    The best Shave Brush on the market today is my Simpson Trafalgar's T-3, better then boar cheaper in the long run, it is 29mm. i mic-ed it' it's like buying a $443.99 Simpson 30mm Chubby 3 Super CH3S Badger Shaving Brush, no cleaning the brush, no need for a brush stand, NO SOAKING time ready to go, fast drying time, . will not fall apart like a Badger or boar hair can and it will fall apart at some point in time, no brake in time, affordable to buy, I have owned it for 5 Years with no hair loss with no problems. I own only One Shave Brush wheelchair Larry Happy New Years

    I could not agree more bud. I like RR for selection of great low cost performing synthetic brushes. PAA for a great price with some more style, but the selection is very limited to like 4 of fixed color, and WCS for a slightly higher price but a larger selection of excellent looking brushes. All are made outstanding and performed great for me. I only splurged on a couple custom Wolf Whiskers for a more unique shape and artistry. Peter is a great guy to work with and is truly a craftsman.

    In line with Pat Kaczmarek's comment, I also have a Kent Infinity Silvertex which loses strands each shave. I wonder if the English brush makers didn't get a bad batch of adhesive because I know that Cris from Another Cut Above had a Simpsons brush that also shed hairs unexpectedly.

    • @IAMCDB
      @IAMCDB  Před 3 lety +1

      Yea, a synthetic shouldn't be shedding after a use or two. Sometimes they drop a fiber or two that are loose in the knot but repeated shedding is abnormal for synthetics.

    Chris,
    I keep coming back to this video, because out of the shave channels I normally watch, you are far and above the biggest proponent of synthetic brushes. Not a bad thing.
    You have both custom made brushes such as Wolf Whiskers and factory made ones like WCS in your collection. I’m sure things such as craftsmanship, aesthetics are major pluses to the custom experience.
    Do you find a huge difference in performance between the customs and the factory brushes?

    • @IAMCDB
      @IAMCDB  Před 4 lety +1

      Great question. It used to be that the custom makers were able to source knots quicker than the vendors selling the budget brushes but this really isn't the case anymore. The synthetic knot market is wide open now and has mostly equalized. So if you're buying a custom brush today, you're mostly buying for the craftsmanship and aesthetics. That said, a brush maker can discover a new knot tomorrow and have the edge for a time, but it won't last long. The flood gates are completely open with synthetic knots now and there are few secrets:) This wasn't always the case.
