So! If the medication lowers the sugar on diabetics. How those it lower down? Does it do it by secreated via urine and think because the sugar is good (with in range) the Pt don't need insuling and for that reason care givers don't administrate insuline, leaving the sugar in the wrong side of the cell (out side) (when it needs to be inside). Pt still need insulin so the sugar get into the cell.

When used properly it's quite effective helping with pain. If not used properly it' can turn into your worst nightmare l
Here in the United States of America we are told that we have an opiate epidemic, I beg to differ
We have an addiction epidemic and the reason for this is because people don't use the medication properly therefore it becomes problematic,
It's not the medication or the Dr to blame, we need to take responsibility.ll if indeed you overdose please go to your doctor and get help by all means keep safe.

Could please comment on the following:
My wife, who is now 66 was diagnosed with severe atypical fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue in 2014.
She has been using approximately 200mg/ since that time ( along with other meds including 750mg Naproxen/day and 40mg Imipramine at night) but more recently reduced to around 50mg SR at night. However over the last three years her short term memory and general cognition has deteriorated significantly. She is also extremely anxious when being driven in the car.
My concerns are that this may be side effects of the long term use of Tramadol or early onset dementia.
She is still in pain most of the time sufficient for her to stay in the house most of the time and often in bed for 1/2 days a week and needs constant care and attention.
    Thanks

I take Tramadol for spinal stenosis (1 tab.twice. Day) and find it helpful. Occasionally I
resort to a steroid injection. (I am considered to old for further surgery on my back!)
I am elderly and find my short term memory is hopeless but put this down as part
of the aging process. When having had a Covid vaccination recently and not sleeping well
I was prescribed Halcion which was disguised under another trade name. (I have had an unfavorable
reaction to this drug many years ago). This time I found mentally I was completely shut off
Was very depressed and had suicidal thoughts.
Not sure whether if what I was experiencing was just due to the Halcion exacerbated by
Tramadol and /or the Covid vaccine. This all happened several weeks ago and mentally I
have not got back to how I was before. Is it possible that the combination of these drugs
plus vaccine can have a permanent effect on ones psychi.? J

    • @jakethesnake4971
      @jakethesnake4971 Před 9 měsíci +1

Halcion is just a fast acting powerful benzo, so it shouldn't be contributing to the depression you're having. I say this because I have been taking tramadol semi regularly and it's been making me feel depressed and tired and sluggish. It started out as an OK pain reliever without those side effects, but I noticed them slowly coming on and getting worse. So I quit taking the tramadol and feel alot better mentally with the depression and sluggishness. How are you doing now?

Thank you for this. I have been taking 6 x 50mg Tramadol for chronic back pain which my GP believes may be weight related (I’m in Ireland), I’m also taking 4 Solpadol (30 mg of Codeine and not sure of paracetamol amount total 120mg Codeine); due to depression and anxiety I’ve been also prescribed with 20mg Halcion sleeping pills and 30 mg of Diazepam. I feel the pills are making me worse as haven’t left my house in a long time and have no motivation and sleep approx 16 hours per day intermittently and cannot work. I asked my GP about coming off everything as I feel like a zombie and have no quality of life at 40; he said he doesn’t deal with that and try just stopping. I did for only 1 day and was violently sick, do you think I should just persevere? Currently I’m feeling very dark thoughts and hopeless. Your advice would be so helpful.

No cold sweats, light fever, nausea, abdominal pain, insomnia. Waking up with a sudden jerk is what everyone experiences. Also, these pharmacist have studied well but let them use it and abuse it for 4 years and explain the withdrawal after going through it and you will see the truth. This withdrawal is torture. (He had been taking huge doses of Tramadol daily, lost his home, family, the lot!!) and, let me say straight off, _Kratom did help him finally, kick the evil drug that is Tramadol!_
After almost a year on Kratom, taking ever increasing amounts, he decided he would wean himself off that too! He really tried, taking precisely measured amounts, and gradually making the daily amounts lower! He failed! He always said, that having spoken to many people, that if he finally kicked Tramadol, then he'd have no problem, eventually kicking Kratom too! _Not for one minute was that true!_
If there is a 'good' side to it, then it's cheaper than Tramadol but, in his opinion, Kratom is equally as hard to kick, as is Tramadol! The sole difference is the cost (Thank the good Lord above!) where his Tramadol addiction was costing him upwards of $1500 - $2500 weekly, he only shells out about $180 - $200 for Kratom!

Unfortunately, I've been on this drug for MANY years for lower back nurve pain . It works well but im a heavy guy ( 200lbs) so i take the max dose of the fifty mg tablets . It IS addictive and the constipation is awful !! If i miss a dosage or theres issues with refills , the withdrawal is AWFUL !!! NO better than a drug addict on the street going through withdrawal !!! It does make me extremly sleepy but not enough to put me to sleep and the sweating is crazy !!! On the coldest days of January or February, if im moving snow or anything like that , including walking any distance , i WILL sweat an ocean !!! It does work well for me with the pain so i put up with the side affects. The pain i have is chronic and just dosent go away . This drug helps but i will say its not for everyone . I wish i didnt have to be so dependent on it but after taking it so long , i dont have much choice . they say its nit addictive but take it from someone thats been on it for years , its very much addictive !!
