  • i used a wire nail fir the 2 part, you can use brass drivers, t-pins, rods, etc. this was easier and allowed me to show how easy the process is. any questions, please ask.

thanks, it's just putting together the pieces, visualizing the process and trying to make it happen as best as you can. I'm not a master by all means, but I do get lucky and can sometimes pull it off. I have my fair share of mistakes and hiccups working on CLs. Murphy's law does have it's moments of humbling me when I think I have it all sorted out.

@@j.gabriel8573Can't ask for anything more than that! Either way you end up with great stuff, you've learned something new and had a good time doing it! and yes, Murphy always lurks in the background lol

You working with super small pieces and lathing bits is insane, so steady and precise for such precise pieces..... I work with 3mm and 2.5mm bits, you're easily working under 2-1.5mm bits for this stuff with no issue. That's crazy how steady you are with it. I feel like you're a life-time machinist, how else would you have that stability?

started CLs almost 3 years ago, and have no prior experience in this. I am mechanically inclined and have a good understanding of figuring things out. it comes from the learning curves, trials and errors. if someone like me can do this then really just about anyone can

I also recommend LSK's how to make hard CLs, even Dmac has some excellent videos,, I wished I knew which ones I started watching on pin in pin pins. I wish you the best and I hope that you find some inspiration, insight, and learn something from my videos. thanks for taking a look

it boils down to what you want to do, tool's and what types of pins and how far down the rabbit holes you want to go? a solid start is simplicity, not going all weird with.pins, experiment with the standard pins and profiles. you don't have to go nuts and make wild pins to make hard CLs. the few takeaways are when done, the lock should be harder to pick open, should be fun to make, show progression with your CLs. you don't want to come out showing everything you got, definitely don't blow your wad at once. definitely have fun, you will get passed your learning curves, plus you can reach out to me and other challenge lock makers, we're here to help
