      The beauclair and bank of sansretour are literally one of the best and most melodic themes I have ever heard. And I have listened to it 1000 times Over years. Never gets old.

      Fantastic series, particularly ME1 & 2. ME3 had great moments but I wasn’t a fan of some of the writing in that game, particularly how the Illusive Man went from being a nuanced, complex character in the previous game to a more one-dimensional “evil” antagonist in ME3.

    I played Kingdom Come Deliverance for around 400 hrs and I cherish every moment of that.. most immersive rpg ever.. I have finished the main story along with all dlcs and side quests twice and maxed out all skills and stats... obviously you can see that I got totally obsessed with this game because of how natural, real and immersive it was and still play it to this day.. it still drops my jaw to see all the cool little details I still find to this day in all the different quests in this game... I actually feel like a real medieval knight living in the 1400s... its amazing, surreal and unreal... realism and historical accuracy is totally off the charts for this one...

    Dragons Dogma was a seriously awesome RPG. I had never played a game with so many mythical creatures. Also I had never played a game where you could actually climb monsters. It is a crazy cool game and can be difficult which also makes it awesome. Another great thing about it is you can borrow a partner from other players online called Pawns. Or you can borrow a pawn from someone on your friends list. Pawns aid you in future battles making it alot of fun. "Mad Max" from 2015 doesn't get much appreciation, but I really enjoyed it. Cruising around the open world looking for treasure, vehicle upgrades, challenging marauder strongholds, gathering loot, with a very good if not tragic main story line, it was very cool. Surprised so many people didn't like it, one of the most underappreciated games ever.

    Kingdom Come deliverance is the single most immersive game I have ever played. I literally spent hours just hanging out at taverns and playing dice... My only real gripe with the game and the one thing I'd caution people about is the combat. Not that it's bad, but it's got quite a skill ceiling if you're new to these type of games and it's especially frustrating when you're fighting more than 1 opponent, because the mechanics seem to be designed for 1v1. But again, an utterly immersive game. A beautiful and authentic medieval setting, great music, great acting, and a good/great story all accumulates into the most immersive game I have played.

      @noahevans4510 Před 10 měsíci

      I played through KCD last year and these are my thoughts.
      Kingdom Come Deliverance 4/10
      Kingdom Come Deliverance is a hard game to review because it presents itself as such a mixed bag. The game truly has so much potential, but it has so many drawbacks that consistently ruined my experience. When it shines KCD presented a fantastic novel worthy story, interesting characters, and fantastic depth while simultaneously plagued from frequent bugs, horrendous combat, and general unpolish at every turn. The game plays like a medieval sim with an emphasis on realism and survival. The systems and RPG elements of the game are innovative and really cool. I loved details like my character learning to read, ride a horse, and more. I played as a high charisma character and was able to talk myself out of most combat encounters or skip quests entirely, which was super rewarding to see the game respond in such a manner. The perk and leveling system also shines too with a plethora of intersting buff and debuffs. The RPG systems are fully developed and are frankly one of the reasons I kept playing. Bar none the best part of KCD is the quests. The game has a gritty but charming personality. The dialoge and humor kept me engaged in a way that doesn't often happen tok. The game is full of unique but believable characters too. I find my self torn in writing this review however, because while KCD has one of the best narrarive I've ever played it also has some of the worst gameplay for any modern RPG. The gameplay itself is slow, monotonous, and glitchy as hell. Looting, notoriety, crafting, item maintenance, etc. are all terrible. Beyond the dull gameplay KCD is also plagued by a plethora of glitches and awful combat. When the game released in 2018 was infamous for its glitches. In 2022 so many of these still remain. Many times over I lost 30+ minutes of gameplay due to bugs or crashes. One of the contributing problems is a needlessly restricive quick save system. You have to pay IN-GAME currency (about 130 gold) to quick save, which is ridiculous when completing a mission may offer 300-600 gold. If you quick save to protect from glitches, then you'll frequently eat into your profit. If you dont quick save, you'll repeat hours of gameplay due to the numerous and frequent bugs. This system is made worse by the numerous game crashes, collision glitches, and failed missions due to nonsensical AI. I estimate I had to reload saves 15-20 times due to glitches, sometimes costing me more than an hour's worth of time. It happened multiple times each session. Another problem I have with KCD is the combat. The combat is TERRIBLE. Absolute trash. I don't think I've ever played a game with worse combat - including titles like Daggerfall (1997) or Zelda 2 (1987). It's needlessly complicated, ineffective, random, and (once again) glitchy as heck. From the first fight until the final duel I dreaded combat encounters. I spent most of my time "cheeseing" rather than fighting. As I played, I wanted to like KCD but also found myself growing increasingly more annoyed by its shortcomings. I'm conflicted to rate a game with such a great campaign so low, but I can't excuse giving it anything higher because of the drawbacks. At first I tried to turn a blind eye to the problems, but by the end of the campaign I was rushing to finish the narrative praying that I wouldn't have to draw my sword on anyone or be bogged down by glitches. KCD has so much potential but in the end it was only a let down. 4/10

