It’s not a “Boeing 737 licence”. It’s called a “type rating”.
This is the time we live in, when facts don't matter and anyone can just put whatever they want out there. Lol and this one is called facts hahaha the irony
Yes, type rating. Held by a private pilot, with an SIC Only limitation. Yeah, that’s impressive (NOT).
Flying "Professionaly for 47 years" Ha, ha !!. LOL. 00:25. That is BS. He is like a private pilot that payed for simulator training on those jets and flew copilot for a short time only. Lots of BS here. Im an aerobatics flying instructor for 40 years.
Lol...correct. maybe easier for the layman to understand. Check ✔
Well you get a pilots license then a type rating
Firstly it’s Qantas AIRWAYS not Airlines and John Travolta NEVER flew for Qantas, he owned an ex Qantas 707 that was painted in Qantas livery by Qantas and he acted as an ambassador for the company on a worldwide tour. Qantas got him a 747 endorsement free via their training department. I wish people making/narrating these things would spend more than a nanosecond on research.
No B-747 rating on his certificate at the FAA airman registry.

What is cabin altitude ?
@@richierich2534 If for example you are flying at 35,000 feet in a pressurized plane that maintains the same pressure as if you were standing on an 8,000 foot mountain, the cabin altitude would be 8,000 feet.
Lol 🤦🏻♂️ let’s get all the CZcams investigators little gold medals 🎖️
I met John late one night in Salina, Kansas. A well known fuel stop for what both of us were flying at the time, 20 series Lear Jets. He had an instructor with him and wasn't particularly chatty in the pilot lounge. In about 2005 I ferried a B-757 to Lake City FL for maintenance and his 707 was there. Our maintenance rep knew his maintenance rep and we got a tour of his 707. The media loves to feature John all dolled up in a pilot uniform but he has never turned a wheel as a professional pilot. He is a hobby pilot that always has qualified professionals accompany him on his flights. He's a successful actor with an aviation habit, not a pro pilot that is an actor.
He is an accomplished pilot….👍
@@clairetrinkle3034 There will always be Haters, See the Positive in People..
I’ve tried to find out how much time-in-type John Travolta had in his 707.
I know he had 5,200 total time and nearly dozen type ratings.
That time sounds like a lot but if you spread out the time equally over the 40 years he’s been flying, it comes out to be about 2 .5 hours a week.
I can’t even imagine how the insurance works in his case.
@@justreeln2946 It’s not hating to wonder how much “time in type” he has or what the specifics are of his insurance coverage.
It wasn’t all that long ago when you could count on planning to spend 10 years as an F.O. with your butt planted in the right seat before you qualified as captain of a beast like the 707.
It isn’t hating to wonder how tricky approaches are handled, given the almost obsolete avionics.
Makes it even more special that while working full-time as a top actor and raising a family, he was able to get all his type ratings(12) and buy 5 jets with a dream house & runway. No need to minimize his aviation achievements. He certainly didn’t choose to work as an ambassador for Qantas because he needed the money. The man deserves to wear a pilot’s uniform if he so desires-he can land a heavy jet the same way any airline pilot can.
He didn’t get a 737 license….it’s called a “type rating”
he also never flew for an airline.... so the Quantas and professionally flying for 40+ years is wrong too. Was an ambassador for Quantas since 2002...
Thanks for the correction. It’s obvious the creators didn’t do adequate research.
Yes, exactly right, I'm not a pilot but I know this
That isn't a 737 Max behind John. It's a -700 BBJ.
Yes let's not.mix facts with fiction and commodification
The blue and white 737 behind John at approximately the 0:40 in the video mark is a 737-300, originally a Delta Air Lines airplane, later bought and configured into an all first class cabin for Las Vegas Sands Corp. At Sands it was registered as N788LS. That’s the airplane he bought.
@@georgiathai4961 Dont bring facts to an arrogant bullshiter pretentious video, please.
