BALLING ON A BUDGET SEASON 3 EP 2: WE WIN LOCALS AGAIN?! BACK TO BACK LOCALS WINS WITH TRAPTRIX?! - Hry
this kind of longform locals content is something sorely missing from the wider community. Good stuff
That’s because a lot of places don’t like when you record games.
Also people don’t have the budget to make quality like this
When man said "what does that do?" In response to bottomless trap hole, I felt my soul age a hundred years.
Same man
38:13 Dudes reaction was hilarious “This is like Labrynth on crack” 😂😂😂
This just goes to show you how important knowledge is in this game. This is by no means a broken good deck, but he does so well because he knows not only his deck inside and out, but also the opponent's. We had people play way better versions of this deck at our locals yesterday (non-budget versions) and none of them did very well because they don't have the same knowledge as PAK.
Have you played this deck? It’s legit good rofl
@@ofwgktaDREWdeck is good, not broken, he said just that. It is true that not only by getting the deck you are winning, you need to know the game
No this deck is really good, I just had locals and someone played this deck and went undefeated after 5 rounds
@@ofwgktaDREW played against 4 trap trix decks today.. 2-0 each time. skill drain and clockwork night smacks it down lmao.
@@johnnickfanaccount3492 I didn't say it wasn't good. I just said it isn't "broken" good, aka tier 1 or tier 0 level. It is a good deck. my point is for guys like PAK ripping through Kash and other tier 1 decks like branded, it has a lot more to do with knowledge than the deck because plenty of people play a better version of this deck than PAK was using and don't do as well.
Time thief redoer would be insane in this deck because he could use the traps as material for spot removal, non-targeting too 😮
I love how PAK even helps his opponents like in round 2. He doesnt have to because its still a local but he does it anyways and shows his opponent play he could do like special summoning the cartesia. thats what I call true fairplay!
Teaching other players and becoming better players together is always a fun and important part of the game. It helps everyone learn and grow together and it feels really good seeing someone get helped and take your advice and get stronger in the future.
I once had an opponent who teached me many combos in my new hero deck. I thought I couldnt break his board, but he showed me how to play around it and lost the round.
He gave up his safe win to help me
His reason was "When I win, because my opponent is unexperienced and don't know the timings, then I am not a good duelist. Its win win, you get better, and I get a better opponent"
Very nice guy
@@Walygo yep same mindset I have and others as well. Winning is cool and all but sometimes it feels better to help the opponent learn and get better even if you take the loss. Especially at locals where a lot of players may be more inexperienced or unfamiliar with their decks or yours, dropping them some tips is always super nice and appreciated. It’ll also net you a better challenge in the future for instance or you might make a new friend! All around wholesome and feel good thing to do 🙂
@@lifedeather totally agree with you but not everybody does it. They rather abuse the inexperience of other players.
Ever Since I Started Yugioh Ive watched this series. Took a bit of a break but This series and this deck has inspired me to play again. Keep up the great work!
That deck is so good its defiantly worth the pick up if you want to come back.
@@seddyx8994 i played this with my friend against his branded and shadoll + my other friends dark world it can become a close match i think the only way to shut traptrix is basically prevent sera from coming into play
I only got into playing Yugioh around 4 months ago with master duel and wanted to start getting into TCG, I had preordered 3 of these structures a couple weeks ago and its been fun watching these before they arrive, its helped me understand a lot!
I absolutely like this series and I am watching it with joy. I haven’t seen such a creative way to show how to start with a 30$ Deck, then slowly upgrade it and even show that you can beat every deck with „only“ 30$. This inspired me so much. I always loved YuGiOh from watching and playing but when I started playing locals I spend way over a 100$ to buy a deck wich seemed to perform good. But I won…let’s say…of 6 tournaments „only“ 1. Rest I went 2/2 or lower. That’s why I thought I can only win with expensive decks. But you showed me the opposite with creativity. Keep doing this type of series please. Have a nice day 👍🏻
You’re a great and fair duelist I love how friendly you are and even help your opponents while dueling them!
I love when good structure decks come out cuz this series is dope man. Excited to see the rest
I appreciate you borrowing an expensive card for this episode. Helps capture the realism of playing a TCG on a budget or not. Borrowing is something we all do at least sometimes. Makes the series more engaging without placing so many weird restrictions on yourself.
