Gotta love the reliability
Absolutely 😉
Looks great
Honda needs a full crew like the ranger and defender! 🤞🏻It comes out one day.
You’re not the only one who would like to see that. I know a few people who would buy it for sure.
My thoughts exactly i just got a 2020 pioneer 1000 5. The doors do suck very cheaply made hinges.... help us out honda don't let this bring your product down.
Great video. I’m looking at either the deluxe or the LE for our newly purchased lake house in Michigan. On the deluxe, I know there are 4 different axle modes. Turf is 2wd with an open rear axle. Then there is 2wd with the locked rear axle. In 4wd locked mode, I assume both the front and rear axles are locked for maximum traction. My question is the 4wd unlocked mode. I’ve read that in this mode, the front axle is unlocked, making steering easier, etc but what mode is the rear axle in? Is it locked or unlocked? Thanks and I am now subscribed.
Steve Horvat, when the selector lever is in 4wd you are getting three wheel drive and when it’s in diff lock you get true 4wd. Once you select any of the 4wd modes the rear axle locks.
I would call that 9 out 10 for fit and finish
Does having a 1 1/2 spacer in the rear and a 1 in the front with a 5 2 offset make the tires even?
It gets it pretty close, that’s what most guys are running.
Your thoughts on engine heat? Also on trails do you run in high or low?
Engine heat is a necessary evil unfortunately, you could get some foil back insulation and it will help a little. Most guys put a bilge fan under the seat to move the hot air out. I run high quite a bit in sport mode but if I’m on steep or long hills and terrain I go to low.
How do you like the super atv winshield?
Would you rather have glass?
Scott Mertlich, This is my third pioneer and this is the best windshield I’ve ever had. I personally would have anything else.
Have you had any transmission problems?
Zero issues, it’s been great so far.
Do u get any rubbing on front wheel wells at full lock and compression
Yes, but I didn’t install the steering stops that came with my superatv a-arms.
Nice
How do you like that windshield?
Luke Thomsen, I wouldn’t have anything else. This is my third pioneer and I wish I would have had the SATV on the other two over the Honda oem.
Russ where did you buy your Honda, I am purchasing one soon.
Michael Hammett, I bought mine from Honda of the Ozarks in Springfield Missouri. I think my salesman told me they are the number 2 or 3 dealer in the country. Having said that, I think it’s hard to lock one down right now. My buddy just spent a week and a half tracking one down and buying it. Good luck.
I will do exactly what you've done... Did you install a 4"inch Portal from super ATV ?
No portals, just a spacer lift and wheel spacers.
Could you post a video of high speed trail riding
Ranson Poore, I’d love nothing more but this isn’t really a high speed trail machine and the trails aren’t open just yet. I do hope to get some trail footage as soon as I can though.
sounds like honda pioneer 1000 is right beside the cfmoto 1000uforce side by side as far as horsepower
just curious if you paid less than. 16k for it? I'm in market and wanting to know about how much dealers can negotiate
Adam Austin, yes I was able to get mine for under 16k.
@@russ9897 thanks for reply...im hoping to pay around 15k
Adam Austin, mine was 15,300 out the door FYI.
@@russ9897 I would definitely pay that..thanks for all the help and info. Hope I can get just as good of deal
What?! I found a pioneer 1000-3 for 18,800??
How did you find such a good deal on your SXS?
Scott, I called all over and was willing to drive.
@@russ9897 late December 2019 bought a brand new still in the crate 2018 Pioneer 1000 LE for $15,500 in Rockingham NC.. not including state sales tax.. saw the deal online and called them and bought it.. it took them a week to have it shipped to their dealership and to put it together.. picked it up in early January 2020... I live in SC.. they had a warehouse in Norfolk that they kept brand new machines from the year before available for their customers at slashed prices.. (I think he said he had 5 of them up there).. they said most dealers won't bother because there isn't a whole lot of profit in it for them but they do it because it builds a nice customer base and they don't have to keep them at their dealership.. I only saw 3 dealers in the southeast and one in Texas that had them at that price.. all 2018s.. virtually no difference than a 2020 model.. all brand new
Any lift at all or is just the arched A arms
Shawn Giauque, I don’t have a lift at this point but I did purchase a 2.5” highlifter kit to install at some point.
Ok thanks. I'm wanting to run 29s or 30s but would prefer to keep it low
Shawn Giauque, the main thing is to research the tires, not all 30s run true to size. Getting a 29” tire isn’t a bad idea either.
Yea very true. Do them k-9 measure true
Shawn Giauque, I’m not 100% sure. They measure 29” at 11psi but you can air them up to 18. I’d say they are on the larger side. They weigh 38lbs each.
What is maximum speed ?
64 mph
Am I wrong if I assumed this is your custom ride, not a review of a Honda pioneer 1000-5?
618sam, this is my Honda Pioneer 1000-5 and the video is meant to be a review but I felt like since it’s far from being a stock Pioneer after all of the modifications I’ve done that I should disclose that. I didn’t want to mislead anyone that was looking at buying one that it comes set up this way.
Nice ride. I’m in the market to get one but mine will probably just be family fun, without a lot of mods. I’m wanting to see a stock review I guess, to see what I’m getting. Hard to go look right now due to “social distancing”.
618sam, they are great machines. I’m a huge Honda fan but I like to consider myself fair so I wouldn’t tell you they are perfect. They are well built and if you buy one the only thing I would suggest changing would be the tires. They come with a 4 ply that Maxxis makes for them. They are good tires if you’re not riding in extreme conditions. Mine was stock and I’ve pretty well videoed the whole build minus my whip lights and dual battery.
I was looking into the 1000-5 Deluxe. It comes with upgraded rims/tires. Is that what you have?
618sam, mine is a 2019 deluxe but I have changed the wheels and tires. The stock wheels were Honda aluminum and the stock tires were 27x11x14 in the rear and 27x9.5x14 in front. I’m now running 30x10x14 Super Grip K9s on all four wheels which are System3 SB4 beadlocks. Here’s a link to my build thread on Hondasxs.com.
