I think it’s cathartic that Donald and Della’s first adventure made Scrooge more open to adventuring and the world, while their “last”(Spear of Selene) made Scrooge give up on adventuring and return back to his business ways. And what did it take to pull him back into adventuring? The triplets and Webby. It shows how much family truly means to Scrooge.

One thing I'd say that holds it back from being a pilot is the reveal that Bradford is evil, or at least the founder of FOWL. It's a complicated balance, one that many writers would have trouble with.

I always point out how Lunaris was similar to Louie and now Bradford has similarities to Huey. Dewey has some similarities to Magica, but they were more general than identifying, unlike these two. Anyway, more importantly, Bradford has been hinted at to be exceedingly intelligent, like when he solved the rubik's cube in a few seconds without looking directly at it. Then, Huey was shown to dislike the other half of his personality (his anger) because it was fully chaotic, and he'd rather be in full control and think his problems out. And it's always been shown that Bradford wants to reign in chaos, keeping everything around him in check.

Bradford is the main reason why I'm looking forward to the finale. He's the most interesting villain that the show has ever had because he has a point. However, I wouldn't place all of the blame on Scrooge's adventuring. All of the bad stuff that happened to the Duck family all goes back to the Spear of Selene Incident. The Duck family splitting up twice leading to Magica DeSpell easily taking down Scrooge; Della giving the plans for the Spear of Selene to Lunaris leading to the Moonvasion which is whole motivation behind F.O.W.L.

It sounds like Bradford means to do good by reigning in chaos, but we can't forget that he only wants to do that for austerity. It's all about the money, so I really wouldn't classify him as good in any sense. Remember, he forced Scrooge to stop searching for Della for the sake of money (and possibly to break Scrooge.) If he's to be redeemed at the end, it may need to be through a HUGE sacrifice on his part. I'm talking the kind of dark territory that Ducktales tends to avoid: Bradford may need to die.

If he, as an accountant, realized, that SHUSH spends more than they can afford, it may have been to ensure that they don't end up having to end SHUSH, thereby letting chaos reign. After all the buildup this season had for Bradford Buzzard, this episode really pays off. Seeing him interact with Black Heron made this episode delightful, from their distinct personalities to contrasting perspectives on villainy. Not to mention his backstory and motivations to keep everything safe were interesting to learn about.
Now on the heroes' side, it was great seeing more of Della and Donald's relationship as kids and how they bonded with Scrooge. Cristina Vee, who I mostly know for playing Homura on "Puella Magi Madoka Magica," did a great job substituting the late, great Russi Taylor as young Donald. It was also nice seeing more of Duckworth back when he was alive, which really added that nostalgic feeling of the original series where he was Scrooge's main assistant.

Maybe if every season got us a vision into different stages of their life: first at the beginning right after this episode. Then in Donalds and Dellas later Teen Years. Then the last adventures before the Spear of Selene incident.

Bradford Buzzard maybe a perfect villain if he can figure out how to combine villainy and order. He would also try to convince others that the McDucks and all those close to them good/bad are the true enemies of the world because of their chaotic nature that nearly led to the world to its destruction on different occasions like being magnets to Magica DeSpell’s Shadow War and General Lunaris’ invasion on Earth. That way will have many followers who may agree to him and FOWL’s ideals involving world domination.

The duck family is his family, so it normally wouldn't be a big deal, but they really hammer in how you need to be super specific with the wishes. So shouldn't scrooge Mcduck, who technically isn't a "Duck" have been immune to the memory erasure?

Given how Bradford specifically mentions Magica and the Moonvasion as chaos he has to reign in, I think it would be fun if he actually ends up causing an attack by a powerful magic user and an alien invasion at the same time (like, he opens some sort of portal and causes Solego to invade with an army from the Negaverse or something). At that point, he would either break down completely or side with the Ducks.

So... one thing I'm thinking about with the Missing Mystery's under FOWL's control now is that they're trying to make a clone of Scrooge.
Right now we have Gene the Genie, the Third Eye Diamond, Lost Harp of Mervana, Fountain of Youth, Solego's Circuit, and Scrooge's feather.
The feather is for Scrooge's DNA, perhaps as a basis to locate an alternate/evil/ruthless version of Scrooge with the Solego Circuit.
Failing that perhaps it's to make a clone of him and then artificially age them by bathing them in the Fountain of Youth. Following that, using the Third Eye Diamond/Gene to either give them all of the real Scrooge's knowledge and finally the Harp of Mervana to tell when the clone is lying.
