- In this video we work on the Polaris Ranger, that has been having a ton of of issue recently, (also fuel pump issues as I found today). But regardless, the inherent rotting 4x4 spring that plagues so many of the polaris rangers and quads has finally rusted away. We get into replacing this spring on the side by side and also dig into a bunch of other issues this thing has been having.

Hey! After putting everything back together, did you ever run into the trouble of the vehicle thinking it was in a different gear than it actually was. For example, the display shows that it is in reverse, but it is actually in neutral.

I had same non-charging issue. It was a faulty pcm where the regulator/rectifier side of pcm went bad engine kept cutting out and battery went flat. I ended up bypassing the pcm just cut the wires that go into pcm from engine rectifier and connect them to an added aftermarket regulstor/rectifier for a motorbike (that converts AC voltage from engine rectifier to dc 12volt and it charges battery perfectly now. Saved purchasing a new pcm which costs $1000 here in Oz. Charges perfectly and if ever goes bad, replacement is only$ 110 Aud part. Separates charging from pcm.
Would you happen to have a picture of how the cog ended up sitting to get in all the correct gears?
That belt was for sure upside down for whatever reason. Also if that gets wet in there it’ll slip and smoke. Just dry it off and you’re good to go. Loving your videos. I have this same rig. Sometimes it’s aggravating but man they are versatile machines. I need to get mine running like new again. Currently dealing with an electrical issue. Thinking it’s the starter solenoid or relay just left of the battery maybe? Everything works but starter drags and it’s the second new one. I don’t think it’s been that the whole time now 😂 I got a new one so I gotta try that and battery.
My starter drags as well for a second after startup, I believe it just needs shimmed out, seems like a common issue on these machines

I got a question for you that sensor that runs to the transmission will work in one direction when I get it in position. I will shift in to neutral then high and low but when I shift back down it gets stuck on reverse and won’t show anything else other than that on the sensor. Any way to fix this?!
mine shows that it is in reverse when it is in nuetral

So I don’t have a full video, but if it’s the same issue I had it’s all in the detent in that shift box
