Let me take you along to Amsterdam Airport, Schiphol (EHAM). A cockpit view landing in a Boeing 737-800 (Boeing 737NG) on ‘ the Buitenveldertbaan’, runway 27. Amsterdam is known for its scenic landmarks like the canals and famous events like Amsterdam Dance Event, Pride & King's Day. The video shows what it's like to fly a standard ILS approach in a Boeing 737-800. Interesting ATC audio, facts, approach charts and actual call-outs and Boeing procedures were added to provide a sense of everything that is going on inside the cockpit during landing. Another great landing, Ms Gooris! I love all the green fields around Schiphol. They are espcially amzing when the tulip fields are raging with brilliant yellows, reds, and purples.

I have been to Amsterdam. Loved the country and the airport was amazing. I have flown in there commercially. Though I am a pilot in the US I have never flown an aircraft into Schiphol. I do use Vatsim and have been with MSFS since 1986. I always love to fly into and out of Schiphol. Though the taxiways are a bit complex, the overall layout and complexity of the airport is awesome.
It's a minefield even navigating within the msfs environment and the huge folder of pages with the Amsterdam airport software (from FSX) enjoyable and do-able. 😉

We've been in Amsterdam a number of times, by air, and I've never been fortunate to have had you in the cockpit of any plane we've flown on. Someday. These videos are excellent to watch. You know you're still my favorite pilot. A few times by boat also, but unfortunately you were not on any of those either. Just my luck.
I can see why weesp and muiden are growing rapidly along with Amsterdam proper, being someone who appreciates 4 seasons every year Amsterdam is perfect imo I love the countryside and the Netherlands in general such a beautiful country centrally located to travel anywhere is Europe! 😊 great flying as always Michele!
I love the challenge in MSFS 2020 of turning off the A/P in gusty winds and 'greasing a landing' it is so satisfying!

Good afternoon Michelle. I enjoy watching your videos. The information you show on screen has an incredible amount of detail you have to calculate for a safe flight. Well, at least it was dry, you've to be happy with the little things. I don't fly much but when I did, I wish taxiing took only a few minutes. Often got the feeling we could better drive to our destination 😁

Interesting! This was my first cockpit view of landing at AMS! Lovely! I have flown through AMS several times. Last time was early March of 2020.... just on the eve of the entire world shutting down. Already that flight back to the USA, any passengers with China stamped in their passports were not permitting to board the flight. Texting with my wife, she asked "And not Italy?" No, Italy was not being checked for. I think sometimes the flight from the USA would land probably on the farthest away runway from the terminal. From there we would taxi and turn seemingly endlessly before we got to the arrival gate. And it was probably in 2018, passing through AMS early in the morning local time, I captured a video of someone inside a large analog clock in the terminal cleaning the transparent white surface. I have seen lovely photos of planes flying over large Tulip fields landing at AMS. Those are lovely views. Oh oh oh..... and that 2020 trip, when we landed at AMS.... the flight was VERY early as we had been pushed across the Atlantic Ocean by a strong tail wind. Not sure if it was due to the high winds or what.... but that pilot decided to drop the plane from cursing altitude rapidly down, down, down. I was literally gulping water, trying to clear the pressure in my ears. Once we got on the ground, announcement from the cockpit, "... and we have arrived so many minutes early!" I fancied myself three shades of green, and asked another group member for a flight sickness pill. That was NOT a fun landing in AMS.

I remember a 15 year ago (2007) when I visited Amsterdam during that 27th April King's day (a lot of celebration, maybe at that time it was Queen's day..I can't remember)..Ciao

Impressive Michelle, how you handled the obvious gusts blowing the plane around.. I don't many people realize how much is left to the pilots experience in certain weather conditions such as sudden wind gusts

Michelle, my father was from Amsterdam and grew up in the Jordaan in the 1930's ... hard times ... my aunt used to live near Vondelpark. My great grandfather around 1900 would push a large two-wheeled cart with fresh meat from the old abattoir to the Kinkestraat. Quite a trip ...
Look, while I would have loved to have been a commercial pilot. However, in my day, vision restrictions were too strict. So, I Sim a bit and watch channels like yours! So, my opinion has no professional basis at all, but for me, in that wind, that was one fine landing. You gambled all that money years ago and you made it. Something to be very proud of! Enjoy every day!

Thanks for sharing I always wondered what it looked like from the cockpit side. I watch a local CZcamsr do livestreams from AMS he might have caught one of your landings. I am amazed how windy it is for the landings almost all of the time. Expected given how near the sea you are. Beautiful airport from the videos I have watched there.
