Good Video. Thanks. Can’t wait to try mine in the winter.
Live in NEPA, bought a set of these to replace the factory GY All Seasons which performed horribly in the snow on my ‘18 Silverado 1500. I don’t run a dedicated snow tire, but haul a 36’ camper in the summer and fall on the weekend. I bought these to serve as a 4-season tire for my truck. The load rating and 3PS seems like it will fit the bill for what I need it for. 50PSI helped with the bounce and tire roll when hauling the camper, running 41PSI on asphalt. Stiff ride but very good dry/wet traction after 1000 mile break in. Winter is right around the corner, we shall see how they perform.
I have a set for my vehicle and they are great. I only use the K02s in the winter to keep them still fresh. I use goodyear highway tires for the spring and summer. I find them similar to your review where they do great in fresh powder but when it's slushy or hard packed not bad.
I find airing them down during snow helps alot 10 psi lower gives better grip. I have a small truck and i just through some sandbags in the bed for weight and traction
Going with K02's. Thanks for review.
Tires you have on are super good , last a long time & good traction’
As someone who lives in MN where you were visiting, I've had my KO2s on my '00 silverado since 2016 - and in the 3rd winter now and they're still holding up quite well. I keep them on all year but don't drive much, have about 15k on them right now but would buy again unless something new comes out that can perform just as well at the price point. With 4WD and only a factory mechanical locker in the rear, I've yet to get stuck in snow upwards of 12". I may have to be more concerned about age and dry rot from parking outside all the time; before they actually wear out from normal use.
HI hightjak
I use Yokohama Geolandar GO15 At M+S it's a great tires in cold weather and in bad asphalt condition, I'm happy to buy these tire
Continue with your beautiful video, see you next👍😉
Great review K02's rock!!
Thanks for the video! snow tires are a great investment. Here in syracuse ny we can typically get 6-12 inches of snow in a night and the next day everyone still has to go to work. i have owned an outback and own a forester. the blizzak snow tires turn my forester into a tank. recently i bought an f150... I would still trust my subaru with blizzaks over the truck!
Great tire choice
Thank you for the KO2 snow review! All these AT tires on the market, but few address the snow element that hits most people who live and drive in the mountains. IMO a three peak snow rating/symbol and reasonable snow capability should be mandatory on a true AT tire. I very much appreciated the KO2 vs dedicated snow tire comments, good to hear! Thanks again for posting your experiences, which have solidified my choice for M&S tires.
Glad it was helpful!!
Great review.
Hey, I have a new Crosstrek, with the same exact wheels and the same exact tires. +2" / 1.5". My 5th wheel is on the roof if its not on the garage floor. I live in Missouri now, but I used to live in Minnesota for 10 years. Best winter driving in the country.
Also, they've stopped making our wheels. I think that's a good thing, but make of it what you will.
I was hoping to do a similar video this winter...but we don't have snow. :) LOL. At least down in Tucson...The mountain just got some yesterday. Well done bro!
Thanks Rick! I might be over in your area with the Forester in Jan after the new year/holidays. Maybe you'd be around and be up for a day of driving?
What is your opinion on the Geolanders g15? At
My most researched tire are a ko2. I have a 2017 Kia Sorento 3.3 v6.
I’m going to lift it soon...eventually then add taller tires. I have 235 65 r17. Currently. Great channel!
How are the ko2 in rain/flooding
Ima run these next. Currently on the new mickey Thompson Baja boss at and these things are absolutely phenomenal in everything I've thrown at them. They are very heavy tho. Better then my previous set of toyo at3s. 13/32 left with 50k miles on them. 7000 pound yukon denali from the extra weight. I also often. Came with 18/33 10 ply. The bfgs are 8 ply but I still feel like that will solid for what I'm doing and cutting down on some of the weight.
Just put some snow tires on my wifes Highlander and compared to the old M+S on it they are quite a bit better. Doesn't seem so at first but the difference in traction threshold becomes very apparent when you start pushing it.
Yeah, M+S doesn't mean much of anything. Lots of mfgs put M+S on all season truck highway truck tires. The 3 peak rating is where it's at.
