      anyone who uses the stupid bath brackets is a mug . put 50mm by 25mm batten to support the underside edge of the bath ( all 3 sides ) then drop vertical batten to support from the batten to the floor. Does anyone know that a bath filled with water alone is the weight of 6 10 stone people ? approx 420kg ??? 1mm of movement after fitting = a leaking bath with a shower above. ESPECIALLY A PLASTIC BATH. FITTED TO A PLASTERBOARD WALL.

    So after you've levelled the bath, you can then offer the panel up and find it doesn't fit. Alternatively you offer the panel up first and once you've got the correct height, then you can level the bath up. Saves a lot of messing about if you do it right from the start!

      The waste may well pong a bit, if its tied directly into the soil pipe. If it goes to a hopper outside, that`s o.k. as its in free air. Stuff a plastic bag inside or pop a stop end on them.

    Hi James, I want to take the bath out of my small bathroom to have a shower enclosure along the wall instead. The bath taps are at one end of the bath attached to the outside waste and the electric shower is at the other end of the bath so the water runs right along to bath before it goes down the waste ! Trouble is, I don't know what lies beneath ! Is it possible to fit a shower enclosure in a situation like this ! • @GretatheEvilGremlin
      @GretatheEvilGremlin Před 7 lety +1

      You can do it! Just take your time, and have plenty of patience. Most people fail because they are racing the clock (or their missus is giving them earache to get it done). As ever, preparation is the key to success. Fit the taps and waste first. Flexy friday hoses should help you put the hot and cold away without too much pain. Then you just need to marry up the waste and a trap. Take a look on the net, or merchants catalogues, and see what meets your needs.
