Its a very good thing those guys were recording, might've just saved that employee his job if it came down to it. Customer was literally assuring him that it was fine, only to turn around and blame him. I am guessing insurance scam.
In germany the operator would be f**ked, even when the customer told him what to do. When you make your certification you learn that you as the operator call the shot. It´s like when your boss comes to you as a driver and tells you "lift me up with your forks, i have to check something on the ceeling." You cannot do that without the propper equipment. If you follow the order, and something happens to your boss, you get the full blame for it, even when you got the order from your boss.
The Forklift driver in this clip did something stupid and he had to know that the whole thing is wrong. Full stop. Lower the Load to the ground, get a supervisor and step back.
@@Ordog213 as someone with common sense I agree with you
I'd rather have a customer complain to my boss that I *didn't* do something that I thought would be dangerous rather than doing something dangerous because the customer told me to and someone getting hurt or something breaking.
Not a scam, just the UK. We can do stoooopid just as good as anywhere else.

That would be quite the surprise. xD

@9:35: I like how he chases the lift driver like it’s his fault. Ive seen many hard headed (usually men) pull shit like this at home depot.
On bloke decided to ratchet strap a bench to the roof of his corolla (sans roof rack) and refused to rent a van, or call a buddy with a truck against the advice off staff. Well he deformed theroof and was back the next day demanding compensation

The part at 7:15 is a mechanic problem, not a mechanical problem. This is completely normal. Cars don't just shut off if the battery is disconnected (assuming the alternator is supplying energy)
if it is diesel it could run even without alternator.
@@BananPwr Was about to say. If it has a mechanical diesel pump it will run until it's out of fuel basically. Hell, some diesel engines can even run without the pump.
@@Patraquashe Kohler has some carbureted diesels from the 70's or 80's. 17:1 compression. Real PITA to start, only way to kill it is to choke out air or cutoff fuel.

9:35 The roof of a car is supposed to be able to hold the weight of a car and not collapse in case the car rolls over. But that doesn't mean it's not going to change shape under the weight.
Given the "I've done it loads of times mate" line I doubt his thought processes even made it that far. More like: "I need to pick up some stone, so I'll just throw it up on the roof rack" and then he just grabs a wooden pallet out of the parking lot of the store beforehand to make it look legit. In his mind this is no different then that time he had to pick up a large flat-screen TV. It made it home ok on the roof. No reason this wont work as well. His reaction at the end is the icing on the cake. Like it was their fault for not telling you hard enough that it wont work and that you are just making shit up on the spot.
That's an ol focus, who knows what that car has passed through
Entirely staged.
I rolled my Seat Ibiza very softly on its roof and while it keeps the survival cell intact, it is then immediately taken off the road and its VIN number revoked. Its sort of like a crash helmet, if it falls once the foam is compromised and subsequent falls/crashes will not be protected well anymore.

Yea someone said fuck the nut plates its going. You would think speed tape would be applied.
Car running with no battery... OoOoooooo. Who'd have thunk it. The alternator powers the car when running. It's connected to the rest of the circuit without a battery and the ground is also still connected without a battery. Avoid that "mechanic".
My 2stroke doesn't even have a batt in rn lol
It's kickstart anyways, the battery is just for the signal lights
My 04 requires the battery to keep running. Unhook it and it'll immediately die. Alternator not only charges but is brand new, some vehicles require battery connection and won't run just on alternator
"Obviously a faulty alternator...better replace them both...."
Never do this. The alternator needs the battery as a load to stabilize the voltage. Without it voltage spikes well above 20-30V occur and may destroy the computers.
@@Chris-yy7qc yeah most cars have a voltage regulator built into the alternator
3:05 self welding pipe, amazing :0
Yea thats fantastic
1:50 for people wondering, that is the OBD port (On Board Diagnosis) it does Literally nothing for the driver, but its where Mechanics plug in their diagnosis device to do various things like check for errors in the system, look for repair instructions, program new electronic components so that they're recognized by the vehicle. You could just cut it off, but next time your car has a problem, if you want it fixed, you'll need to have a new port installed
It is also where a State Emissions would plug into to in order to give you your next Emissions Pass. So cutting it off would make your life hell later too.
You can cut it , but you have to strip and twist all of the wires together for it to run
@@pvann4890 Sorry,but no you don't.
It's a plug to connect to, it's an open circuit unless theres wires randomly bridged on the plug for some reason?¿
Still it would still run.
@@brunopt2406 sarcasm lmao Really?
Yeah, my company plugged a tracker beacon in mine. Whenever I need to get a quickie error code check, I have to ghost corporate, lol. No nasty grams on that one yet. I HAVE gotten nasty grams for my phone app going wonky and not feeding the real-time data. Didn't know I was I was invisible. Dang.
1:20 Those “pods” are just covers for the flap mechanics. They reduce drag, not the “worst” thing to lose but still no excuse for them to be loose.
correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think they are loose I think they arent meant to be torqued 100% to allow for small movement from wind resistance, its common on smaller aircraft with hanging fuel pods
@@Deenio One bolt is missing and another is wiggling in place so certainly loose, to be clear I meant them being loose not the actual fairing itself, but I understand what you mean.
That's true. The gap is supposed to be there but they are not supposed to be wiggling about like that. It does annoy me sometimes though how passengers will record the _tiniest_ little issues they spot on the planes they are in as if the plane is doomed to crash. It really goes to show how people believe air travel to be such a risky thing, when channels like "Just Rolled In" exist to expose how so many cars on the road are practically falling apart, and the US has like zero requirements to get a license.
@@JohnDoeWasntTaken I suppose it's more to do with people who don't have aviation knowledge in general. They don't know how important something is, in this case the flap track fairing, so the natural response is fear. If you don't know what it does then you don't know how important it is so you'd of course be scared. Same goes with something like (for example) a compressor stall, or losing one engine on a 2 engine plane. If you don't know that a plane can fly and land with one engine and flight routes are designed with such things in mind to be in range of an airport in such an event then you'd naturally be scared. I totally agree with you on the car statement though, planes have to be regularly checked assuming the airline sticks to maintenance requirements, but with cars you just never know. In the UK the requirements to get a license just as bad, but with aviation it costs a lot to get certified and you have to put a lot of time in. Not to mention standard walk arounds before you fly etc to make sure your aircraft is worthy. Whereas in a car people just hop in, if it goes then it goes. They don't think about it.
@@JohnDoeWasntTaken This really is not a "tiny" issue. No plane in the air should have parts in this state. It´s telling about general mainenance because its visible that this has been going on for some time. (the black rattlemarks around the screw holes) It can also be very dangerous for folowing planes, just remember what happened to Air France Flight 4590.
1:51 It's important if you ever want to scan for trouble codes.
That was a 9th gen impala my obd2 port dangles to,
"Im tired of my foot hitting it everyday." Oh what a travesty. Just cut it off so the tech isn't able to properly diagnose an engine code. Because that's way less important than comfort.
Not like she could just tape it up out of the way.
The funny part is all you have to do is stick it back in the bracket it just falls sometimes
I think she should cut it. Would help climate change.
@Toyta Cambery yknow, it's easy to say that in the youtube comments section of a mechanics channel, generally means you have some level of knowledge on the topic. But the average car driver probably has no idea where mechanics hookup to scan for trouble codes. That's why, idk, they made a video ASKING before cutting? Jesus, i swear some communities, especially the online mechanic community is so wild, yall will help and be the most helpful ever if someone posts anonymously on reddit but the moment a woman asks in video form yall feel the need to rip her a new one as "basic"