Great example of reinventing yourself constantly. Keep pushing yourself vs living only on past accolades. Congratulations.
Be nice if John actually gave the tour like you make it seem was going to happen.
I think he did in another video. Think this is just a clip from it
John has been one of my favorite actors since I was a kid in the 90s. Having a grandfather for a pilot and being a major aviation buff ..of course my man being a full fledged pilot makes him somehow even cooler
We his fans are so proud of him for having all three licences for a 707 ,747 and a 737 now he is a very good person and a very talented man God bless you and your children John 🤗♥️🌹💓
Proud? You don't even know him! If he were your son or brother then yes, be proud. But showing pride over someone you don't know and had nothing to do with his life?
John Travolta? I would never let him enter my cockpit. Never! He is not a pilot. This clip is rubbish.
I had a chance to meet him in Charlotte...what a cool guy he is!
Nice job Mr. Travolta, that is a great accomplishment
I used to be his neighbor in Ocala. He would rock my windows every time he took off and landed. We always knew when John was heading out .
when I see this guy, I see a hard worker, and I feel so sorry for him with the two biggest losses anyone can suffer, they are in a better place, and life goes on, but I still cant help see what he went through, god bless brother
Many people have been through more but sorrow goes out to him because he is a celebrity.
He's the best of the best.
CONGRATULATIONS JOHN!!!!!
Endless love to u John Travolta
I worked on Travolta's 707 in '98 on contract with AMS at Sky Harbor in Phoenix. I only wish that I had met him as he was in and out for brief periods of time at that time.
I work on johns trash in LA , I drove a trash truck
from what i've heard, you're lucky you didn't.
Commercial pilots dont get licenses for each type of aircraft they operate. For instance, John doesn't have separate licenses for the 707, 747, 737. He would have a commercial pilot license, with type ratings for each aircraft he is qualified to operate, to include whether they be multi-engine piston, turbo, or jet aircraft. But the newest addition to his personal aircraft fleet is amazing.
He has neither a commercial licence nor an ATP licence, which is strange.
There's no such thing as a pilot license. It's a certificate.
@@fernandorosales2418 you can substitute certificate with license. Even the FAA does that on their website. 🙄
Play nicely you pedantic experts 🤣❤
John's lack of ATP is just because he did not need it, (or it expired, at his age and not working for an airline, he would have lots of recurrency training problems) he can pass a commercial test real easy. That is just a private with stricter tolerances. Technically, to fly a 747, you just need a private, with multi engine, and type rating, and you do not even need the instrument rating if you stay below 18,000 ft. Any jets or over 12,500 lb gross weight plane need a type rating. I don't think that include turbo props?
The 737 is truly a stealth aircraft; particularly that Star Alliance one that disguised itself as an Airbus A320!
😂 you caught that as well 😂
I love how they title themselves beyond facts
It’s a 319, not a 320.
@@AG-qh9hc Even stealthier than I thought then!
John gave us the tour but I missed it because it's so stealthy.
Thank you for doing a real walk through. I work as a Airline Manager 4. Good to see you USA John.
I love John Travolta and so proud of him. I like flying also...HE'S MY MAN!❤❤❤❤
It's not a license that he got.... It's a type rating!!! 🤦♂
Thank You!
I’m happy to say that I am the proud owner of a 1992 civic hatch. Just a humble brag.
John Travolta been flying Airplanes almost 40 years. I remember John flying a Learjet into the Hilo Airport in the state of Hawaii in the Mid 1980’s. John would fly his B-707 into state Hawaii all the time. His late wife is from Hawaii. No one flies a jet solo. Maybe he flies with instructors, retired airline captain , that is a very smart thing to do, it is always good to be flying with experienced pilots. John has love for flying and aviation and that’s what it’s all about.
No one flies a jet solo, well, you never heard of jet fighters? Read some old books like Richard Bach's Stranger to the ground. I am fairly sure with the newer 2 pilot airlines, if forced , one pilot can fly it. They just be busier.
