron is a wily bastard. He knows Putin can’t attack France directly without violating the airspace or territorial waters of other NATO allies. If he deploys the Foreign Legion to the front lines, it will be a move to draw all of NATO into the conflict, because Putin can’t attack France directly. Macron is the only NATO ally that could do it.
The lack of significant gains in the summer last year painted a rather bleak picture for Ukraine’s success at driving out the Russians. All of the advanced technology in the world won’t turn the tide as quickly as a couple of divisions of well-trained fresh troops. Ukraine can’t muster that a company at a time, taking six to eight weeks training them. The French Foreign Legion is at least three divisions of mechanized infantry, light armor and artillery that France can deploy right now.
Macron’s gamble is a big one. How Putin reacts to it will decide whether or not all of NATO comes across the frontier into Ukraine or just the French. It may cost him dearly or it may escalate this into a much wider conflict with the combined militaries of all of NATO.
I was a combat medic thirty years ago. I haven’t gone to Ukraine as a volunteer because I don’t speak Ukrainian. I do, however, speak French and I am not so fat and old that I can’t still fit in a uniform. The next few weeks may be interesting.

The danish government has just been out today saying, that it is quite fair that Ukraine hit the same things in ruzzia, that ruzzia hits in Ukraine, but we are only a small country so it doesn’t matter that much.
You are wrong to say it does not matter. It does! Every voice matters and every democratic government, especially a European one matters a lot! The UK does not make enough noise or offer enough help. Democracies must stand together and pull out all the stops. Denmark has been a fantastic ally. Ukraine needs more.

Ukraine should be provided with an enough fighter aircraft to form airforce, such as F-16s and longer-range precision munitions, including ATACMS (more of them, and the longest-range versions should be sent to them), and the russian military facilities inside of russian territory should be considered legitimate targets. It is worth noting that support for military aid to Ukraine in America is over 80% and increasing. This is because Americans understand that not only is aiding Ukraine the morally right thing to do, it is the practical thing to do also. America has spent something like approximately 6% of our military budget so far to aid Ukraine. However, more than half of the russian army has been destroyed. This is a tremendous bargain by any measure! In addition, when russia is defeated in this war, their barbaric ideology of imperialism will also be defeated, making Europe a much more peaceful and stable place for decades -- as well as preventing a new arms race in the region. That is why billions of dollars spent today to aid Ukraine saves trillions of dollars tomorrow. The vast majority of Americans understand this fact. Americans also want Ukrainian military and civilian casualties minimized. This is why Americans are correct to support providing military aid to Ukraine.
Please write to your elected representatives to request this military aid. If you are an American citizen, please consider writing to President Biden and your other elected representatives, and demand Ukraine be given the above weapons - in war-winning quantities, and promptly. The sooner America provides Ukraine the weapons it requires to liberate all of its territory, the sooner this war will be done, and with fewer Ukrainian casualties. Letters can be submitted electronically via the Whitehouse website. One can also conduct a google search for ones' elected representatives - many of which have similar websites. One may simply write and submit a letter electronically to make one's desire known.
I agree with everything you have said, but the main reason money and weapons are being held up is because of Speaker Johnson and the strangle hold Trump has on the Republican Representatives in Congress. So please flood the Speaker's office with letters in support of Ukraine. Trump stated Friday he would be willing to supply Ukraine if it is only with loans that would have to be payed back after the war. Shockingly even Trump has moved one step in the right direction!

I can walk forty kilometers to and from work if the diesel becomes too expensive. It's a small price compared to what you have to pay. Keep fighting deep.
You can get them with interchangeable batteries. And have a spare at work. Just be prepared for a puncture later. It has to fit in a taxi. I have electric scooter . But only use it for quick trips. Solid tyres. Saves a huge amount on fuel and parking fees. You realy need to work out security. Can't leave them chained for long periods of time. Petrol is rising any way. Check out the cost of food in the last 3 months.
@@TheFrewah that is correct. $ 12,000 dollars for an ebike max . But that's the industry. You really should have a good job where your company allow you to bring a bike in from the elements. You are looking at a intense job to fix a flat tyre. And they are heavy. And 40 kms max distance deteriating over last 5 kilometers.
Scooter $ 1000 for mine. You can't leave them long in remote locations . I go twice a week to town. Same max distance as a e bike. Because I weigh 83 kilos and a couple of hills. I get 5 trips a total of 25 kilometers before charge . And you can't charge immediately because battery is hot.

Anna I totally agree! I made the same question asking some friends why for Israel 3 countries intervened to stop the drones and Ucraine is left alone in defending the country from missile attacks that target civilians. Big hug.
