Johnny was a true blue American capitalist pig too make no mistake about that. I love Johnny but he was a typical money grubber to his core and he was tight af too. It pissed Johnny off that less talented bands made more 💰 than he did. He always dreamed of being a millionaire and he finally made it around 1996 when they retired. Johnny said he only lived off of his road show per diem. and he deposited every paycheck into savings. He never made a withdrawal into he married Linda……🤣…..😂.
Michael Frierson I don't wonder whether I would still be able to smile if I had to take the lead of the Ramones for making things work so to make a living for everyone out of our music. And this is because I am 50 and the early divorced mothet of male twins aged 17. 😑
One weird about of the Ramones, is the majority of the Ramones aged the best out of any band. John looks late 20's/early 30s. Marky still looks young, Joey looked in this 30's too. Aside from looks, I believe they are THE ONLY band that said they were going to retire and actually did retire from the group.
ArKay74 THANK YOU so much for this video. I have watched it and liked it and loved it over 4 times... Do not get tired of it. Love the close up on Johnny. No matter what anyone says: I love Johnny and all his true self. Thank you so much for this treasure! One of the best videos I have seen. Respect. ♥
The Ramones are just the best! I have to listen to them everyday. Their music relaxes me where I can fall asleep. There will never be another band like the Ramones. Thank you for this video...
The Ramones did start in 1974. They played at CBGB'S in 1974, recorded demos in 1975, signed with Sire (And Seymore Stein) in 1976, thus their first album. By 1977 they had already released their third album (Rocket to Russia)
@MrTomt27 I believe not all the band members were inducted. It was just Joey, Dee Dee, Johnny, Tommy and Marky. Neither CJ nor RIchie were included, although Tommy made a point of mentioning CJ in the induction speech, thanking him for "Keeping the band young"
johnny ramone was just a very honest person. i respect that. if u don't agree with some of things he's says, that's fine. i just hate it when people bash him. have some respect, he's a legend.
Exactly. He said what was on his mind...which seemed to usually be the truth. Things most people are too afraid to say..because they are afraid that others won't agree with them. The dude obviously didn't care what other people thought of him. He was secure. I have nothing but respect for him. To me, he was the Ramones...at the least, he was the Ramones' sound.
Richie was a good drummer, he got a raw deal but thats rock n roll...at least he's now immortal as having been one of the RAMONES best band ever! he should be happy!
There’s actually a minor chord in blitzkrieg bop. The B chord in the bridge is minor, listen to the isolated track and watch live vids, he plays a Bm at the second fret. No 7th but still Johnny knew minor chords
thats what i ment to write Johnny didnt steal .. I know the whole story I was distracted by a family illness and they I knew were going to die & they recently did just got back 2 NYC why are so many people here bitching over THE RAMONES and speaking 4 them like they lived next door or as if they were in the band? like 1 guy said as well they are dead let it go they didnt even know the band its so silly They were a great band &unique Joey had a great voice all were great
I saw this on tv so I didnt see the deleted scenes. I always like the hear incidents and examples of ramones situations. "He was a special guy" haha. Im gonna get some pvc pipe and hook my bowl up in my shower. Sounds sweet. Fuckin johnny, I woulda been drinkin with deedee, richie, and joey, if I was him.
I agree. He was just more mature and much, much more responsible than the others. I have never heard another guy get talked down about as much for being responsible as I have Johnny. He was the 'adult figure'. A lot of people don't realize that if it wasn't for him, the band would have fallen apart right after Tommy left. Someone had to set boundaries, rules and keep everyone in check. Frig, 2 of the 4 had actual mental illness. There had to be a disciplinarian...
Ramones came from Forest Hills NY, they started in 1974, broke up in 1996, i cant tell how much of a damn influence Ramones means to hundreds of punkrock bands in world including that shit green day
Joey didnt STEAL Linda you cant steal people or make them love you and you dont know people what was going on .., I do knowone of the reasons why Linda prorably left though I will never post anything about someones personal life....yea I knew them .
Yeah Richie not even all those good memories with the guys kept you from trying to get the "t-shirt money" and suing them. And I hate people always talking shit about Johnny, he was a prick, but and honest one, without him acting like a militar the ramones would never have suceed. He was a strict father figure to all of them.
Get over it. Johnny Ramone wasn't asking you or any Ramones fan to be Republican like him. If 99.9 percent of rock musicians are Democrats (and a lot are Eddie Vedder/Michael Stipe/Rage Against the Machine left wing poster boys), what's the harm of having 1 Republican every so often? I thought the Democrats were supposed to be party of tolerance. I guess that only applies if you think like them. That's prickish behavior if you ask me.
@mo0nbuggy xDDDD. Maybe that was his purpose. To kill a bunch of innocent people and then die. now that I think about it, it does seem plausible. A bit screwed up but plausible.
I am 37 and the only band I have seen that was good was Nirvana. Pearl Jam, STP and Beck had moments, but overall it has been total shit. I don't know anything good today September 25, 2010. I would unplug everything.
Johnny never smile's but after a show milk & cookies just makes him the monster 😂
Richie is so underrated
Johnny may have been grumpy and difficult most of the time but you can tell he really did "care" for his band mates and enjoyed every minute of it.
They hated each other.
Johnny was a true blue American capitalist pig too make no mistake about that. I love Johnny but he was a typical money grubber to his core and he was tight af too. johnny!!! u rawked, u truly did.
ur missed by everyone. xx
look closely. Johnny is actually smiling during the interviews
Michael Frierson I don't wonder whether I would still be able to smile if I had to take the lead of the Ramones for making things work so to make a living for everyone out of our music. And this is because I am 50 and the early divorced mothet of male twins aged 17. 😑
Johnny was a prankster he had a sense of humor. You should read his autobiography “Commando”

