This was my first time hearing Yours is an Empty hope which was a highly requested song amongst you folks! So to add to my Nightwish reactions, this is another Nightwish reaction for you when I listen to Yours is an Empty Hope.

This is a bit more intimate concert because it's on a Cruise ship.. This is the Nightwish Cruise aboard the Baltic Princess..
TO be honest, if I am going to a concert, I'd rather it be intimate like this rather than a mass production, but that is just me !

A happy song.
The first two are my favorites, quite heavy, but not as rough as "Yours is an Empty Hope". In all three Floor and Marko on vocals.

That was from Nightwish cruise (Finland-Sweden-Finland). First evening was this concert and next evening when returning back to Finland, there was "Nightwish goes acustic".

And since Floor joined NW in 2013, it looks like they are now solid team, full of talent and in addition imo, it feels they are now like a family.
hahaha Dutch Opera,classical, Rock, metal Floor with her amazing low growls. Funny, reactors never understand she is the lower growler. :D She has more than 100 kind of voices. DAMN. Our Dutch Viking Queen. Scandinavian bands are awesome, I am so happy Holland met Finland and are Nightwish as they are now. Never been better.

This is an awesome song! Not the greatest recording but pretty good. I wish I was on this cruise! Great energy! Listen to the Wembley live version. It’s got better sound & video & Floor’s growls are more evident with some close up shots on her. 🤙🔥

The growl that you really have to listen for when her and Marco are singing is absolutely amazing. Play it again and listen for the very low growl! She is one of a kind.

This is the Baltic Princess Cruise version where unfortunately the camera work and editing was subpar, but the audio was OK. The syncing of the cameras with the audio left something to be desired.
Ya I was surprised about the difference from Wacken's quality to this one, but now that would make sense
@@cudahitz Wembley 2015 for production. Mexico City is good, too, but smaller venue. Rock in Rio 2015 has TV sound, but some great video, esp. of Floor.
@@alanfoster6589 Ya, I have a bit of an issue with the director Ville Lipiäinen as he has this thing about cutting away from a band member who is doing something interesting, to a clip where nothing is happening. This tendency is especially a problem when Floor is going hard ass metal. It's like he doesn't want to show her doing something "unladylike" such as growling.
Some of the shots in this video show more of the rigging than the band members. The clips are out of focus, badly framed, and badly exposed. With high contrast problems like this, they should've been using log exposures instead of linear - I could go on and on about all the things wrong with the camera work and editing.
As others have said, at the chorus where they sing 'yours is an empty hope', all the growling is done by Floor while Marko does the clean vocals. Floor is raspy throughout the rest of the song, but goes full on death growl at the chorus :D

Legit kudos for admitting you screwed up and not 'fake' reacting to a song you've seen. This song is awesome, you should watch the Wembley concert version, hellacious.
Romanticide and Ghost River from Wacken 2013 you also should listen to. Then it's time for the big songs The Poet and the Pendulum live from Wembley and then finally The Greatest Show on Earth live from Tampere. I suggest you do a quick review before you listen to The Poet and the Pendulum. There is a deep meaning behind this song.

I think you should try "Devil & the Deep Dark Ocean" @ Buenos Aires before you go to the Big Ones: "The Poet and the Pendulum" and "The Greatest Show on Earth"
i think i might be nice to hear yet another side of nightwish. more dark, emotional and deep (yet very tranquil)

At the end of the day it is all about blowing your mind away with "The Poet and the Pendulum" live from London and "The Greatest Show on Earth" live from Tampere. BUT you have to do some research first (Poet is def. more intense if you know the background story) and maybe you should react to other Nightwish songs first. ;)

@@cudahitz Haha yes ;) Because these two songs are real masterpices. Totally different of what you've seen from Nightwish yet. It's musical art and pure emotions. "Poet" is about 14 min long, "TGSOE" 24 min. A long intensive journey. Killer ;)
@@cudahitz Hey there :-) Yes, that's basically what Marc is trying to convey, but please don't take it the wrong way if someone tells you that you _have to_ research the background story. ;-) I know some people hate that. However, it might help you understand where Marc's coming from because doing some research is deemed beneficial to the experience by many CZcamsrs who did look into the story before they watched Poet and the Pendulum. So maybe it's something you might want to consider doing as well, if at all possible and time permits. The only thing that in my opinion is a non-controversial recommendation, though, is to use the live video from Wembley with lyrics because it's much easier to follow the story this way.

Diablo Swing Orchestra produce music that combine swing, jazz, Spanish-esque, opera, and metal genres considered by Google to be a Swedish avant-garde metal band. Their songs Superhero Jagannath and Guerrilla Laments are worth a listen. They focus more on percussion, brass instrumentation, and lyricism. Also the duo Lacrimosa are a German symphonic gothic rock band and if you listen to them I think their song Keine Schatten Mehr would be worth a look. Cheers.

He didn't notice anything about it. The first youtuber who hasn't heard anything. Floors growl knocks everyone off their feet, if they could assign it correctly. But he doesn't notice anything. You don't even have to pay special attention to it, you just hear it.

@@bencooper4058 Well, I haven't seen anyone who completely ignored the growl. Many assign it to Marco, many also correctly to Floor. But I've never seen anyone who hasn't noticed it at all. This is the first one. At least everything speaks for it.
@@bencooper4058 there are plenty who miss it, especially in this version. Sure it's easy to spot if you know what to listen for, but if you're unfamiliar with the song it's also easy to miss.
You know what, to be honest I at first thought they were Marko (which is why I did not think too much of it) and then when I was corrected and saw it was her, I couldn't re-record the video!
While i do enjoy this performance, generally for Nightwish sticking to Wacken Wembley Tampere or Buenos Aires is a good idea as those shows are better quality both visually and soundwise.
I think this song will grow on you once you've heard more songs and come back to it, it did for me. Also the Wembley version have a bit better sound.
Just pick a random Nightwish song. We want them all. :D

I don't like Marko singing, if you call this singing. He can sing (Islander), but this is, to me, only nice when he's in duet with Floor.
