In today's video, I am listening to another Nightwish song which, as we know by now, is always fun. Nightwish is unreal. They are probably one of the most talented metal bands I have ever heard. Floor Jansen and Marko are incredible singers and their contrast here made this song great. I love reacting to Nightwish simply because of their ability to change their sound while still remaining true to themselves in their music. This is my Nightwish reaction to Devil In The Deep Dark Ocean as I listen to another Nightwish song for the first time.

This is really one of the most musical theatre songs and I love the whole thing!
There's another song you'll probably enjoy that will never be performed live. Look up Master Passion Greed. It's Nightwish when Tuomas is seriously angry and hurting and Marko just SLAYS the whole thing.

Weak Fantasy live at Tampere is a good heavy Nightwish song.
Slaying the dreamer is also a good one, is from the same Buenos aires show! Also same vide as devil and deep dank ocean.

@@cudahitz sure is. In that show floor was still recovering from the flu. You see that on the Buenos aires 2018 ghost love score. Also every song she close her eyes, when that single spotlight shines on her. She and emppu were so happy she hit that last note. Dead boys poem is also a good one! But the crowd there is always one big party!

love the back and forth between Marko and Floor! Perhaps Ghost River next? For Master Passion Greed exists no video because it was never sung live. I think there is only an fanbased mixed one when i am rembering right.

3 years ago. I dont see you reacted to Marco singing Pink Floyd tribute of High Hopes. It's so good it became a whole new song. Also, The Greatest Show on Earth, that one is like an epic documentary.
Weak Fantasy at Tampere is one of my favorites. It might not be the heaviest in that it doesn't have any thrashy guitar or thundering double bass but it just seems like the whole track has an intensity to it that most others don't seem to have.
You really need to give Master Passion Greed if you're craving super heavy Nightwish.
This was a little Musical Theater style song. You should check out "Yours is an Empty Hope" live from Wembley Arena. It is one of their heavier ones, like "Romanticide". 🤘🤘🤘

The most complicated thing I've ever been able to sing and play at the same time is Holy Wars by Megadeth. Anything more complicated than that and my voice can't keep the right rhythm. So I hear you on that crazy beat Marko is playing while singing.

@@cudahitz Didn't play it live and never will I guess, because the anger has gone, dealing with the circumstances of Tarja's parting. It's a diss-track towards her manager/lover and they don't want to keep such bad vibes on a setlist.
Master Passion Greed is a heavy dark song like this one, but I'm quite surprised no one has suggested "Weak Fantasy" live at Tampere.

This is one of Nightwish's older songs, from their Oceanborn album. I personally didn't really care for the album version of the song and I used to skip it a lot (it's one of the very few NW songs I skip) but the rearrangement Tuomas did for it here, with Floor's very dynamic vocals (she goes from growling to belting to contemporary to staccato) pairing up with Marko's own dramatic growling instantly changed my mind and how I felt about this song - well, at least this version of it. To think, Floor was sick here and if you check out the entire live album, it started taking a toll on her throughout the latter half of the setlist (which this song was in, but she still kicked it to the moon and back).
You might wanna check out Stargazers and/or Gethsemane, both from the same album, both have live performances with Tarja or Floor - I feel those songs were what really put Nightwish into status as a symphonic power metal band.
I'm really getting the vibe that their album stuff isn't near as good as their live stuff

@@cudahitz haha the albums are really good, and very excellent (plus you can hear so much of the instruments), but Nightwish really excels in live performances for the band and it's a bit 50/50 for the vocalists.
IMO:
Studio!Tarja > Live!Tarja (I feel Tarja over-uses her vibrato during live performances, causing her to be late on her cues, dissonant with the instruments. She used to sing a bit like Floor where she wasn't always singing classical, but it changed around 2000/2001)
Studio!Anette > Live!Anette (Anette sounds really good in the studio versions of the albums she was in, but she can't keep up with a Nightwish setlist live)
Live!Floor > Studio!Floor (Floor's energy and dynamic vocals makes her a very charismatic performer, but in the studio versions she comes off as restrained).
That's just me, though. :) You should check out their album stuff! They're high quality, and they only sound weaker compared to the live because...well, Nightwish is one of the few bands that is just so unnaturally good when performing live XD

I remember listening to Oceanborn for the first time, blown away by Stargazers (imagine a 15 year old trying to sing the 'tragedienne of heaven' line and his voice breaking lmao) and then Gethsemane came in the with the keywork and the Gregorian-chant beat. It was amazing.
Ghost River is also a heavier song.

You mention fan of Metallica. Check out Orbit Culture Open Eye or Mute the Silent. Open Eye from 50 seconds in on best Metallica song since AJFA. Mute the Silent great song, great vid. That said, anything Floor is always welcome. She is the Queen.
Heavy and hard is great, but wouldn’t be nearly as impressive without all of their stripped down, folky stuff. I’d love to see you do a double react music video/live video comparison to either The Islander or How’s the Heart. Both are interesting.

You know what's more 'not fair'? She was just recovering from being sick (I've read somewhere else, the whole band had a bad case of the flu). Even when she is not feeling 100% she manages to sing like this and make it look like its totally effortless. Thát is unfair.