Love this series! It has inspired me to branch out from the deck I normally play and give other decks a try
So, I think because of the format we definitely need to invest in Nibiru and some more varied board breakers like Kurikara and/or Interupted Kiaju Slumber since we're already playing Kaiju. We could also try and fill out our extra deck. Bagooska for those worst case scenarios, a second Zeus like you said, and maybe an Accesscode/Borrelsword just for edge cases to close out a game.
Then of course consistency tools. Extrav and Prosp. Maybe a Heavenly Prison or 2 since Labrynth seems to be having success with it.
Love that you brought this series back. Only thing I didn't like in this episode is the spoilers to what you pulled in the beginning of the video. I like when there is a cliffhanger clip of you opening packs and getting something good but gotta wait till the end to see. My only critique, love the content; keep it up!
U need to make a full power traptrix list! This has soo much potential
I just finish épisode 1 right now and get hyped not only by the deck but by the player really happy to get the second one now, great begining
Man, watching you open so many ots as prizing reminds me of how bad prizing are in France ( For those interested in the reason, our locals have to buy Ots packs at 3€ a piece whereas they are given for free to US local game stores ).
Anyway, good shit my man next ep is going to go hard with those pulls.
Great content! Love the ballin on a budget series!
Love this series. This makes me want to play this game and you make this deck look so fun. Thank you
Can you make a regular deck profile of the deck??? Would like to see how you would play the deck at a higher competitive level
This was awesome man. Between this and your performances on Duel nights, subbed for sure.
Question, When would the Therion package be good to side in? Feels clunky if you draw into any of the pieces.
Love this series, such a great inspiration.
One small improvement you could do is using microphones to reduce all the background noise
Love the series man - keep going!
Pak is balling out of his mind. Sheesh
Literally stop playing YGO but I love Paks BOAB series it’s way too good! Keep it up big dawg! Love these can’t wait for the next SD
Atypus really is the closer. Parallel exceed is such a huge include and allows you to go into whatever xyz you need off of just a normal.
Do you think there’s an argument for adding an additional copy of traptrip orchard if you’re also running the therion field spell? I feel like the additional normal is very very important in longer games
Love the deck. Caught a illegal action at around the 49:30 mark. You normal summoned Myrmello after already normal summoning a Palicula and Dioneia that same turn.
Also caught it, but to be honest. That guy was getting blown out regardless…
This content fire 🔥 keep it up brother
Traptrix looks really fun !
For the next episode, nibiru or TTTalents would be interesting in the main, and F0/UDF or time thief redoer would be nice
Thrust is also an interesting option
Keep up the balling !!
Personally I found talents to not be that good in this deck. Prosperity does everything you want talents to do but better. I also like maining one Nib one Heavenly prison to search off galant granite.
@@gerbygerbs7705 I'd main 3 because it's that good. But I'll be playing a trap heavy variant. I really don't like wombo combo Traptrix, but it's such a delight watching Pak playing them.
@@gerbygerbs7705 talents can be good for the steal, and prosperity is a very expensive card ...
Gallant granite is a really interesting XYZ for the reason you stated before, but lord of the heavenly prison is also a really expensive card (20/30$)
@@CocTheElf My ideal end board has been sera, rafflesia, granite/sargas and two back row. If I go sargas I have the Omni off of Regulus or if it's granite I have prison/nib. The deck isn't necessarily a big wombo combo, but sort of a stun strategy that plans to kill your opponent on turn 2 or 3
I love how you do the decklist an then actually play it in the tourny, awesome video man also deck looks fun an bery competitive. Is this the list your going to run? Wat changes wud u make now?
I f-ing love this series, way to go pak!!!!
Ruling clarification: holeutea is like paleos, not eldlitch trap monsters. She isn't affected by cosmic cyclone if chained to it, and is set in the monster zone when booked.
what sleeves do you use on your extra for that foil effect?
Did Pak at 49:30ish normal summoned 3 times that turn? He used the 2 normals for raflessia and then normal summoned myrmelio on top of that🤔
That's awesome man!!!I'm using the branded despia deck myself. It's really budget, I built it for $70 .it's not optimal but it works. I love 😍 the way it works. I'm getting better with it and hope to know it as well as my blue eyes felgrand deck.I switch between them to keep things interesting. I love both decks,so that's how I roll.the blue eyes felgrand deck is very anti-mete. Thanks for the inspiration dude. J
Bro, i love your content! I‘m not that good of a player, just playing for fun but i learn alot from your playstyle. This gives me alot of confidence to go to a lokal.
