Can't Believe We're Finally Doing It! 6.7 Cummins Delete

- *Check all your local laws and regulations* In this video, we delete our 2018 Ram 3500 with a 6.7L Cummins. We install an aftermarket grid heater, and straight pipe exhaust! Shortly after this, the clutch was wiped out! So we then installed a South Bend clutch, but there's no video for that. Like, subscribe, and enjoy!!! Thanks for watching, see you in the next one!

It’s almost like you are being penalized for purchasing a diesel truck. Meanwhile billionaires are flying rockets without emissions equipment….go figure!!
The government have free emissions vehicles brand new ford's Chevy n rams deleted from factory
EGR is like breathing your own farts. Which I do
I think you have a problem you may wanna get that looked at
Damn bro! I think you need to look into doctors to see if YOU can be deleted. It might be hard to find a doc who’s willing to perform the work though, you know how the gov is!
Your Cummins appreciates the delete. Should have done it way sooner.
The EGR is the worst thing for a diesel #2 is the dpf.
I wish I had this video when I did mine. Great in depth video thanks
Don't scrap or cut anything. Put it in a crate and store it forever. You never know when Gretchen will be coming for you!
Stretchen Gretchen
Saving the money by installing it yourself👍👍👍 what 110% you should've used the banks kit... They did a really good write up video on performance gains using their kid comparing others
Oh wow, you have a manual. I have a 2018 G 56, 3500 single wheel. The bypass cable is needed in my application, thank you.😃
I deleted mine last year and the company I ordered my delete kit from out of Canada got shut down recently, they're definitely coming after Canada
I think if it was a Flo-Pro kit, they’ve just changed names. A lot of the parts I used were old Flo-Pro, but labeled as Mel’s Manufacturing.
The F250's engine bay is more cramped, but deleting EGR requires less work than the Ram 2500's, which has a less cramped engine bay.
Am I correct to assume your using the old gaskets on the blocking plates? I'm sure it's fine just wasn't sure if I should buy new gaskets
Yes we are using the old ones, we inspected them and they were not crushed beyond re-use. We will keep an eye on them and if they start to leak (it will be very evident from the soot) they we will replace them as they are very easy to get to.
They make a cap kit for all the electrical plugs
M12 getting it done
id do it for the longevity wise , 80hp tune on a standard out put to match the high out put , do your tranny upgrades first before adding tune thou i would say
Stock trans should handle a lot more power (being a stick shift), and so far just a delete tune with no power. It blew through the stock clutch in every gear so we put a South Bend Dual Disc good for 650+ hp. It’s good now!
Hey, I accidentally sapped my heater wire what do you think may have happened.
I’m sorry, I don’t understand your comment. Swapped, or maybe zapped? If you could explain a little more, we would love to try and help.
Typo zapped. The wire touched metal and im afraid it fried something. There’s a black spot on the connector.
@@tonyboneize not sure what to say. Probably need more details or pictures. If there’s just a black spot, it could still be working. I think if you search online theres test procedures. Then you can diagnose and possibly see if it needs replacing.
Hey man,,I just bought a 2008 6.7 ram 🐏,,,it came out with a delete,,,but still have everything stock,,,does it normal?? Any suggestions
I’m sorry, I don’t understand what you’re asking. Your truck came with a delete but all the stock parts are in it? Please clarify and we will try and help you.
@ChrisAndLink yes it sounds weird but that's how it is,,,,it has everything except the DEF,,components
Ok, I see. So if it has all the components, except DEF, that makes a little more sense. The 2008 Ram never had DEF systems (2013 is when Ram started with DEF). If it had all the other components, there is a good possibility it has all been disabled with the tune in the truck. You should make sure it is tuned to run without all of that junk IF you are planning to remove it. I know that some box tuners require some of the components to be removed. Hope that helps.
I always thought about doing a delete. Texas is doing away with safety inspections in 2025. According to a friend of mine who happens to be happens to be an officer for the Texas Department of Public Safety, starting next year (2025), they will begin pulling diesel pick-ups over and doing an emissions test on site checking for diesel delete. If found deleted, they will issue a citation. The long & short of the story is, you will have so long to show the delete has been done away with and emission controls are back in place. It is at this point, they will conduct another emmisions test. What a damn shame.
Fck em tell em come get it they can suck it
I do what I want with my shit unless the government gonna pay for it they can f the f off
It's time to sue EPA based on Chevron deference Supreme Court ruling.
You can see why they sometimes lift the cab off.
Great video! What year is this truck?
Just bought a 2024 and the price to buy the delete kit is close to $6K usd. Too expensive right now and will wait till the prices drop.
Thanks! It’s a 2018.
I'm in the same boat but with having to swap that ECM out gonna keep them expensive I got a 22 I want to do as well
I love trucks
What tune did you use to delete it? I have a 22 2500 that need to delete
We used EFI Live. No Autocal, my local diesel shop hooked up his lap top to upload the tunes that his tuner wrote for the truck.
If according to the clowns in DC who say no human is illegal, then no truck is illegal either. You paid for it! It’s legal!
