I Just want to say Thank YOU my Friend! I was struggling with shaving all my life... Tried everything. Nothing helped. Bites, rash, blood all the time... The neck part always rashed, and with spots and pain during the whole next day after shaving. And few days back I just said its enough. Enough watching "geofatboy" shave perfectly, maybe its not a sales trick, maybe those razors truly work better. Bought a DE89 without any hope. First shave today and what can I say, first time no rash on the neck plus its baby smooth, also first time. Next Thing I do, I am going to buy a Boar brush. Sadly you from other side of the pond would definitely buy from You Sir.

I am really enjoying the Simpsons Trafalgar T2 that I bought from you several weeks ago. Works great with creams or hard soaps. Feels great and is low maintenance. No shedding! The timeless look, craftsmanship and value exceeds price paid and I look forward to using it at every shave. The T3 would have been too big and the T1 too small. Highly recommended! Great video!

Hi Geo, thanks for the video. I just bought the synthetic #1. I also own the Proraso brush. One tip for new #3 owners. When it gets wet it stinks like a wet dog, it really has a pong. Before you can use it soak it with water and a dish detergent. After that mix a leather with a good smelling soap and keep it 24 hrs. Repeat the soap process and you will see that majority of the stink will disappear. Have a great weekend.

Better still just use shampoo first and then conditioner since it is, after all, a natural hair brush. Other than that i agree with you and very quickly any brush is broken in becoming remarkably soft. Best value are the boar brushes.

I got the Omega boar hair with the beechwood handle, which I believe is the same brush but with a different handle. It's definitely not my "everyday" brush (I love my Edwin Jagger Super Badger) but it's really good for days when I decide to use shave soap instead of cream, it's great for making a lather. Most of the time I prefer a soft badger brush but once a week it's nice to get the exfoliating harder brush, it's invigorating and refreshing.

I have the Omega boar brush but with a wood handle. Geo is right, it's a nice stiff brush if that's what you are looking for. Happy with the brush part and it has lasted well, even storing it handle down (I do try to get as much water out as possible after the shave). Only problem is that the finish is starting to wear on the base of the handle. I would still pick the wood handle over the chrome as I would prefer the feel of it, and the brush is inexpensive enough that I've definitely got my money's worth.

I have the Proraso by Omega and it's great for the price, I got one for my dad too. I tried a cheap synthetic "no brand" brush before and it was terrible with hard soaps (Proraso and Arko).
I will consider a Simpsons or Muhle brush (probably natural) in the future, but idk what to get.

Hi, Geo. Thank you for this video. I'm new to wet DE shaving and I recently bought a Simpson T3. I've been having a bad experience with mine and I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if I've received a defective brush.
The brush builds a lather very well but when I try to apply lather to my face, it doesn't lay on thick and evenly. It does the opposite. With each stroke I make, the brush wipes lather off my face. The more strokes I make, the less lather ends up on my face. It's very frustrating. I've tried different shave soaps (Proraso, ToOBS, Mitchell's) and different stroke methods (figure eight, holding the handle, holding the knot etc.) but nothing has helped. I thought maybe the brush needed to be broken in and would work better with time but it's been six weeks and no change.
Have you ever experienced this with a shave brush? Do you have any recommendations?

Vinegar is an acid and wont be good for a shaving brush or metal razor. There are plenty of information on the internet on how to do that if you search for it. You wouldn't use vinegar to clean your own hair. Try a clarifying shampoo and conditioner afterwards.