3:50 IS THAT A AE86!!
@ 7:09 so that's where cheetos come from.. 🤪
7:15 Cars can run without a battery because the alternator is still supplying a little power just to keep the engine running. The alternator charges back the battery when the engine runs to make up the lost power that the starter may have used as well as it supports the power of your headlights, radio, etc, so that the battery does not drain. If you have a dead battery that can be recharged, you can start your car, have someone hold the battery leads while you switch out the battery and connect them back to the dead one and let it charge. Just make sure that the battery get a little charge first and then drive it or rev the engine so that you wont damage anything so that it can be fully charged after a good drive.

8:00 classic case of "nah, I'm gonna fix it later". Likely the gas spring of the glove compartment started to fail and it opened really slowly. So the idiot pushed it down and eventually broke the hinges. Great, now a five minute replacement of a $15 part that requires no tools to install turned into a new glove compartment.
it's a super common issue with the older Audis. have four of them and they're all like that.
2:25 I had one of those cars. They are built like tanks underneath. You can literally jack the entire car up with two floor jacks in the middle the pinch-welds are so thick. Given how worthless they are, I would say that is a perfectly acceptable way to tow one 👍
I’ve never in my life ever heard anyone say that about a Gen 4 Ford Taurus.
@@chrismarek7864 Maybe I was being a bit harsh since the Duratec was actually a decent engine. Still on my gen 3 was a lot easier to change a flat on, and jack stands took less than a minute. Even on my Honda the factory jacking points would just fold right up if you got stuck out on the road with a flat and had to use the factory jack. Don’t know if they cheaped out on the gen 4. Heavy, slow car that pushes like a plow around anything more than the recommended speed limit for said turn when cornering. That and it had lots of nickel and dime type issues its entire life. Unless you live anywhere it actually gets cold lol. Then those things are the same thickness but rust, so it creates a sponge effect.
Left my Taurus on a jack stand for about 30-40 hours to smooth some metal on one of the wheels as it was causing air to leak. The aircraft one was likely a "deferred" problem. Meaning it was ok for a single trip, but must be repaired at next stop.
Deferrals are usually made when there isn't enough time to fix the issue, but is still ok to fly.
It also means that they know, and will fix it after the flight. (Fear not, if it was deferred, it was still safe to fly, but only once)
Yea. MOC must've dragged their feet on that one. Also, what if the one doing the walk-around can't notice it.

So, because he didn't know one piece of information- which you yourself don't have- he clearly has no qaulifications to be a mechanic? Not knowing something doesn't invalidate every other thing you do know, or else we all are losers with no qualifications to do anything, as we all have gaps in our knowledge even in things we know a lot about..
For the info you missed: Gas cars can run without the battery too, as long as the alternator is functioning the spark plugs still have power. No battery and no alternator, and the car will stop running.

Ok smart ass all cars run on alternator, battery is there just to start the engine so everyone should know that. Did you know that some diesels with mechanical fuel pump will run without power what so ewer?

If you actually look at the bag very carefully it actually says 850 lb but I do agree with you if it is gravel or dirt something yeah I would be closer about 2,000 lb it'll be about a ton
My bad I missed that lol
At 2:14 it sounds like a husky

Or 85
The reason these videos are so funny to me is I grew up poor and driving (as Adam Sandler would say) a "piece of sh!t car". My mother always told me it wasn't nice to laugh at other people's misfortunes, but that's what makes it so funny, cuz you've been through it.
7:30 some vehicles can run without a battery, but wouldn't recommend for extended periods