I'm definitely not a fed just asking for a friend. Where did you get the delete kit from?
Well, as we’ve said before, we are in Canada and so far not illegal here, and it is a Mel’s Performance kit (Previously known as Flo-Pro), and we purchased through a reputable shop here in Alberta.
I agree with you these emissions are nothing but a pain in the ass but I don't think you should be advertising you're doing it, next thing they'll bring back drive clean if the government thinks there's too many people messing around with their emissions I'm even actually surprised CZcams doesn't flag this the way this cancel culture is today. Things like this should be kept out of sight and then it stays out of mind.
The new info is now that the Cummins recall is for the EPA to find the people who deleted their trucks and if you don't go to get it taken care of at the dealer, they are coming for you.
We are in Canada. No EPA here. 😎
Seems true as I had to take my truck in to have the recall done on the emission system and the dealer gave me paperwork that had to go to the DMV .
What I don't understand is that if you have a delete done & your. Milage improves wouldn't that mean your engine is running more efficient? I think the. E P A should be banned .
Just so you know, what you are taking off your truck is not scrap. To buy everything new and make a truck like yours emissions-legal again would cost around $17,000 in parts alone.
We are keeping it all in storage. I’d hate to put it all back on, but you never know…
17,000 to make it emission legal but reliability is in the can when it's connected everyone went to pacifying the e.p.a. when they came up with the restrains and told reliability to eat shit and raised the prices up the industry really is something
It's illegal everywhere, isn't it??
Not in Canada. That’s where we are.
Same factories are building trucks with no emissions equipment going to other countries.
@@chrisroberts5099 They ALL can and do depending on where it gets sent. Military vehicles don't have it
@@ChrisAndLink, what province are you in? In Ontario, the new safety rules for heavy-duty diesel will start in July 2024 and for light-duty diesel in January 2025. The shops will be required to take pictures of certain areas, which include the emission equipment and if the emissions equipment is missing no safety certificate. Therefore no license plates. Better keep all your emissions equipment in case you need to reinstall it.
100% correct.
FJB
I damn sure wouldn’t tell the whole world I’d just do it and go on with my business hope epa doesn’t bang on your door at 4 in the morning
He's not in the US
Yeah to be honest as much as I like watching the process posting the shit is kind of like waving the white flag
Please put a muffler on it
The turbo IS the muffler. Mufflers are not required on turboed vehicles cause the turbo acts to muffle the exhaust.
@@tdotw77 NO.. thats just wrong LOL
Muffler 😅
I'm not a tree huger or rabbit f#cher. I have done extensive work for about 20 years for a company that does emission research, Diesel emissions are a huge thing brother.
We love our home and the environment. Yes, we understand. I’d love to know what’s worse, burning extra fuel, DEF (and the associated packaging, shipping, etc.) vs. less fuel. Like with emissions equipment is there more g/L of less harmful emissions vs. no emissions equipment producing less g/L of emissions. Anyway, with Canada vs. China, India, Russia, most of Africa, what we’ve done here is merely a drop in the ocean. We love planet Earth and want to enjoy and keep it pristine. DPFs are diesel PARTICULATE filters. Particulate settles out of the air, like dust. Not trying to make things worse, but we do spend a lot of money on these trucks and would like to make them last.
Lol. No they arent. All of the emission research works with multipliers. They take current emissions from vehicles then multiply year over year as if all of the vehicles are still driving and running while multiplying for growth. They never factor in that year over year the older vehicles are crushed as the newer ones come in. So their projections are always way off. And inflated. Mostly on what ifs.
If I tell you there is gold in the atmosphere you just have to figure out how to capture it. You can research it for 20 years and come up with some similar features of gold found in the atmosphere and there still wont be gold there.
Sadly, I wish I had the capacity to explain the bureaucracy behind the EPA, and how they determine emissions; and there is a TON of it. I was stating in my comment (not in specificity) NOX is a very bad neurotoxin amongst other chemicals that the DPF, DOC, SCR filter out very effectively. UREA (DEF) renders NOX almost to 0% ppm. Combusted Diesel is nasty stuff when analyzed with Horiba or AVL equipment. I'm all about making more power by deleting these things, I was trying to make light of just how bad unfiltered diesel is. I wasn't trying to insult your intelligence, I'm sure you've done your due diligence and research this topic. When you're behind a fella that "Rolls Coal" don't breath it, once you educate yourself on whats in it. It will change your outlook of diesel exhaust emissions. @@calebjackson4708
One more thing we wonder is about the unburnt or unused DEF and how bad that is for us to breathe. I think scientists are starting to find evidence of it killing honey bees and plant life near roadways. I know that walking behind a DEF spewing diesel, it sure does burn your eyes and nostrils! I’m sure that’s not good for us either.
Unburnt/Untreatd DEF is Coaked on the DEF injector outlet, causing MIL codes, easy fix if the OEM would publish the issue to buyers. DEF is essentially a synthetic urine, diluted with H2O. Even Google gets this search right. @@ChrisAndLink
