The first name that came into my mind for the pinecone creature was 'Rustle', because it sounds a lot like Russel, but instead to me symbolises beautiful autumn days and the soft crunch of leaves. 😊

I'd like to see more of these redrawings of old art, it's always so interesting to see the change in artstyles and ideas and how the new piece might change compared to the original one.
I also loved the 2nd art with the bird kind of creature, especially the original one, there's something twisted and somber and horror in it in a way. But the redraw also made it more happier and goofy almost, like this little creature having a little adventure and waving the leaves in it's hand and maybe even singing?
My mind clearly went somewhere with that piece of art, already trying to create a story 🤣
I just love the "glow" all your marker pieces have... I don´t know if it is the blending, the colors or the shadows.. but your illustrations just have this soft glow and are just beautiful!

Marie, I love your current art style but I LOOOVEE the "voice" of your earlier stuff, especially the cat with the "muscley" ears. I definitely want to see more of the abstracty-line arty stuff if you're moved to do it. That two way face is my fave of the line art ones...

Imagining the little pinecone creature like a forest spirit is adorable! I like to think maybe they’d be like a whole species like that, that they are able to camouflage in the forest so well that people don’t notice them

I imagine him being the one responsible for the changes of the leaves on the trees, maybe he is the one gathering them when they start to fall. ☺️
Absolutely love all your art, the newer ones are so nice and clean, but the older ones are so original and unique! Sometimes I wonder as well how would my current artstyle would look without all the influences from infinite artists and tutorials that might have helped me a lot, but at the same time my art kind of blended together with external influences. Looking forward to a video of your art pieces in the box and sketchbooks!

I think that by far, my favorite part of this video was seeing your sketchbooks! After years of being online and seeing photos of sketchbooks with all of this fancy, elaborate stuff inside, it was really refreshing to see that not every page in your sketchbooks was like that. Your sketchbooks were true work spaces; some pages were nothing but doodles while some pages had pieces you planned out and finished enough to transfer to fancier paper.
Seeing sketchbooks like yours makes me feel better about my own, and makes me feel that I haven't been wasting paper if I haven't been making every page a masterpiece.
I would love to watch you sorting all your art! And it would be great if you turn this "recreating old art" into a series. It's so fun to watch and to hear the stories behind 🖤🌿

I love the redraws. My favorite is the pine cone bird. It Just looks so cute and unique and I love the colors so much.😍
I watched this video with my daughter who couldn't sleep because she'll have her first school day tomorrow. We both adored the snufkin cat (both versions). I fell in love with the old whimsical version of your wood creature, as I'm a fan of that loose whimsical slightly creepy style. She preferred the new one, mostly because of the eyes. We both really liked the coloured version of the third drawing (although I found the looser old version quite charming as well).
Oh, and thank you very much for the lovely video. We really enjoyed our cozy time together watching your art and listening to your voice.

Love the little pinecone guy. I'd call him a Pinesprite, he looks like he or she tidies up the forest floor, organising where new trees can grow, and putting the old leaves out for bedding and sorting the best food for the forest creatures. Lol, I'm a typical artist, I see a picture or painting and I imagine a story about it.. Love the cat and your scene, however, the Pinesprite set my imagination going.. 👍😻🇬🇧😁❤️

Love this video! One of my favourite things to do is poke through my box of old artwork, I love the way you recreated ones with little stories behind them. The new versions are all beautiful, they just add to the stories of the older versions.
Name him Powell (he reminds me of a cross between a pine cone and an owl). I would love an "art box" tour. That would also be an interesting video to see a possible new display option for them. I know most people get like book portfolios I wonder if there could be another way... (no clue what, but you're so creative I bet you could come up with something really interesting. )

Loved seeing the timeline of your art styles! Interesting hearing your thoughts about context and influence too, something that happens in art schools too. I hear that from one art school to the next there are "styles" from the influence of the staff there, that affect the whole cities art scene.

The pinecone creature reminded me of little animals we used to do in autumn of fallen chestnuts, acorns and pinecones. Mum helped me to assemble them with matchstick legs etc. It made me feel so cozy watching you draw something similar. Please show more of your old art and redraw it! It’d be lovely to see!

The MLP art hit me like a truck 🤣 i used to watch your videos so so much, and then i fell out of watching CZcams for a few years. im getting back into it and watching your work again and i remember loving and being so inspired by your pony art.

I actually like the older drawing of kitty explorer better :). The forest spirit looks better in the second picture. And the third one turned out awesome!

I have a couple of questions if you don't mind, firstly expanding on what you said about social media having an impact on your art style - do you think that having your art accessed by so many "critics" affects how you post/what you post online?
Secondly, did you do a video on the Hobbit fan art piece you did? Would you ever do some realism tutorials? I'd love some tips on how to get a more realistic style.

I didn't actually think of the critics, but that is also true! Having all the voices of the people seeing my art and having their opinion on it, it could also affect the art and the style, definitely! But my thought was more about me looking at other artists art, seeing things I like in their styles and applying it to my own style. Also seeing others techniques and way of working with different mediums may also have affected/inspired me. I don't see in as negative or anything, I have learned so much. But I still wonder sometime how different my art would have been without it!
