In 1967, the country of Sweden converted from driving on the left to driving on the right, with a massive campaign and a carefully scheduled cutover. Australia, it seems, is going by an individual letter drop system letting people change over one at a time. It will be interesting to find out how this approach works.

@@Phil_X Certainly the riders should have been more careful. Were they exceeding 30 km/h? - I'm not sure about that. However, anyone turning right must give way to oncoming traffic - regardless of the speed of that traffic.

From what I've seen in the last few years, people just can't be bothered turning their steering wheel enough. I've observed a slip lane I use often, and sometimes these lazy drivers end up straddling both the left and right lane. Then they waft aimlessly over to the right lane because it involves less correction. Often it is SUV drivers too 🤷

In QLD (where I think this video is) it is illegal to filter where "it's not safe to do so". I would argue that the location those riders chose to filter was not safe to do so because of the turning lane.

It's hard to predict what Police resources are going to get dispatched. Sometimes it takes Police days to respond to a break in or theft, but the time the guy from down the street showed up asleep on my neighbours front lawn, like 20 cop cars showed up in minutes when she reported it.
The vast majority that passed were HWP, so the only thing that got missed out in that time would be a few stationary RBTs and a couple of speeding tickets.

So many drivers need educating on what to do when approached by an emergency vehicle. Just stopping in the middle of the road isn't on.
Gotta agree there, have sometimes tried to move over for one and idiot's wouldn't let me, had to turn off on side road to get out of way.
Just move over when it's safe to do so. I've seen dozens of drivers who do stupid manoeuvres, probably out of sheer panic. A driver of an emergency vehicle will understand that you can't get out of the way yet because there's nowhere to move over to.
