    Fantastic for live performance - reckon Roland did some deep thinking about where the market is at for hardware - can't compete with sounds only since a humble iPad can do pro-level single patches. So they threw in everything a performer needs - plenty of control + the ability to add your own & seamless sound transition! brilliant

    I was one of the original Roland fanboys. I kind of jumped ship back around 2000 to Yamaha and KORG for about 15 years, but Roland has been winning me back since the JD-XA. This beast is a serious return to form for my beloved orange logo. I'm so happy it's another Fantom, and has a small synth control panel roughly like I had envisioned for a Roland workstation. Fantastic job, Roland team.

    • @stryker1999
      @stryker1999 Před 4 lety

      @@rickygarcia7400 I have my eye on it big time. There's quite a discussion going on at Gearslutz about the Fantom and Jupiter, and the technical guys are digging a bit into the differences. While having some similarities in the synth engines, a couple of musicians who have both said the Jupiters have a rich lush sound that the Fantom doesn't quite have, along with that JP8-like control panel which is to die for. I don't need to layer four synth parts on the Jupiter, I'm sure it's plenty fat and juicy.
      Buy them both? I want a Fantom 7... that and a Jupiter-X would be way over five grand. But worth it?? Probably!! ;D

    I have to admit, this is the best sounding Roland anything I ever heard. Very Musical, just a large enough color scene without hogging too much space. More of everything. I have one objection, the price. $3999 for an 88 key workstation? I'd like to find out just how many musicians can afford a WS class board for that much money. What happen's if it breaks?

    Hi Daniel! This is probably the best demo of the Fantom that I've heard. Would you please be so kind enough as to consider doing another video with the Fantom? It has since received a plethora of updates including multisampling, model expansions (e.g. Jupiter 8, Juno 106, JX8P, & SH-101). The latest update added an exciting wavetable engine. I definitely think that it's worth checking out. I'd really like to see more people showing off the amazing capabilities of this simple to use, yet complex machine. I mainly use it to play Jean Michel Jarre music xD

    Huge scenes seamlessly morphing into another without a break, considering the processing power for a just one scene that is amazing. Great intro review as always Daniel, been a big month for synths. Will wait for the in depth review to see if we still have a 3 oscillator SuperNatural synth for sound design, or are editing only the four partials now. Really want to know the sound design capabilities of this "synth", hoping it is not just a rompler that can layer 16 sounds and effects.

    Always like your demos Daniel this looks like an interesting development in the Fantom range. I had an FA06 but didn’t like the build quality, this is the answer to that. This obviously comes at a price which seems to high at the moment so let’s see how the market shapes up . But as I have a Kronos / Montage / Nord stage 3 and grew up making music on a MC500 this is a return to form from Roland and a bit different from my other boards! Whatever anyone thinks I love to see companies still sticking with hardware. The integration with computers is great on this thing but will rely on Roland updating this board which in the past they have been really bad at, I had a Fantom G which was very buggy and they never did any updates for that, so I will watch with interest, my Kronos is 2011 model and running the latest OS I very much doubt this board will be supported as well. At this price point Roland really need to step up there product support rather than just launch and move on! Anyway its to early to know but let see how this plays out !

      I have this down pat. I talk about it relentlessly. Then, after a few weeks, I go on CZcams while we lay around and play videos on that specific instrument or other toy. Most recently my new Jeep Wrangler. I do this for several weeks. Then I speak aloud conversations Im having on Forums. After that I spend about a week asking her if there is anything she really really wants that she doesn't have and that we should just go get it for her. She usually doesn't fall for that because she isn't a superficial chic and she is pretty easy to please. Then, I drag her to a music store, IE Guitar Center, and make her listen to me play "said" instrument, or JEEP dealership, and talk to the salesperson about it in front of her for about an hour. Every single sales guy knows what I'm ( the guy customer is doing), so they almost always play right along. Within a few days she (wife), inevitably will say, "OK< if you want it that badly buy it, use the ....... charge card because it has the lowest interest rate right now and we can pay it off more quickly. Or with the Jeep, ( a little more complicated, but usually I end up with some cash and I handle the rest for the loan, IE Chrysler Credit. ) Sorry I'm drifting here, BINGO!!!!!. The Law Of Attraction becomes reality. I have a really good wife.

I was looking at Yamaha montage it but I just love FantomsMade by Roland I had the very first one. Which got stolen out of my house when I still owed like 800 on it. Then I had the Rowan fantom at six and I tried to repair it myself. Period. Big mistake it has set underneath my bed ever since cents and then my cat chewedThrough the cables and I can’t seem to find which ones I need. That looks so amazing though I would never get the Yamaha now after seeing that man I wish I had that LOL. That is where I unlocked all of my music skills for making beats and stuff back in the day. Maybe one day right now everything is no good but I am drooling over it
