My gramma retired from the navy in ‘96..she was also a cook(they ain’t call it CS back then lol) but after she retired she got a bunch of contractor jobs over in the Middle East for cooking and she got RICH. I would like to join the navy! I postponed my decision because of family. At the time it was just my mom, brother & me. They passed away than family members disown me. I don’t have anything going for me right now. Joining the navy might give me a boost of confidence. Idk

Respect brother I’m a CSSN with a year and a half in started as an e1 and I already did a deployment and got home port shifted away from my family I can’t wait to get out since I know I’m probably locked as a cs and can’t be a boatswain mate like I want to be before I even joined the cs life isn’t for everyone I know what those 15 hour days be like or even longer I’ve woken up at 0400 and got off during midrats when my master chief fucked us up during a field day walk through

I remember when I got out it was good but I felt weird being a civilian at first, I was a cook also, when I was in it was ms, not cs. Ya it sucked being a cook the recruiter made it sound good, but the long ass hours sucked. I was on 3 ships and they put me in the wardroom on all 3 ships, and the wardroom sucks bad.

Yeah I couldn’t see myself doing 20 years in the navy as a cook. I was a cos cook as well and worked in the wardroom.
