    I just got a Fantom 88 key recently. I am a self taught player so my skills are limited. The techno end of it, like what you are doing in this video is where I struggle. I don't comprehend this stuff too well. I hope to start absorbing this stuff as I continue to watch your vids and I also watch Ed Diaz from Roland. Thanks for your tutorial vids. I am sure one day it will start clicking. I love my Fantom by the way. I had the Korg Nautilus but wanted the Fantom. So I gave the Nautilus to my daughter and I now have the Fantom.

    Were da heck did you come from!? No dumb intro video .. no useless babble...just straight to brass tacks! Ive done the cheesy “like and subscribe” and look forward to your other videos on the Fantom. I picked up an F8 the second day it was released after never having used a fantom before. I’m a hardware guy and Roland fanboy and i will admit the learning curve on the F8 is high for me (AKAI MPC is my foundation) just like the Jupiter 80 still is (and I’ve had it since it launch). Anyway thank you sir for this video. Explained in a very laymen kinda way for my simple ass to comprehend. Much appreciated !!!!!!!

      The Fantom is not an "arranger" type of instrument, so it does not do what you are (probably) specifically asking.

    • @ZTAudio
      @ZTAudio  Před 4 lety +1

      Well, I can answer that question by saying that I sold my TR-8s within a couple of weeks of receiving my Fantom-7. The one feature I miss is the ability to import samples and create my own drum kits. You can sort of work around that with the sample pads, but it's a kludge,. If/when Roland updates the Fantom with multi-sampling capability, this won't be an issue.

    Sorry to bother you, what is the easiest way to get the metronome going with a piano tone to practice? Given the nice action, my daughter uses the fantom to practice when she can't be on the grand piano, but we don't know how to get a metronome going with a piano tone so that she can turn on the metronome and change the tempo as she practices her scales, exercises, and songs. Thank you. The easier that she can get to it the better. Sometimes we are in a rush, and it would be nice for her to just turn on the fantom, maybe press something like a scene and start practicing. Is that possible, or does she have to go through elaborate steps every time to get a metronome going. I offered to get her a digital piano bc the metronome buttons are always upfrton and center, but she really likes the fantom sounds lol.

    • @ZTAudio
      @ZTAudio  Před 8 měsíci +1

      The metronome is really only useful while recording.
      A good solution for your purpose is to create a Scene for practice purposes: Setup a Piano on Zone 1, and record a simple one-bar loop on Zone 10, using a closed high hat or woodblock sound, with 1/4 note "hits". You may want to create one in 4/4 time, and another in 3/4, etc.

    • @MarianoPerez
      @MarianoPerez Před 8 měsíci

      @ZTAudio say I setup the high hat on zone 10, is it easy to change the tempo of the hat, say from 80bpm when she's playing her scales to 100bpm right after when she's plays a song. If that's not possible to do on the fly. Would it be easier to insert the output of an external metronome to the fantom inputs and hear the input as she plays a piano tone? Or does that take too many steps? She's 8 so I'm trying to make it as simple as possible.

      The Fantom workflow is definitely different from the Motif/Montage/MODX.
      However, if you're using Logic, it's deeply integrated, and you can operate the DAW pretty seamlessly from the Fantom panel & screen.
      I'm not sure what you mean about "pressing
