the refs are really annoying, I can't even defend without the ref thinking a perfect tackle is a foul. You can literally tap someone on the shoulder and they'll get a foul

The foul followed by the offside call is absolutely infuriating. Other things that bother me are multiple fouls in the same play only awarding a single card, and when no cards are given after an aggressive foul that the ref let play on before the half time whistle blows, for example. PES calls itself a simulation but can't follow The Laws of the Game it seems...
Refereeing in PES is just so infuriating. I can’t believe the devs did nothing to improve it.

@GameSlack how is it realistic? In no world are you allowed to knock a player to the floor without touching the ball and have it be play on or cut him off the ball after a successful knock on past the defender. While you can get a red card for a perfectly clean slide tackle that gets all of the the ball and none of the player. If that happened in real life refs would get attacked by fans. Also cutting in front of a player when through on goal is one of the best moves you can make irl when through on goal in this game it’s a bad idea because defenders can literally shove you off the ball from behind no problem like it’s rugby

Haha, this is so true. The worst part it happened to the defenders. What i've read it is actually was rigged or scripted. The game will rigged the ai of your player throughout the game.
3 things should change it in PES 2021 immediately: goalkeeper, referee and free angles for different cameras

And the penalty mechanism sucks, also the animation of the goalkeeper on penalty is terrible, and the penalty winning cutscene too, it's weird seing ronaldo taking the winning penalty then celebrated from the middle of the field like he didnt do anything
Nahuel Gorosito I personally thinking finishing needs to be revamped in the game. Shooting feels awkward in the game you don’t have the freedom of choosing your target that FIFA offers. Also the lack of a manual driven shot is disappointing.

Brilliant content, you should also add that when you score a goal the AI automatically makes your players unresponsive and doesn't matter how much you try the opponent scores easily without taking a sweat! Keep doing the good one man 💯

Make one on how the AI score so easily compared to us trying to score they can score 30 yrd screams while we can barely run down the touchline
Or how they can knock any player off the ball meanwhile you can't shove them and when it does it doesn't affect them. Or how they can constantly do 180 degree passes with pinpoint accuracy but you can barely make a 10 yard pass. Or how ai players that are in the upper 70s for acceleration and speed can run faster than your upper 80s players. This game is just a better looking fifa. Nothing more, nothing less
Jaywalker_462 it’s easy for AI to steal the ball and they have a good shield when you’re the one trying to steal it. I just let my AI teammates do the defense, I just guard the passing lane. Works for me.
It's like facing 11 Adama Traore on the pitch, every single AI has 100 body balance and physical contact
@@makrockatansky7585, I can't do that cuz my AI will literally part like Moses parted the red sea and its a quick pass and goal. OR the AI pulls miracle passes that happen in real life, but us players could only dream of doing in the game.
I love PES 2020 (even though I was a FIFA fan for the last 9 years), but two things infuriate me more than the Referee.
I am a Become a Pro player (its this feature that made me swap to PES in the first place), but the AI of your teammates it's just terrible. Passes across the field without your player being free or even calling for a pass, and the worst of it all, defenders running AWAY from the ball, it's so bad that I just decided to no play the game anymore.

Concordo com você, o jogo é divertido em vários momentos mais os defeitos do game são tão frustrantes que dá vontade de desinstalar, tem momentos que o comportamento da IA está tão mal programado que fica ridículo, acontece de quando tem jogos onde o meio fica compacto seus jogadores esbarrarem uns nos outros ou ficaram perdidos com sua própria movimentação e como C a IA não soubesse o que fazer as vezes

Thank you for your kind words! Since PES 2021 will be season update, all the mods and +400 stadiums will work on it. Im glad we don't have to start from scratch with a new engine.

My main issues with PES this year is before data pack 5 shielding the ball was OP for both you and the cpu, then from data pack 5 the they remove it for you but not the cpu.
Cpu player's always holding your player's shirt with no foul called.
Cpu player's always catching your player's even with a sizeable gap between you.
Stat boosting so rubbish team's play out their skin whilst your player's misplace everything and run like they are in cement.
Never getting penalties.
The game is infuriating.
It's so hard to take on players and when you finally get a finesse dribble dummy right, you're blatantly fouled and the referee gives nothing, so it's almost as if you never won the duel, it's a waste of time.
Also, when you hit a ball over the top to any quick player, there is a force field which momentarily pulls your player back, causes your player to pause for a second, or you get a push in the back animation when the defender isn't even near you, which slows you down just enough to have the defender on your heels and stop you from taking off on goal one on one.
Every single team apparently has a superstar free kick taker from 40 yards out in the game, even a bottom feeder pub team side. If your wall doesn't jump at just the right time it's a guaranteed goal every single team.
Shots are completely nerfed as well, Aubameyang apparently can't shoot for shit.
So frustrating.

I always wanted to like PES over Fifa but I couldn’t do it. I finally feel like PES is the superior game now even with this issue
This collision engine is simply too sensitive for such an agressive AI playing style. Sometimes they gangbang you 3 at 1, you are smashed into the ground, ball is taken and what's more, sometimes even there is no foul noticed. However, you may just run up into opponent while you dribble and foul will be given against you. Only way to play is looking for free spaces to dribble and when opposition comes up trying to shield the ball or pass. It's not that bad with some gameplay mods to be honest.
Can't really shield. Shielding is hardly effective for me cuz they push me off no matter what, but or course the ai will actually step away from the ball to push your defender away😒. This game is a joke
Great video once again! Another problem I think you should make a video on is the unrealistic collision system where you get tackled and your player goes into that "tackled" animation where the stumble over. I find it super unrealistic and it happens too often. Some tackles may cause your player to stumble but majority of the time stumbling the way they do in PES is unrealistic because both players kind of stop for a second and then the tackling player gets the ball

I switched to full manual passing in 2014 and never came back. Once you get used to it, it's a different game entirely and you can make almost any play possible .