    I've spent 2600 hours in Kingdom Come: Deliverance. At least a dozen playthroughs. Easily one of the most immersive games ever made, with the environment being based on real life locations, and the number of ways you can do any of the quests given is amazing.
    One thing that drives new people away is the combat system. It's a not "spam the attack button" system; it's based on real medieval combat forms (if you've ever learned any sort of fencing, you'll immediately recognize the five-point system), and your character isn't the magical Witcher or some all-powerful lordling or any such nonsense: at the beginning, he's a lowly peasant, a wastrel, a pathetic hard-partying lay-about with no skills whatsoever who has to learn everything as he goes along. And gets his ass kicked a lot.

    • @UnclePengy
      @UnclePengy Před 7 měsíci +2

      @@GabrielS111 The game is all about the side quests. The side quests and DLC really flesh the game out, and also get you to see more of the countryside. And a lot of times, it feels like the map itself is really the main character of the game!
      My first play-through, I thought the side-quests weren't important (and the game tries to sell you on the urgency of the main quest, but there are really only a few quests that are time-sensitive), but about 1/3 of the way in you get to a boss, and if you haven't spent time building your character's stats (he starts off as a peasant with literally zero skills, I mean in the beginning you literally go crying to your mother after a guy beats the shit out of you) this boss will be a struggle to get past.
      And a lot of the side quests are quite fun. They probably could have spent more time making the NPCs have more to say (in a couple of the DLCs, they did better) but it's not bad. And this is a first-effort from a start-up game company, and crowdfunded at that, so it's quite impressive.

    #11 Mass Effect trilogy. I really have strong bias for ME3, because before it came out my dad died in 2010, and when this game came out it was at the right time for me and it helped me go through rough time because of my dad dying. One of the main themes constantly repeated in ME3 is HOPE and going against all odds. You will hear this from Shepard, Garrus, Anderson, Javik, Vega, heck even Joker and EDI. Also going back at it, 3rd game is actually helluva lot better written and structured then ME2. ME2 had cool side ("loyalty") missions, but when you take it out, main story is very flat and somewhat weak, alto at the time this game was such huge technical improvement over first game.

      I got Inquisition just to see what the fuss was about. I didn't realize after 50 hours in, I was drawn to the mechanics of an RPG and the beauty of a story it could bring and draw you in as it was of your choice making. Almost 200 hours in that game, I was glad I took a chance to it as it's a top ten game played for me.

      @@Bo0mShakkaLakka Inquisition was terrible upon release and is still terrible to this day while comparing it to the dev's past works. Every single review that is positive of this game doesn't mention BioWare's legacy and it's painfully obvious as to why.

    Middle Earth shadow of mordor. Truly underrated. I have so much fun and can't get enough of it. The game the graphics the controls everything's perfect.

    Glad they mentioned the borderlands series. Recently have been playing borderlands 3 again after beating the main campaign a couple years ago. Back then didn’t know how the mayhem system worked but now with some friends I’ve been doing things like playing through the dlcs, farming weapons at the highest mayhem level, and fighting raid bosses. One of those games that’s fun to play either by yourself or with others (even with the cheesy story). Didn’t expect to have over 100 hours in it but here we are 🤷🏾‍♂️

    I put in over 100 hours playing Dying Light and the DLC The Following. I really liked the game and did practically everything that there was to do in the game.

      Love Dying Light - must have about 100 hours or near on Steam... love the high risk but I remember somebody joined in coop and gave me some OP weapon which kind of ruined it at the time haha

      God yes. It’s still so fun to this day. I’ve been doing a co-op run of it lately with a friend of mine and it’s just as fun as I remember.

    I played The Witcher for about 300 hours and I’ve spent 200+ hours in Elden Ring and beat the game 4 times but I still haven’t seen everything 😅
    I’m always finding out new weapons or talismans or an hidden passage or cave with new bosses or quests!

    Definitely great list! Soooo happy to see KC:D and Divinity 2 get some love in a list still in 2023/24
    Cult following games - Xenoblade Chronicles each game easily has 100 hours. It's maybe not for everyone compared to all these action combat games on the list but very good series (my favorite is 2nd)
    GTA 5, rdr2 and Skyrim of course as well for the classics
