      I love focusing of the main object of the painting. So I liked modern one more I guess. However, I also like the reflections of the main object around the painting like the first one. İt's hard to decide 😅

    • @ScottLufkin
      @ScottLufkin Před 3 lety +16

      I really love the colors in the first painting, and I find the greys in the new one a bit drab (by comparison). It's not so much that the new one has anything wrong with it (it's fantastic), but that first one when I saw it really jumped out and spoke to me. The pear in the new one is just incredible though, so my answer is - the new pear in the original setting. :)

    • @nigrocincta
      @nigrocincta Před 3 lety +7

      I think your own comment was spot on: the original has a timeless classic feel - hang it on the wall next to my aunt's portrait, sure why not? The second is clearly more modern, and would need to be next to modern art. The only thing that doesn't appeal about the second one is the overwhelming gray around it. It's too much "neutral", given the pear isn't a very vibrant colour. Were the pear brilliant orange or dazzling pink, the gray would be needed to relax the eyes. But the green isn't that powerful that it needs all that gray to neutralise it. So make sure you hang it next to something bright, or on a very powerfully coloured wall.

    To me, the old one was done by a "good student", an artist who needs approval. The second one has the maturity of someone who assumes who and what he is, despite the opinion of others. C'est superbe !

    • @vcat724
      @vcat724 Před 3 lety +17

    I prefer more "classical" looking paintings in general. However, the new version is so refreshing and unique in its own way. Also, anyone could've made a generic sort of classical pear painting. The new one, however, obviously has your unique take on it and that's what makes it better. The old one is just a pear. The new one is Alpay's pear.

    I feel warmth from the appearance of the yellow pear painting plus it seems like a soft pear variety. I see the base of the wood giving balance to the composition. When I see your most recent painting, I see a very colorful green and crispy pear although I am not in agreement with the gray background, although I do like the addition of stem and leaf to the pear. Bravo to your personal appearance and sponsorship with Winsor & Newton.

    I like the second painting better. I find the clarity better and the pear has more interest in the shape, colors, brush strokes and texture. Also, the pear stands out as an object more. I like the way the other planes are done with abandon so there's no confusion as to where the interests is and where the eye should go. The second painting has a fresh spontaneous look but the the first painting looks labored with a black background that supposed look like dark Rembrandt like depth but fails to do so. So nice to see an artists progress in his work.

    The pear itself is way better in the newer version, but overall I would still prefer the old painting by a lot - not because I think it is better, but my personal taste is satisfied way more looking at this nice wooden table with a pear on top of it against a dark background. Honestly the pear itself is not even the reason I prefer it. It is rather the overall impression and my emotions that come with it. The pear reflects so nicely light onto the table and the colors of the table as well as the pear are so warm, so inviting that it is very pleasing to look at. And while the dark background helps to make the main subject stand out it has varying levels of yellow in it, which not only give a nice gradient from light to dark diagonally through the painting, but also work very well with the yellow of the pear itself, whereas the new version has a rather cold grey as a background which vaguely reminds me of the sterile look of hospitals or a dental office and is therefore less calming and inviting to look at as the left one.
    Again, this is just personal taste, but I really like the video and I can see why most people prefer the new version - and as I said, the pear, especially the work with light and shadow seem way better in the new version.

    Definitely the 2nd one - is more vibrant (due to chosen colors), fresh and airy; I also like the simple graphic finish of the background contrasted with the 3-dimensional pear when the 1st one is more inspired in old masters paintings, a little bit too academic and too dark for me ;-) That's great opportunity of comparison - thank you for this and congrats!

    Ich würde deine neue Komposition bevorzugen, allein schon weil du meine Lieblingsbine gewählt hast.😂
    Die Farbwahl für den Hintergrund sagt mir auch viel mehr zu.😊
    Zudem spricht mich die moderner Variante mehr an.😁

    I think both paintings are great in their own sense. The older painting is exactly what you said - it looks old, like it could be 100's of years old. It has a sense of traditional, warm and comforting aspects to it. The newer one is definitely more contemporary, there's no doubt about it - it has a feel of old meets new and that is evident in the shape of the pear. It captures the modern representation of how we spent a lot of time bying perfectly shaped fruits from supermarkets but we're now in a more enviromentally concious world where we now seek out the oddly shaped fruit and veg from farmers markets because they're organic and natural. One thing I would love to see (if you haven't already) is a video on your art set up - all things you need/use to set up for an oil painting. Something like that would be extremly useful to someone like me (possibly loads more of your folowers) who haven't got a clue how to venture into the world of oil painting! Big fan of your work my friend!

    Du steckst nicht nur viel Leidenschaft in Deine Gemälde, sondern auch echt viel Mühe und Kreativität in die neuen Videos. Ich mag die Einblicke auf die Vorbereitung, das Setup, die Material- und Farbauswahl, als auch die zahlreichen Blickwinkel während des gesamten Prozess. Aber vor allem, dass man jetzt Dich sehen kann, machen die Clips deutlich persönlicher. Hut ab! 🤓

    I would be thrilled to have the first, it is outstanding and has a comfortable feeling, but I would snatch and run with the new fresh one, it's exhilarating and it is the whole, pristine energy of pear, it commands the whole piece and by comparison the old one is almost apologising to have been caught on the shelf, sweet, but nowhere near a match for the sparkling supernova.

    I like both in different ways. The first one because of its soft and quiet atmosphere, also because of the reflecting light in the background and on the table (beautifull chosen colours which submits harmony) and the language of the picture is clear and pure. The brush stroke of the modern one is casual and pretty cool. The look of the pear is sexy and makes me want to bite in it. Many greetins from switzerland 🇨🇭 👋

    Love the new pear, as good as the old one is it just doesn't have as much character and energy. I've binge watched all of your videos in the last 24 hours and I've just ordered some oil paints. I haven't painted for 8 years but both you and your artwork is too inspiring, thank you and looking to the next video!

    There’s a je nais se quoi about the second one. The original is beautiful. It’s tight, particular, sticking within the rules of the painting. The second one is relaxed, free, alive, interesting, and intriguing. The second one doesn’t have anything to prove. I like that one. 💯

    I have to say Alp I love seeing this new style of video. I LOVE seeing your face! And wow the way you paint so simple and almost willy nilly looking and the effect is so sophisticated.