Are you planning on releasing a completed decklist before the series ends? I would like to see what your end result is planned to be so I can go pick up the cards and try to learn what you think the "completed version" of the deck is like.
Would you mind if you showed us what cards you side decked in for each duel? I'm really bad at side decking and I'd love to see how you do it
Jo Pak, would you still run Brigandine in a finished build? It was a astapel in the deckfor the lngest time, but I feel like it really competes with Holeutea for the spot now.
I feel like redoer is a really cool addition. You get the trap effect of him really easily which is nice. Also very cheap i think
You're making me a fan of this deck. Traptrix seem really cool. I like the full duels good content
Love the series Pak! Would love to hear your opinion on Lord of the Heavenly prison and Beargram, shelled emporer of the forest crown in traptrix!
I think thrust is pretty strong in this deck since it can flex into so much going first or second. You can turn an interruption into an extender if you need it, further interruption next turn that pluses on an ashed Sara for example or it can just be used to search any of the amazing equalizers this format has
I think the biggest issue with thrust in the main deck this format is the only monster hand trap you are guaranteed to see in the main is ash blossom, so it's probably dead in your hand going first most of the time.
im not sure how you can turn thrust into a holeutea extender when you cant activate the holeutea the turn its set due to thrusts' restrictions
@@joebusiness38 you can also turn it into shade brigadine if you’re running it in the build
@@Drowzzzzz you also cannot activate shade brigadine the turn its set by thrust
2:24:45 it's a condition on thrusting that you can't activate the set card that turn so I'm pretty sure holatea can't activate even by its own eff but I'm sure Pak knows this by now
that is not correct. the thrust restriction ONLY applies if you set the card by thrust's effect. if you add it to your hand (because the opponent controls a monster), there is no restriction. so you can then set holtea manually and activate it.
would you replace the shade briginde with solemn judgments in the side ?
Honestly wouldnt mind seeing a full concept list after the additions made. Personally going the full control route in testing with Big Welcome and Silver lady along with the Fairyant. Going off your route I'd say go for a Redoer since it capitalizes off of Holeutea along with an Aussa for Nib tokens/Iblee.
Definitely gonna by this deck, I was already hyped when it was announced, but now I'm even more 😳
34:30 Atypus increases attack if you have any normal trap not just Hole, and it only gives exactly 1000 regardless of how many traps you have.
It was a bit unclear, but I'm pretty sure when he said stack, he meant that having multiple Atypus stacks with each other and not that holes in GY stack
On Round 1 Game 2 is it ok to banish the set card with Putica? It still accepts the condition of a speial summon even if moster is set face down?
Went out and bought three structures myself, joining along for the ride!
I get the raigeki for board breaking. If it could fit the budget, would u consider imperms instead? Its normal trap synergy plus can do something going second.
I’m not as good as pak but I’d try to find another way to fit imperm in. I’d play dark hole instead of raigeki for this format because of the iblee lock.
A cheap card you can snag thats super good in this deck is good ol time thief redoer. Being able to guarantee hes made with a trap due to holeutea or shade brigandine is incredibly useful
Having fun with that Exosister new support on MD, might have to give this one a try.
The second match player was giving me anxiety with how he was fidgeting so much and handling his cards lol .
I'm confused in game two he summoned holeutea from his back row, how does that even work even though he didn't discard a card for it's effect?
Pls continue the series, I'm in love!!
I love this much!! How much potential this deck has!
Why bth for albaz? You can just use floodgate trap hole, since albaz doesn't recognize itself once it's set (same ruling for Zeus Vs book of Moon)
Activates Bottomless Trap Hole
Opponent: what does that do again?
gold old BTH
If someone return to the field by the effect of pudica. It counts like a summon? Like… for chain some trap hole cards?
If set with Thrust, can you still activate Holeutea?
I’m fucking loving this series so far
Pak normal summoned 3x in round 2 game2…didn’t matter in the end but I see you Pak lol😂😂
Can you trigger Sera Effect with Arachnocampa effect when she SS her serlf?
