I used my new Hoover Steam Vac for the first time today. Not only was it not suctioning, it didn't even draw in the cleaning solution from the separate tank. To make matters worse, it didn't heat the carpet to speed up the drying process like it is supposed to. So now all I have is a wet, cold dirty carpet.
A lot of people don’t know this, but that trigger that you were priming doesn’t actually go to a pump, these machines use a gravity fed method for cleaning the carpets, but the upholstery hose uses a pump… I’ve been a vacuum repair tech for a long time and I have torn apart hundreds of these… and if at all, you are confused, let me know, and I will do a little short video showing it

It is plugged in. I primed it in off position and then turned it on.
