Something that helps the G8 is to turn on DTS:X 3D SURROUND and set it to side to side. It does make a difference. Not a great difference but you can tell the difference.
I hear what you're saying. I own both the G7 and the G8. Whatever Improvement through settings you want to make to the G8 you make equally to the G7 and it's simply sounds Superior at the top and the bottom. I don't know what LG did being that they both use a ported tube. I don't know if the driver is different or what but it really was too bad because I wanted to G8 OLED display but not at the price of this sound quality. Amazing freaking phone though
Do you know that G 7 + G8 both have Bluetooth aptx apt X HD. To this day the highest quality Bluetooth transfer of audio that premium phones today still don't have. They definitely focussed all on audio on this device
Putting the equalizer to custom and shifting it all the way up will make it louder for sure, thats what I did. I also had the g7 and I agree it was definitely louder, I got rid of it and got the 6t, which I really like but the cameras on the g7 were better imo. That being said, I like my g8 better than both of them, 2 words, the cameras!✌🏼
I shifted the equalizer all the way up but the made a very, very slight V shape, just brought down the middle a little bit to balance out, then press ok on the bottom right, if not it won't register.
The DTS:X 3D is for the external speakers as well. It does give it a bit of a boost. Kinda like the S9 and s10 when you turn on Dolby Atmos it gives is a noticeable boost.
LG G8 will change the Speaker sound if you click DTX-3D them equalizer them change to front, side to side or wide, a lot room to play, something that you can't not do with the LG V40 on speaker you have to use the headphones not sure in LG G7...what was the setting on the LG G7 normal....also something to consider is breaking the speaker the LG G7 speaker should be already break.

This isn't a deal breaker for me, G8 all the way. I value the better chipset, bigger battery, more ram, ToF sensor, and OLED more. I rarely use the external speaker and when I do I don't need it blow my ear drums out. G7 still wins as far as volume but G8 all the way IMO.

I tested these devices using the headphone jack. As much as I can hear, the G8 gives the same quality through headphone but with higher volumes. No, I don't think that the G8's speakers can be fixed with an update. Acoustics rely on physical build , they won't change unless you start changing something physically on your G8. With a software update they may limit the sound volume a bit and that may help to achieve a bit clearer sound, but I doubt it will change significantly. I did have LG phones and I want to buy one only for music listening. Thanks to your video, I think I will choose LG G7.

The phone's speakers may not compare to other flagships, but the sound is better compared to the G7 and G6 because it is using a stereo speak set. First of all, listening to music though any phone will be a bad experience. Music should be listened to through two speakers to create maximum potential in watts (bass) and treble ( mid-high) Also a "Slider" is called a "Fader", the shape of your EQ should look like a W, so that way you have a +5 boost in Low/Mid/High.

Hey long press the dts x 3dsound icon above or in the setting. You can see 3 options there to have a sound quality. You will see options wide, front or side by side. The default option in the phone is wide but I change it to side by side. Its more louder.

Yup g7 way better top end and bass. You sir know exactly what your saying. The phone to this day is still the best sounding Android on the market and by a significant margin. Place this phone down on an ideal surface and the sound is greatly improved even more. I have people come over and cannot believe the sound their hearing is coming from a cell phone It also has Bluetooth aptx for those of you that may be familiar with that version Bluetooth 4 HD audio quality. 3.5 mm it and the power and quality of those quad dacs phenomenal. I run this G7 into my newest h k receiver and the sound is mind-blowing for a cell phone and better than any laptop on the market. My G7 do now is 5 years old and falling apart after having a few accidents However I'm rebuilding it.

Posting on my LG G8: G8's got tinny mids, bass delay, and heavy distortion at max volume. Super disappointed. For spoken word or CZcams, I prefer my G6's mono speaker to the G8, that's how bad it is.

@@TheTechPreacher yeah i bought used g7 for 50$ yesterday and now i test it and give my samsung a50 to my mom, lg still is better i was big fun of lg, remember first models like chocolate, shine, k990 but after my friend show me samsung s2 where everything was better i use samsung many years, now i am back to lg, they still use that type of tunning their speakers with focused on most of highs, even my mother samsung s4 sound better and more "full". Overall if you are headphone audiophile and conscious consumer lg used flagships have still great value but if you dont care about dac, recording audio in stereo 24/192khz just better to get something else.

Although people do use internal speakers, 80% of time its just because they are listening to something on the go and dont bother to get earphone/headphone for, or else they are only used for ringtone alarm or notification. So for that purpose i dont want companies to spend extra money choosing good speakers for us. Instead put in better dac or something. If the case was: both g7 and g8 speakers cost same still lg went with crappy one on g8 its questionable. But as long as its cheap and works for what its intended to do. Its fine

Posting on my LG G8: G8's got tinny mids, bass delay, and heavy distortion at max volume. Super disappointed.
For spoken word or CZcams, I prefer my G6's mono speaker to the G8, that's how bad it is.

Did you try disabling the inglass speaker and test with only the downfiring speaker? Seems like the forced sterio is whats causing the muffled sound.
If you Max out all the EQ settings on the G8 it will sound better.

LG G8x is too quiet, even the Samsung S9 sounds louder when plugged into car stereo via cheap 3.5 connector.

@@TheTechPreacher yeah i bought used g7 for 50$ yesterday and now i test it and give my samsung a50 to my mom, lg still is better i was big fun of lg, remember first models like chocolate, shine, k990 but after my friend show me samsung s2 where everything was better i use samsung many years, now i am back to lg, they still use that type of tunning their speakers with focused on most of highs, even my mother samsung s4 sound better and more "full". Overall if you are headphone audiophile and conscious consumer lg used flagships have still great value but if you dont care about dac, recording audio in stereo 24/192khz just better to get something else.

@@TheTechPreacher You missed the point. If someone like audio/songs so much, they already have a good headphone/earphone, if someone wants some boom, they already have a good speaker system. Although people do use internal speakers, 80% of time its just because they are listening to something on the go and dont bother to get earphone/headphone for, or else they are only used for ringtone alarm or notification. So for that purpose i dont want companies to spend extra money choosing good speakers for us. Instead put in better dac or something. If the case was: both g7 and g8 speakers cost same still lg went with crappy one on g8 its questionable. But as long as its cheap and works for what its intended to do. Its fine
