  • The FX on the Fantom can be one of the most confusing aspects to understand. In this series, I'll try to demystify it.
    THE RULES:
    1. Discussion is encouraged, but please stay on-topic: If the video is about a particular feature of a device ... discuss that feature, not some other feature you don't like. Off-topic posts may be deleted without notice or recourse, at my sole discretion.
    2. Critical, thoughtful commentary is also encouraged. It doesn't have to be all "happy talk" Bickering and overtly hostile posting will be dealt with quickly ... the delete button and ban-hammer are used when necessary.
    3. This is an amateur effort. Keep that in mind. Comments about how I should have done something differently are not helpful. If you want to show me how to do it better, please link to YOUR videos where you do so.

Awesome info... The effects have always baffled me in these workstations even from years back when I had a korg 01wfd I could never figure it out.... Thanks so much for showing this in a easy step by step informative way. I look forward to your further in depth effects tutorials. Hats off from me in the UK....

Excellent video, sir! Super helpful, the explanations are concise and to the point. Saves a lot of tedious time spent typically on reading the manual. Thank you!

I'am very happy that your come back. You are a best pedagogue.

  • @WildernessMusic_GentleSerene

Wonderful! Always the place to start is 100%% initialized, although effects are also stored with the tones, unfortunately. Still wish Roland would allow us to overwrite presets too!

Well done for resisting correcting Rick's You instead of Your. It's very unlike you; I'm worried that you're mellowing a bit. I'd put money on it that it crossed your mind to do it lol

Excellent and very informative. I’m having a problem getting delay effects to sync with the tempo of my songs. I’ve switched the ‘Sync’ on in various slays but it doesn’t seem to make any difference. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks if you can answer👍

Hey ZT, good to have you back.I know I might be jumping the gun here but was wondering if my Fantom is working properly. If I save a Saturated preset for TFX and tweak it for my scene, it will default to all other scenes that I use I.e. creating a TFX master for one scene will default for all other scenes regardless if I want it or not so there’s no way of having a different master effect set in each scene such as a limiter on one, Lofi on another etc. Pretty bizarre

Using fantom since a year now and i dont understand why roland doesnt give A master FX on scene level?? for instance if i need Limiter on particular scene only, i cant have that, as the limiter will be applied in TFX which is applicable on all the scenes. Any thoughts on that please?