God Sera is such an insane card lmao, you can get raigeki evenly'd and still end on like 3 or 4 cards just from the Sera advantage
You the man Pak !
ok im confused all of the traptrix extra deck monsters have some stipulation that say they are unaffected by trap effects yet evenly still works on clearing their board? I don't get that ruling. I get that you are the player banishing your own cards but its still the opponent's trap effect so why does evenly matched still work on them?
Affects the player, not the monster.
Thoughts on torrential tribute since most of your monsters are immune to it's destruction effect
Can i activate traptrix's holetaea graveyard effect in opponent's turn?
The GOOOO!
Question for anyone: around the 58:47 mark he gets evenly matched by the opponent. Extra deck traptrix monsters unaffected by traps, no? So shouldn't they be immune to the evenly? Barely getting back in the game so I'm not familiar with a lot of rulings yet so answers are appreciated.
Evenly affects the player so even cards that are unaffected by everything can be banished by evenly matched.
1:19:54 pretty sure you can summon another warrior, because there were legal non-warrior targets, you tribute first, removing the lock, and then you summon.
Nope
If you activate Holeutea from grave, you can't use Sera's effect so Special Summon from deck, because this is not an activation of a trap but only an effect
i’d highly recommend getting imperms (excellent discard for holotea and in general, good card), solemns (for evenly), linguriboh (for exceed) and nib to kill kash when going 2nd.
I changed for a full power version severel things in the main deck:
Out(allure 2x, raigeki 3x)
In(thrusting 3x, dark ruler 1x,
sales ban 1x)
For dark ruler you can take also raigeki if you prefer more but just 1 copie. Sales ban for going first that your combo gonna succesfully happen (also against people who play gamma) and as a thrust target and for going second also very powerful. Its an omni negate.
Can someone explain to me why Pak uses Traptrix Holeutea `s Graveyard effect as a Quick-Effect, in the opponents turn. I cant see why it is possible and a quick effect? Please Help
Because it's a Trap, trap effects can be used during opponent's turn always even in GY.
what would be a better replacement for Parallel Exceed, Effect Veiler (for monster negates) or Lord of the Heavenly Prison (to protect back row)?
Honestly probably Lord. The trap cards are already enough to cause disruptions
At 49:06 did pak not normal summon 3 times n/s the one to search field spell, then normal summoned dionea and then murillio right?? Or am I tripping.
he normal summoned 3 times
Could you maybe talk about what kind of end-game build this deck would look like?
Anti-Spell is really good for the deck. It blanks L Storm and HFD in games two and three, and you can even Main Deck it because it stops field spells and extension tools.
It is not really needed it because arachnocampa, its still strong although i‘d argue sth like judgment is just better since it stops evenly
3rd time watching this video.. is so good to see the choises of PAK
Jezus gratz pak
What do you think about using the lady labrynth of the secret castel?
Knowledge is power frfr
@all If you could only spend $50 on upgrades, what would you buy?
Honestly, 1 Galant Granite XYZ which searches the 1 Lord Of The Heavenly Prison would be pretty nice addition. Also searchable 3k beater which protects your backrow is always good to have :D
Aaaand searches and set ANY spell/trap for a turn cycle
why would you need LOTP to protect backrow though. Trading a rank 4 for a gallant on field is really mid
It is good its just hard to find space in the deck. He would have to commit to going first and take out a raigeki or something.
Tbh 3 Lord would be good. But space is tight and Pak isn't running generic traps to justify playing it. He can already search all of the trap holes.
Maaaaaaan... I love this series..
Can you explain the use for Therion, springins???
Have you considered a small Vernusylph package at all? I know you run Zeus and Sargas. But with the Traptrix all being EARTH I could see some synergy.
I've thought about this too, not sure how consistent it would be though
I couldn't hear what he said. What happened with round 1 game 1?
The slick white sleeves are just too powerful of a boost for PAKtricks
What do you think of 3 rikka princess and a strenna + teardrop or hyperiton instead of 3 exceed? It's one less body but it creates 2 interruptions
In round 2 game 2 you normal summon 3 times. Pudica to add garden, Dionea to SS, and then myrmeleo... I don't think it mattered cuz you had so much on board anyways, but good to recognize.
Wow, really is a great deck
I really want to see the full competitive version, without the budget limit
49:30 didn't you already normal pudica + dionaea that turn? the myrmeleo was a third normal wasn't it?
Can you explain the kaiju selections plz?
i think torrential is pretty good in traptrix since the extra deck monsters are immune to traps and rafflesia protects the rest
I just love this
