I love the way Duncan shouts ‘Sardaukar’. Like a warning to Paul and the others and a challenge to the Sardaukar at the same time.
Two platoons of Sardaukar. They fight a small group of Fremen and are down to half a platoon's worth of strength. Then Idaho by himself kills all but two of them.
Three left
@@QuestionableAdviser_ Yeah, I counted the two that went on to kill Liet. I guess the third one dragged Idaho's body away for the Tleilaxu to clone.
Can't wait for dune Messiah bruh..
IDK about you but that first drop looked like way less than 2 platoons.
Duncan, doomed to be reborn countless times for Leto
the Sardaukar were showing Stormtrooper level effectiveness there.
They're a shadow of their past glories from centuries ago.
The Sardaukar are fighting a complete unknown enemy, and the best Ginaz Swordmaster of his era, and they won
@@xristosrizos8406 37 were sent in and three came out they won but their age of tactics is starting to show.
@@imagonnakikyou6820 Well of course, in their absolutr prime they were equal to 10th level Ginaz. But capturing enemy territory guarded by Fremen and Duncan f*cking Idaho is something that would need 300 Harkonnen
No, it's just that the Fremen and Duncan are in a whole other league.
I like the way the films depict the Sardaukar.
Crushing an overwhelmingly outnumbered enemy in a surprise sneak attack at night....is not the way to hone martial ability to its peak. They were arrogant and overconfident and just like in the books they were humbled.
If you are in a fair fight, you screwed up.
@@Kyle-sr6jmand that's how the Sardaukar found themselves wiped out down to a courtesy escort legion. They assumed they were still the best without ever actually testing their confident theory. Fighting fair has its advantages. The Fremen had a rigid system of honour based combat, with the result being the Sardaukar were nearly wiped out by them but for Paul allowing the previous Emperor to retain some.
@@thesnoopmeistersnoops5167 agreed, they were the best thousands of years ago and all of time at the top softened them. I wonder if they used guerrilla tactics in the Battle of Corrin, etc to establish dominance instead of pure fighting prowess.
The Fremen though, 'beyond cruelty' as Paul said
@@thesnoopmeistersnoops5167nonsense. The Sardaukar hadn't tested their strength for a time because they were left without challengers (that they knew of). First to challenge them was the Atreides elite, and that's why they wiped them out.
When the Fremen appeared, the Sardaukar decided to try and hunt all of them down in order to salvage their reputation. They lost but not before trying during the entirety of the Desert War
There is nothing fair about the freman. Nothing fair sbout dune, its about power@@thesnoopmeistersnoops5167
3:14 omg that choir scream when he gets back up...and the scream from Duncan...CHILLS.
3:11 back right sardaukar with a helmet, 3:17 back right sardaukar with no helmet, 3:19 same dude with helmet back on lol
so if Idaho was present with the group of Fremen during their fight, they might have been efficient enough to completely take out the Sardaukar.
Aquaman got distilled....
So falls the champion of champions.
When I saw those Sardaukar descending like that, I knew it was over. Attacking with such precision and efficiency, no one goes up against the Sardaukar and lives. NO ONE.
Fremen do
Do you think the Sardaukar know who they are about to face? And what hell awaits them?
Of course they did. Duncan was very famous
Cringe comment
Maybe Duncan should have moved closer to the door they were pouring into so he could funnel them
The hot gates would have required him to have a friend or two who was as good as Duncan to make it work.
@@tehjefey hot gates?
I’m just saying they clearly couldn’t fit more than 1 person at a time in that small opening
I guess they could have used that laser to slice him through the door too
Lasers hitting a shield held an erratic but probable chance of causing a nuclear explosion.
They were underwhelming af in pretty much all of the scenes they appeared in
Yeeearggghhhh!
Hate how they botched the fuck out of the sardaukar, made em look from elite to trash as shit
Because that's what happened in the books.....The Fremen were always better in the books and Duncan was so good a Sardukar officer took his body to be cloned. The Sardukar were always going to get smashed.
I do agree that the Fremen being the best fighters and to an extent Duncan Idaho also being one of the greats my only thing would have been if they had shown us more of just how formidable the Sardaukar are themselves. Like more of the night raid attack between armored Atreides (who were also fairly good) going up against the fierce Sardaukar. By adding more of the Sardaukar it would have made the audience have a better understanding of how formidable they are and thereby also showing how great of warriors both the Fremen and Duncan were.
@@TonyTheTostone True
@@TonyTheTostonethey wiped the Atreides out in the movie, in a couple of seconds. That's supposed to show how good they are
@@xristosrizos8406 I would say yes to some extent that’s true. But the circumstance in which the Atreides were in, they were on a remote planet, middle of the night, most if not all defenses were down, completely caught by surprise in their sleep, had to fight on two fronts between the Harkonnens and the Sardaukar. They demolished the Harkonnens but didn’t fair that well against the Sardaukar, if it were an actual war rather than a raid in the night I think the Atreides would have put up and even bigger fight, probably resulting in the loss of some Sardaukar or maybe none at all thereby cementing how crazy efficient the Sardaukar is. But I would go with the first option because one of the reasons the Emperor sent house Atreides to Arakis was because they had grown so influential and also their army was starting to rival that of his own (The Sardaukar) he was threatened. So to assure his victory started to escalate the tension between House Harkonnen and House Atreides and thereby secretly giving support through his own army to house Harkonnen under the guise that the Harkonnens just beat their rival house and completely wiped them out.
서양인들이 동양무술로 싸우는 골떄리는 영화
I'm pretty sure sword fighting is found in many cultures but whatever.
All that screaming “singing” is completely unnecessary. It’s irritating.
I agree. It’s good, but the filmmakers went too far with it