You say no one flies a jet solo. I depends on the jet. Cessna has been building jets the Citation, M2, M3, that are single pilot certified. Also, the Embraer Fenom 100, and Fenom 300 are single pilot certified.
He deserves it.Goid for him. I remember him from way back in welcome back Carter to his awesome action packed movies. He's definitely been through it all and deserves his fortune. One of my favorite actors. Go Florida
I don't hate in aviation, I just marvel. Enjoy John. 😉
I like how john loves to fly jets he basically only needs to hire one pilot because he’s a pilot himself and only needs to be in the seat on take offs and landings which saves tons of money which is very intelligent by him doing this thank you for sharing mr travolta and team
And he’s got his massage boys in the cabin.
I think Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden does the same thing. Bruce is an ex-British Airways pilot if my memory serves me correctly. Not sure if he owns his own planes but its been reported that he has stepped up and flown planes either for himself or for charities/organisations that needed to get humanitarian aid out to places that have been hit by disasters like tsunami's, floods and earthquakes quite a few times.
@@randycraft3166 yes meaning people hi up up up we the people team
Have you ever heard of punctuation??? Your grammar is horrendous.
Actually, if he is a member of the crew (without a relief pilot) he is required to be in the seat per the Federal Aviation Regulations:
§ 91.105 Flight crewmembers at stations.
(a) During takeoff and landing, and while en route, each required flight crewmember shall -
(1) Be at the crewmember station unless the absence is necessary to perform duties in connection with the operation of the aircraft or in connection with physiological needs; and
(2) Keep the safety belt fastened while at the crewmember station.
Schmoozing or getting a massage is NOT going to make the definition of either "duties in connection with the operation of the aircraft" or "physiological needs."
Wow, John! W O W !!! That is some great jet! 👍👍
I thought Travolta was going to show us his plane. Your program description is misleading.
Very informative video thanks.
Ah,John Travolta is just 1year elder to me, l still view on his great movie Saturday night fever, great of him to own several aircrafts like this, best wishes 😅
Congrats, what an amazing jet.
"John Travolta once said he became a Hollywood actor so he could afford to fly aircraft."
Travolta never flew for QANTAS as a line pilot. He was an ambassador for QANTAS and used to promote tha airline.
I was wondering. I knew he owned a jet and was a pilot, but this video made it sound like he was a commercial pilot. That would be fascinating if true. Thanks for the clarification.
Can't wait to get my ppl!!!!
I met him at Signature MIA and he was very nice and easy to talk to
John you are the MAN
Hell, I'm happy to have finally gotten type rated for the An-2!
Love the Airbus shot @2:25 😆
love this guy, and the 737 is the greatest
Beautiful !
Love John T!
...John has worked long and hard for us over the years ....He has earned this ...
My doctor, YES. John ? NOpe.. Dont be so stupied..
Awesome Video
Gotta' hand it to the Dude...✈️👍!!!!
Mabuhay kyo sir.
When Mr. Travolta dances... every woman in the world is mesmerized...he is the Man!
Nope. Its all hype. Simple moves.
He is a closet gay
Wow! Good for you, John!
JT is the man ! I agree don't hate. I just admire . Yes your all correct about type and rating.
Cool plane
@ Matthew, you're correct, I'm a Licensed Aviation Mechanic
Very interesting 🤔👍🏽
Nice planes, exorbitant price of operation and maintenance is crazy intense
Leaving a nice green footprint there Johnny!
Pilots have really interesting profession.
Congratulations John.
Gorgeous 😍
Awesome 👏.
He has a "Hangar Mansion" at JumbolAir in Ocala, FL. A Private, Gated, Aviation Community & Horse Farm. The Runway, is 7,500' He used to fly his Qantas 707 in & out of there, he gave it back to Qantas a few years ago.