Joey didn't steal Linda, Johnny did, but I do agree with you no one can steal someone, Johnny didn't kidnapped Linda, she made her choice
Tommy was very instrumental in getting the band started. Tommy was the most intelligent and musical of the guys.
Exactly. Without Tommy there literally wouldn't have been a Ramones.
No disrespect and R.I.P. Ramones but johnny sounds like he had a stick shoved up his A$$.
Lol "Dee Dee had a tube he would smoke weed out off when he was in the shower".

everyone's dead (Joey, Johnny, DeeDee) let your anger go; game over
Saw them live three times. My ears are still ringing

My favorite album is Subteranian. I love "In the Park."
Thank Christ someone else appreciates that song too! Album is hit and miss for me, though.
I love In The Park!
@@HighestTrailsAbove Fuck yeah ✌🏼
I get Johnny Ramone 100% and he was a Republican and Elvis fan! Eye for details!
johnny ramone was just a very honest person. i respect that. if u don't agree with some of things he's says, that's fine. i just hate it when people bash him. have some respect, he's a legend.

Richie seems cool.
Richie was their best drummer. Really underrated.

I was distracted by a family illness and they I knew were going to die & they recently did just got back 2 NYC

Jhonny is not bad guy !

Ritchie....I thought you were all bullshit....I like you now even more...
Joey didnt STEAL Linda you cant steal people or make them love you and you dont know people what was going on .., I do knowone of the reasons why Linda prorably left though I will never post anything about someones personal life....yea I knew them

Johnny wrote that he didn't think Joey respected her, although who knows if Johnny did either.

jesus stop fighting about it. The Ramones came first Green day came a decade later. so just shut up and aprechiate this for what it is.

No way bro. BRITNEY SPEARS invented punk rock. Then the Spice Girls, then Michael Jackson, and THEN the Ramones.
He obviously didn't drop any dough at the Dentist's office.
Johnny's crooked smile made him look cute, tho.
@mo0nbuggy xDDDD. Maybe that was his purpose. To kill a bunch of innocent people and then die. now that I think about it, it does seem plausible. A bit screwed up but plausible.
Richie looks like a down and out divorced dad, trying his best to look good for an interview.
Ok, don't take life so seriously bro...