Did you use a lift kit or just bigger springs
What year is your forester please and how do you rate the cvt transmission? UK fan
Tray attorro tire got them on my tucson. 235/65/17
I have to correct you I have the GRABBER AT2 & they are 3 peak snow rated..
7:42 high heels in the snow.
betcha the heels has more traction than the tires on yhe vehicle.
How are they doing after a couple of years?
Were they floaty in the rain and slush in the winter or did they push it out well?
my man at 1:58 said fuck it, he ain't waitin on no damn light.
Did these heavy tires kill your mpg’s
Hey! MN represent!
How is the ride quality on the springs compared to stock? Not in the snow but just in general.
If I put you in it and had you drive it without knowing the mods you'd think it was stock suspension. They are a hair firmer, but everyone over exaggerates how firm the King springs are in my experience. With the added 2" of total lift I'm very glad I went with the slightly stiffer springs. Body roll is the same or slightly better than stock too.
I just switched from the GDYR, Duratrac to the BFG KO2 and the KO2 are much much better with snow and wet traction. THEY GRIP!! The Duratrac had horrible wet traction and spun a lot more on snow on my Tacoma.
Man I really wanted the 15” gold black rhino boxers for my 2020 because I like the look of the smaller wheel but also more airspace for a tire but I’ve been doing some research and I think the 2020 can only accept a 17” wheel! If this is true I’m kinda sad. I really dig the look of your wheels man
Could you give us an update please?
The only tire I've had that is better in snow than the KO2 is the Hankook ATM.
Is a lift necessary to run this tire/wheel combo? 14 forester here
Mega Mike Yes and no. I would not recommend this size without a lift. I have a specific video going into this further.
Hi...Good review.....Off topic where can u buy that cap ur wearing ?
Thanks
Thanks! That one is from Off the Grid Surplus. Should find 'em via a quick Google search.
@@HighjakSecondary thanks mate
Beautiful tires I have the Duratrac size 17 an no complains.
You drove by my house!!
Check out: Subaru OFFROAD Australian Sand
Did that guy at 1:57 took a left turn on Red 🚦 ???
Yes, he did!
I tried bf goodrich ko2 225
70r16 with snow rating
no traction..went sideways
at low speed...these tires
suck
I’d be worried about that gas tank that’s sandwiched
Should have looked at the falken wildpeak at3w
I did and I wasn't interested in them. The sipes on the Wildpeaks only go about halfway through the tread thus once the tires are worn they are gone and essentially worthless in the snow. Likely good for the first couple seasons and for anyone in southern/warmer areas, but for a all terrain that sees snow half the year I wasn't interested.
HighjakSecondary I have these on my Expo , going up to the snow today hopefully all goes well!
WildPeaks are Great in snow. I've gone thru 3 feet with no problem. Cut thru like nothing. Also Good on icy roads unlike KO2's which suck on icy roads.
@@dinehbee6168 How many miles are on those Wildpeaks? I'll be curious to hear results once the tread is half gone and the sipping is non-existent.
@@HighjakSecondary it's @ 15 thousand miles now. I'll see how they perform @ 25 thousand which will be half it's life. Other reviews on CZcams show their great past the half way mark on these tires. So I'm expecting them to continue to provide great traction thru the snow & ice @ those miles.
lmao all terrains on a forrest? I dunno about that.
Did your butt pucker up a bit at 5:28 when you passed right of the left turning vehicles and see the cop or is it legal to do that in your state? I only ask because it didn't look like a 2x2 lane road.
Mmmmm not certain it's legal in MN or not. Lol. I live in IA. They probably had better things to worry about this day than to pull me over.
The Duratracs are Hard and noisy, much prefer my BFGs
Colin Dunn The Duratracs are the softer of the two...
@@HighjakSecondary I work at a dealership, I have stacks of the things behind me, take your finger to them. Also had a set when I bought my car. Quickly switched to the BFGs and am way happier.
Experience was…
Hilarious moment at 5:10 where your car is just sliding around while you're talking about how the Grabber AT2's drove like hockey pucks. Ridiculous video. "Saw a couple of accidents" -- are you kidding me.
I'm currently running BFGs Ko2s on my Jeep and it seems to brings me all over the place so far, check it out on my channel.