Lol the players struggle to control the ball, their awareness goes to shit in loose ball situations, interception doesn't work when there will be a goal threat to the CPU( the ball just bounces off your players if you get in the way of even the slowest passes), player switch with analog stick is not accurate.

I agree with you, PES has been good this year, but the current Data pack and the refereeing this year has put it back. Hopefully they fix it with the next Data pack or PES 2021

@knightMD Great vid, but the offside call at 3:11 is absolutely correct. The player is not passive anymore because by his action to run towards and dodge the ball he is influencing the game. This is called active offside, too.
Maybe this one might be called in real life (not always). But the rest of the examples show it's broken.
@@KnightMD that's right. I like the "adavantage" examples. The ref should only give an advantage of the fouled team is in a better position.
And I know 2 other issues which are annoying.
1. When a team proceeds a yellow card foul and the ref gives the advantage, this yellow card will not be given if the next game intermission occurs due to another foul, half time or a goal by one team.
2. If one team does a professional foul which leads to a red card, the game will always wristled down. the new advatage rule where the other team still can score and the delayed red card will change to a yellow one, does not exist in pes.
And another issue which has been made by the advantage rule in this game. A player can only get injured if the game is stopped and the yellow card will be given. If there is an adavantage, the player is always able to stand up.

What I find annoying aswell is, when the AI get's a free kick by a fair tackle, they always frickin' score. I faced San Marino playing as France, and the San Marino player scored like he was Ronaldo. Simply infuriating and silly.
Edit: I usually play on Pro or Legendary, but the fact that teams like San Marino can do a freekick like CR7 is just unrealistic.

Predictive ball is also a problem. When you kick, it already knows it goes outside. The referee blows his whistle before the ball crosses the line

I have tried smashing my game pad several times. Sometimes I just feel like uninstalling the game. The AI is simply stupid and makes the game very frustrating most times. It's not just that, players are simply non responsive.
Offsides are ridiculous, and pretty much every tackle on ai results in a free kick to them. But yet you rarely win a free kick yourself, even though the ai has flattened you sometimes
What gameplay mod are you using what are your settings to make the tempo like that?
No gameplay mods, just default gameplay. Speed is at default 0. The current datapack (8.0) sucks and is very sluggish. Most footage seen here was captured on Datapack 7.

I won 3 penalties in my 1st season save. I was honestly shocked I got them. Shame ended up missing 2.

I've always wondered why there's no handballs on PES. It's incredible how useless referees have become in newer versions of the game.
Even the extra time given. For AI they have all the time in the world 🤣 and as for us, you know the drill.

Referee basically love the CPU opponents more than the players
It's almost same for the mobile version, but the difference is that you get card just for a tap-in to the opponent's possession. It's total insanity

KnightMD I’ve been in lockdown for the past 4 months, so didn’t have my PS4, decided to buy one during DP7 and only managed a few games, but such a huge difference in comparison to 8. Hugely unresponsive.
Do you feel the ball physics have changed as well since 1st release!? I find it’s a lot more “sticky” than what it used it be, originally the ball had a mind of its own and now, not so much.

This is the worst problem in the game. Just infuriating how I dribble on these fools, and they can hack and slash my players with no fouls being called. I always notch the ball up ahead irl and the if someone kicks me its a foul, here in pes if I do that, they get the ball and score on the counter. Amazing how big a problem this is... one of the core things about football

Pes20 is unplayable for me! Most frustating thing is, when you are in the 90' and the opponent scores a freekick goal. That happend so many times in ML it makes me crazy every time
I have found if you take control of your keeper, by pressing down on your right analogue stick and LB and selecting him, if you move the keeper to the opposite side of the goal just as the AI shoots a free kick, they will always save it.

Sad, I play Master league, and in all the derby match, the referee bias for AI so much. 90% of the matches, my striker will get injury with no red card for AI, and worst of all, sometimes the AI dive and got penalty, even Jim Beglin says its a dive. LOL

Sadly we won't see changes until the new engine for PES 2022
They can fix the referee. The next gen engine is mostly related to the graphics. As a PC gamer in happy the engine isn't changing so we don't lose the 400 stadiums and all the improvements made for PC by modders.

In my case the ref is unbalanced. He gives the COM simple fouls and never gives me the obvious ones, especially when it should be penalties. I was actually thinking I’m not going to buy 21 if this is not fixed
it’s such a fun game but it is baffling that they released it with the refs the way they are. the inconsistency is infuriating.
I agree PES is better than FIFA title (having played FIFA title a lot), but it's still only 1 step higher than shit, the scripting, the foul calls against the player/lack of foul calls vs AI is terrible.
Problem is they are developing a new PES for next year and I bet they have the same problems....

I just almost murdered my enemy player with a foul and the enemy player got a yellow card for it. He just fall on my player while his leg was breaking. At least that made me laugh.

KnightMD I knew it was odd. I remember playing my first game with manual passing, and wondering if my somehow a dt18 file from a gameplay patch I downloaded was still being used. Looks like I should wait until DP9 comes out later this month

the problem had been there since the pes 2017 but no fix at all. the overall gameplay of pes is very beautiful, but this referee decisions always has a way to ruined the day.
