- Amidst a sea of big aero, big power, and big budgets, it’s always refreshing to see a home-built Civic that can still make some more expensive machinery sweat. It’s a classic recipe: drop as much weight as possible, and pop in the biggest motor you can find. Pair it with the biggest tires you can stuff in the fender. Our friend from Gears and Gasoline Ben’s EK hatch is the build that gives us time attack hope - lots of fun, and lots of speed for minimal budget.

me and my dad always call those batteries "PP9" after the little square ones you can get. I also had the exact same battery in my VSM EK9. Worth the money all day, and ive had my car sat for 5-6 weeks and never had an issue starting the car.
I never realized how good Hondas were until my 07 V6 Accord with cai / exhaust/ throttle body spacer was keeping up with other cars that should've smoked it..

I used to drive a badass dc2 swapped turbo civic eg.. it was fun now I just like them because they oil down the track and give us time between runs LOL.. still a place in my heart for Honda's..
I started on turbo toyotas and used to turn up my nose on hondas too. But my em1 (1st performance Honda) has turned me into a believer! Done right, older hondas have immediate response, hold grip extremely well, and who doesn't love screaming vtec @8500 rpm?

This generation civic in the hatch version ek is the most aesthetically pleasing vehicle I can think of. Wheels. And tint is the only mods I would do. Just to compliment and already great looking car. Nothing about this body style is insulting. The plastic trim on the doors that run down the side isn't even ugly. If straight. The interior is simple easy on the eyes. It's just great design imo. It's a bubble ear car that wasn't in the bubble era. I've wanted one since the tuner craze in the early 2000s I was 13. I need to aquire one I think
@Matt sorry I forgot to add out of high production number cars the best looking car ever in my opinion is the 250 GT swb Berlinetta this changes from time to time depending on what type of racing I'm into at the time or if I seen it in a movie. Not long ago it was the lancia stratos. Then it was the lancia Delta integral Hf and that was where I got my user name

Interior simple 🔥🔥🔥🔥6ps k20z3 lsd the only k series gear box that’s lsd in USA non jdm grate choice,try the 4,3 final tho over the 4.7 with the 2.4 the 4.3 gives a little longer ratio to the gear sets and it helps big time,when I was on the 4.7 I felt like I was running out of gear by the time I’m hitting red line witch is tuned @8500 made 232whp 199wtq with -3 degrees of timing pulled didn’t want a to aggressive of Tuned being that I daily drive more than I race it..
Depends on what your goals are... I just swapped to 5.1 for my fg2 much prefer over the 4.7

This is by far my favorite on this channel juts because I have same set up in my coupe and I’m the type that’s all about function over form and I’m trying to get into time attack,love that wheels spec’s and happy to know I can run 255 wide tires on a 17” and not even on a 15” and I do agree the 15” wheels feel much bette but I also agree with more traction and grip💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 I absolutely love this hat and who gives a flying fuck is it’s not a real ek9 he did it rite tho and it looks just as good if not better then a plane old b series ek9 wow it’s a type r I’ll take a k swap any day over a old b series motor.its a better bang for the buck 💪🏾💪🏾
