Can you make a video on planting this strand. Would like to till and broadcast. I’m not set up for frost seeding in the areas I need screening for next year
I have watched you videos and listened to podcast on switchgrass. I prepared 2 different field areas this summer and it is currently bare dirt. I was wanting to frost seed switchgrass this winter. Problem is, both areas are not flat and on side of hill. With all the rain/snow, it has been eroding. My question is how do I frost seed switchgrass on side of a hill and not get it washed away before it gets established? Would waiting til spring to drill it in work better? I don’t have a drill, but can rent one. Thanks for your time.
I have always used Cave in the Rock switchgrass with great success on our farm in SW WI. Some of my switch is so thick the deer go around it rather than try to go through it What is the difference between this and what you are suggesting today? thanks, Bob
What type do you recommend for central Wisconsin zone 4 I believe. It’s currently a picked bean/corn field I want to do 10’ boarder. I would say it’s a sandy soil based on the area but the field doesn’t look to sandy to me
Great job keeping your prices fair. Look forward to planting more Tecumseh SG this year.
Great job on keeping the pricing down.. Big fan.
Glad the wait is over! I've ordered mine. Looking forward to the Roger Samson video.
The best Switchgrass out there plus he always there for Questions 💯

Drilling would be the best

This is an improved version of cave in rock.
You can create pathways for travel or thin areas out as well.

Pulls soil test if you can.
Typically we have been sending Tecumseh to central Wisconsin. But the organic matter is higher , you could use Bigrock
@@northwoodswhitetailsfoodpl2663 should I frost seed now or wait until march? I currently have bare weed free ground.
@@hallj52either time is fine
What type would you recommend for upstate New York
Bigrock if the soil is good.
Cave in Rock would work as well.
What is the shelf life of an unopened 5# bag stored properly?
A few years
@@northwoodswhitetailsfoodpl2663 Good to know. Thanx.
The shipping costs is what is a killer.
Thats a ups deal. we are constantly working on them.
Are either of these varieties suitable for Zone 8?
Where exactly
location would be Southern Mississippi
@@scrappydappy2827 the tech may be, but as long as its not swampy wet ground
What is the difference between the 2
And do you still have them for sale?
Bigrock is suited for most places in the Midwest / north and some of zone 7
The Tecumseh is more suited for sandy soils and dry regions.