They used to have a "Sunday Fly-In Breakfast" people from all over 🇺🇲 would go there just for their Breakfast, it was that good.
An Aviation Community will be in my next life 😁 ✈️ ❤
Good for John. I wonder if Tom Cruise would let him be his wingman or the other way around. I love them both.
I thought John was going to give the tour🥴
LOts of BS here.
Click bate?
@@Marlondurran Yes it is.. LOL..
a true presidential jet im headed to buy it right now
So John's Type Rating is now flies the narrow body Boeing 737. Does this rating only for -700 -800 and -900 only? Or also for Max8 and Max9 too?
Pretty cool to see 2 of the ones I work on daily. The one with the white wood with the word BOEING on the monitor and the one taxi with the red white and blue stripes. Cool video but yes those two are not MAX 737s just regular -7s
I met John when he was flying a Westwind 1124 with an Urban Cowboy logo on the side!
Some rich dudes collect high performance cars and vintage cars but he collects commercial airliners and has his own airport in his backyard
Very nice John
Great Jhon 👍
I once had the opportunity to ask then Boeing CEO Phil Condit if he was surprised by the popularity of the BBJ early in its program. He laughed and indicated that he was slated to receive one but they kept bumping him in the queue for key customers.
Like SMASHED! 😊
Thank you for a well made and informative report. I'm amazed at the thrifty hourly operating cost of the BBJ compared to much smaller business jets, for example the Global 6000 which costs twice as much to operate. One small criticism, the abrasive and sudden pitches to subscribe or/and like the video that appears too often and mixed in with the report makes me not want to do either.
They are awesome. Big money.
Super cool
No entendí nada de lo que hablan. Pero se ve Espectacular 👌 ese Avión de Jhon Travolta. Saludos Y Bendiciones para todos 🙏
Also not a MAX.....but remember its called Beyond Facts lol.
‘Qantas airlines’ 💀 its Q.A.N.T.A.S (standing for Queensland and Northern Territory air service)
Known within the aviation industry as Queers And Nancies Trained As Stewards.
HE DID IT!!OMG JPOHNNNN I LVOE OYU
That's right, Matthew B👍... It's a type rating. Thank you for making that correction.
*I'll take two, thank you.*
Thought you where going to give a walk through for future instruction pilots to use.
I giggled when i heard BBJ, those boeing engineers are funny.
yep me to.... Big Blow Job (with wings)
2% fuel savings with the addition of winglets alone...that's impressive. I like the view of the aviators "dollhouse" towards the end of the video...guaranteed pilots would by it for their kids if available.
The 737Max already has these winglets as standard equipment
There are a ton of errors in this video
Yeah and now the scimitar winglets are even more efficient
Watched a 9 minute video telling me about the 737 BBJ, when all I wanted to know was, did John Travolta buy one? haha
Great news
Also, his type ratings in the 707,737,da50and da2000 is SIC Privileges only.
I was more interested in seeing the flight deck.
Investors appreciate there report.
How does one get to contact John Travolta
Wonder if they tighten the door plug bolts on these ?? :P
Do these jets have the legendary MCAS?
I found it quite funny, when they were explaining 737’s and they showed an A320 landing! 🤣
Is that 737 -800 type rating backwards compatible to cover the older 737s, after the software fiasco ? This is at heart, still a 737, designed as a medium range hauler, I am Asian, so I tend to look at the Pacific, 6000 miles something range will not cut it crossing the Pacific without a refuel stop , maybe at Hawaii. This is no 787 But then who says you cannot add even more fuel tanks to the plane.
Thats comforting longer intervals in between maintenanc? If youre gonna skimp I would skimp.there.
Now it´s time for John to get a A380 !
This dude knows his planes.
Nice little jet; I think ill get a couple of them
Upgraded door bolts?
WTG John !
BIG BUCKS JET 737!!!!🛫🛫🛫🛫🛫
John, now with a shaven head and a beard !! Woof.... hot !! 🔥
