This is one of Adelaide's brilliant examples of when two lanes suddenly merge into one, in classic hick town design. In this case round a slight bend just at the end of Belair Rd past Mitcham Shopping Centre. Cars waiting to turn right get stuck because of a combination of oncoming traffic and the train line gates going down for our antiquated trains. I always make sure I stick to the left lane here, there's always fuckwits causing a mischief in the right, and when they see the cars stopped up in the right line they try to force their way back in to the left lane. This fella had no idea of the road context nor more than 10-20m vision ahead.

I am addicted to these channels, but the Russian and the US car crash compilations are particularly brutal.
The US roads can be described as "people testing the idea of unstoppable force vs immovable object and realizing the results of thinking in such a way".
Russian road accidents can simply be described as "vodka on ice". They don't have the grid problem the US has, but they have poorer quality roads over very long distances and often they are quite dark and icy.

@@neilgerace355 I suppose it's like flying a plane. I am sure it is easy to fly a plane, however I am just as sure that pilots earn their pay on how well they can _land_ the plane.

@@Pine_Gap_Island You're not missing much. I used to be a ford tech and they were miserable to drive lmao (and doubly so to work on, in part thanks to being thrashed 24/7 and never looked after by the owners).
Dunno if this still happens, but 2014-2019 or so ford diesels paired with an auto transmission like to do this thing from a standstill where the ECU sits and thinks for a bit, so you're sitting there with your foot creeping towards the floor for a good 2 seconds waiting to take off before it launches at max throttle. Does it at random too so no way to control it. Really handy if you ever need to move from where you currently are in a hurry.

It's always a head-shaking experience to see some fool trying a maneuver that you need a more capable vehicle for. Usually it's a minivan or ute pretending to be a Corvette, and failing miserably.

He could have been more cautious with passing the truck, but he had a lane to move into safely, so he should've been fine... until the old "I can't see, so I am going to go now" driver appeared on the scene.

3:44 pretty sure you only need an MR licence to drive this combination which is crazy considering the length. I have an MR licence and have driven buses and trucks for years and I wouldn't be confident towing a caravan let alone this combination.

There are truck sat navs that do exactly that.
But this guy took it easy on the first 3/4 of the corner checking clearances then just gunned it at the end.
